24/06/2026: We stayed in a suite at Hostellerie des Châteaux in Ottrott and, overall, had a very pleasant experience. The hotel's location is truly beautiful, nestled between vineyards and forests in a peaceful setting at the foot of the Vosges Mountains and close to Obernai. It is the perfect base for exploring Alsace while enjoying complete relaxation. The hotel offers all the facilities you would expect from a four-star property, with the outstanding highlight being its impressive wellness area of more than 2,500 m², featuring several swimming pools, jacuzzis, saunas, hammams, and relaxation rooms. In summary, Hostellerie des Châteaux offers an excellent combination of luxury, wellness, gastronomy, and tranquility. Thanks to its beautiful location, well-appointed rooms, exceptional breakfast, and extensive spa facilities, it is certainly a place we would be delighted to return to.

12/06/2026: We spent a weekend there as a couple. What a shame! There was no kettle or coffee maker in the room... No slippers for the spa or tea corner. We didn't like being seated next to other people in the restaurant, even though there are several dining rooms... it lacked a cozy atmosphere. The meal wasn't exceptional, even though there were four courses for the price we paid. Outside, there was no space by the pool; all the lounge chairs were occupied by towels, but no one was sitting there! To top it all off, we were charged for drinks we didn't order... What a shame for such a beautiful establishment! We don't recommend this hotel...

02/10/2026: Fantastic mussels and fries evening (in September)! I can't wait to go back! The mussels were truly excellent, as were the sauces and the famous homemade fries. A huge thank you to the chef and the service team who provided top-notch service.

25/09/2026: We came as a group of 12 for a mussels and fries evening and had a wonderful time! We started with homemade plum syrup as an aperitif, and the mussels were delicious with homemade fries too! There were four excellent sauces to choose from for the mussels. The homemade tarts for dessert were fantastic. As for the service, it was impeccable. You're served with a smile and the staff is very pleasant. In short, this restaurant is highly recommended if you want to eat homemade food at a good price, with excellent service – you've come to the right place.

28/09/2026: The cappuccino was so delicious, I haven't had one like that in ages! Excellent and a beautiful atmosphere.

28/09/2026: Unwelcoming attitude from the staff when I arrived. This was then followed by my order disappearing and other customers who arrived after me walking out with their orders. When I checked I was again met with the same attitude and when the order finally arrived there was no apology and it seemed like I was inconveniencing the staff. Not sure if it was because I was speaking English, but it is an incredibly strange way to run a business if you want to be successful. The only saving grace is that the coffee when it finally arrived was quite nice, although not worth €5. Plenty of other cheaper and more friendly options around.

31/08/2026: Excellent food, unfortunately, much less warm service. We had lunch at Windhof this Friday, a party of five, and as far as the food was concerned, there was very little to criticize: the dishes were delicious, well-prepared, and beautifully presented. We genuinely enjoyed the cuisine, and it deserves to be highlighted. However, the welcome and service left us with a much more mixed impression. Few smiles, little interaction, no real effort to make the guests feel comfortable, and a very professional but rather rushed service. Nothing inherently wrong, but a coldness quite unusual in a restaurant of this caliber, which unfortunately contrasts sharply with the quality of the food. Towards the end of the meal, the atmosphere thankfully relaxed, and the service became a little more pleasant. Perhaps the waitress simply became more at ease as the meal progressed. Another point to note: if the entire table doesn't choose the set menu, everyone must then order à la carte. This rule is clearly stated on the restaurant's website and upon entering, so there were no unpleasant surprises in this regard, but it remains rather unusual and, for me, difficult to understand. Two of us ordered a main course and dessert, one ordered just a main course. The remaining two recreated the entire menu from the à la carte menu, which cost them about twelve euros more than the set menu, around €62 instead of €49. What justifies this €23 or €24 surcharge? Was it the portion sizes, the efficiency of the service...? In the end, a very enjoyable dining experience, but the welcome could have been warmer. It's a shame, because with more friendly and attentive service, our opinion would have been quite different. I don't wish to recommend this restaurant at the moment; perhaps I'll try another place.

10/10/2026: We celebrated our wedding at L'Évasion and it was perfect! The food and service were superb! Céline is very attentive and helped us organize our evening with her expertise and excellent advice. She made herself readily available to meet and discuss the project. She was very reassuring, and we truly felt we could trust her. During the evening, she and her team took exceptional care of us and our guests, who also greatly appreciated the service and the food! The venue's advantages also include its easy accessibility from Strasbourg (by car or tram), its proximity to a hotel, the lush garden, easy parking, no decibel limit for music, and the option of having a separate room away from the main hall for babies to put down. This evening will remain etched in our memories! You can book with complete confidence; Céline and her team will take care of everything! ;)

The meal was delicious, refined, and greatly appreciated by all our guests. As for the service, it was impeccable: an attentive, professional, responsive, and incredibly kind team. They managed the evening brilliantly, allowing us to fully enjoy our day without any stress. We wholeheartedly recommend this venue and their services. 31/08/2026: Lunch with the family today. The owner made a reservation during his annual holiday and called me back to confirm. A lovely establishment, only four generations old, truly superb. The owner explained the entire history of the restaurant to us. I would gladly return. And all this at very affordable prices.
