07/05/2026: I enjoyed my meals at this restaurant until they took a reservation on a day they were closed. My birthday meal was ruined, and I won't be going back!

07/05/2026: I called on Monday, March 9th, to make a reservation for four people at 12:30 PM on Friday, April 3rd, for my father's birthday. I asked if the restaurant was open, as it was Good Friday (Easter). The person assured me that it was and confirmed my reservation. Surprise! That day, we arrived at a closed restaurant! This is outrageous and unprofessional! It's unacceptable to treat people like this! Frankly, it's shameful. You don't even deserve one star.

26/05/2026: A lovely evening spent on the terrace. We received a tarte flambée as an aperitif before our drinks (we didn't find the concept very logical). My friend ordered a gratinée tarte flambée for her main course. It was soggy, heavy, and mushy... not particularly good in the end. My gourmet salad, on the other hand, was excellent, as was the duck breast for the third person. The desserts: strawberries, absolutely delicious!

05/05/2026: Quick shopping experience 🤣 Closed at 7:15 PM, not 7:30 PM, because the slicer had already been cleaned and they didn't want to get it dirty again for a last-minute customer. Too bad for a poor tourist like me.

03/05/2026: A meal for two, weekday lunchtime. Excellent sauerkraut made with quality ingredients. Friendly service and a very reasonable bill. I appreciated being able to choose what I wanted in my sauerkraut, not from the set menu. Thank you.

13/02/2026: What a wonderful discovery last night in Obernai! An intimate and elegant restaurant with a warm and refined atmosphere. Our waiter was exceptionally classy: perfectly attentive without being intrusive—the service was impeccable. As for the food… a true explosion of flavors! Each dish was a surprise, a subtle balance of tastes and textures. Bravo and thank you to the Chef for this magnificent discovery. The wines, carefully paired with each course, were also a delightful surprise. The presentation and explanations for each glass added an extra touch to this already exceptional experience. Thank you again for this superb evening. We will gladly return.

15/05/2026: The spider steak is excellent, just like my grandmother's, served with friendliness and smiles by the waitresses…reservations are essential if you want to be sure of getting a table…🫶🏼

11/05/2026: A restaurant with a local feel! The food is a bit like home cooking. The appetizer buffet is nice and the waitresses are efficient. The cream sauce was a bit of a flop, but these things happen. My colleague had a very good Irish coffee! Good value for money.

24/05/2026: Positive point: A restaurant with a traditional setting, located in the heart of the forest. We received a warm welcome from the waitress. We ordered three cocktails, which were good, but rather expensive (€9-10)..... The tarte flambée was really good, but €11.50 is far too much. Negative point: Unfortunately, with all due respect, the salad was a disaster. It wasn't a culinary catastrophe, but €18? With 80% salad, five tiny pieces of salmon, a bit of citrus fruit, and asparagus straight from a jar... The salad wasn't fresh at all; I couldn't taste any freshness. It was lukewarm, even though it was 30°C outside. The "gourmet salad" came with tiny shrimp that you'd find in a supermarket, and Serrano ham that wasn't really Serrano ham. The cocktail sauce had no homemade taste whatsoever. Besides, we asked for bread, three small slices, which isn't much, so we asked for more, then two? There are three of us... Not two. Bread isn't the most expensive thing. Frankly, we were disappointed, even with that. We left, only half full, very disappointed.

19/05/2026: We celebrated our wedding on Saturday, May 16th at this superb restaurant, and we will cherish the unforgettable memories. From the moment we arrived, we were delighted by the delicious homemade savory appetizers offered by the establishment. The meal was exceptional, worthy of a fine dining experience: from the appetizer to the dessert, everything was homemade with meticulous care and exquisite taste. The vacherin, served with homemade ice cream, was incredible, and the wedding cakes were as beautiful as they were delicious. A huge congratulations to the pastry chef for her remarkable work! 😍 The entire team was impeccably kind and professional. The service was seamless, with no waiting between courses, and we were able to enjoy our day without ever feeling rushed to leave. Furthermore, the value for money was excellent! No one was disappointed. The entire team went out of their way to make the guests feel pampered. Thanks to them, this day was even more beautiful and successful. If you're looking for a place to celebrate an important event, go for it without hesitation: you can trust them completely 🥰

20/04/2026: The setting is pleasant, but that's not enough to make up for the rest. The service, provided by two smiling waitresses, lacked genuine attention and follow-through, leaving a rather cold overall impression. The doggy bag concept is ill-suited to the restaurant's positioning and hardly acceptable. The bill of €80 for two cordon bleu, a flammekueche, two fruit juices, and a whisky seems excessive given the quality of the food. Overall, a disappointing experience, with unjustified value for money.

07/04/2026: I've been here many times and always enjoyed the kidneys. They were the best prepared in the region. But today, for the first time, I experienced a disappointment: a whole lump of offal under a layer of sauce. Even a hardy diner like me can't stomach that. Sorry – but that's just unacceptable.

24/05/2026: At first I wanted to order inside, but the waiter inside told me to go outside, his colleague would come. I waited outside, we wanted to drink a coffee and a water, but since my little son had an ice cream in his hand, they didn't serve it on the terrace! The service is below par!

06/04/2026: I don't comment very often during my trips (I think this is actually the first time). However, I think the owners and Staff from Hotel-Restaurant La Bonne Franquette absolutely deserved it. I spent my 2026 Easter Weekend there. My room was clean and the bed very comfy, the food at the restaurant was excellent. But most importantly, the Staff was simply incredible. I hope that my trips will bring me back to the Alsace, if this happen, I will book there again on a heartbeat.
