17/09/2026: We had dinner this evening and everything was perfect: the decor, the welcome, the little extras for the aperitif and at the end of the meal! The dishes were generous, beautifully presented, and delicious. Everything was top-notch.

26/08/2026: The C/P ratio is impeccable. Two words: Fair and fine. No matter what your food budget is when visiting Chamonix, I highly recommend having a meal at La Matafan at least once. Because……Life, huh. It filled the void that last night’s steak at another restaurant left in both body and mind. Before coming to Chamonix, I searched online for several recommended restaurants and looked through their menus for special dishes worth trying here. One dish at La Matafan particularly caught my attention: L'agneau I was already intrigued by the fact that the chef had experience at a Michelin-starred restaurant. Then, when I was making the reservation, I discovered that La Matafan is actually the restaurant of the five-star Hotel Mont-Blanc, which made me even more excited. From the reservation itself, to the bread, appetizer, cold soup, main course, and finally the little dessert, the entire dining experience truly lived up to the standards of a five-star hotel. Beyond the food itself, both the dining atmosphere and the quality of service were outstanding. Every dish showed the chef’s commitment to both culinary craftsmanship and artistic design, with an impressively high level of attention to detail. The tiny edible flowers delicately placed on the dishes were such a lovely little detail that made the whole experience feel romantic. The presentation made the entire dining experience feel beautifully complete. I especially want to praise the service staff. Dining alone in such a lively outdoor restaurant, combined with the fact that the folding chair was sitting on the grass and difficult to pull closer to the table, made me feel a little uncomfortable and anxious. But the staff were natural and warm throughout the entire meal, which gradually helped me relax and feel more at ease dining alone. And I absolutely have to mention the little dessert at the end. In my country, I never really understood what was so special about madeleines. I had tried them before and always thought, “Isn’t it just a sweet pastry?” But today, when I bit into the madeleine and started chewing, my eyes literally widened: “Oh～this is so good ❤️🥰” I even wanted another one 🤭. It was such a romantic dining experience that it made the whole day feel beautiful. I’ll definitely come back the next time I visit Chamonix.❤️ Highly recommended.

08/10/2026: We popped in for a quick brew before heading back to Geneva. A super accommodating place and the staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. The restaurant is a lovely wooden building in a great location, close to the mountain train station. Wish we could have stayed longer, to be fair.

02/10/2026: A charming restaurant, welcoming from the outside, with a superb terrace that we thoroughly enjoyed. Nicely shaded, pleasant… perfect! The service is quick, attentive, and perfectly suited to children. We enjoyed their dishes so much that we happily finished our plates. And the fondue? A marvel! Flavorful, generous, and perfectly prepared. A warm welcome, attentive service, and a beautiful setting. I recommend it 100%!

15/09/2026: We've been several times before; the food is always good and the welcome is warm. However, the new menu, generated by artificial intelligence, is immediately noticeable. I find it a shame; it's rather vague and doesn't encourage reading it in its entirety. There's far too much information, and ultimately, too much information is overwhelming! It's a pity, because it doesn't really showcase the quality of the restaurant.

13/09/2026: A fantastic find! Excellent food, incredibly kind staff – truly everything you need for a great time. And a major plus, which is very rare: they serve late and are open on Sunday evenings – absolutely top-notch, nothing to complain about. Thank you!

11/09/2026: Delicious coffee and a tasty piece of carrot cake. There is a pleasant hustle and bustle, especially on the weekend. Lots of people and children playing, which creates a cozy atmosphere.

03/07/2026: Had the 3-course lunch at Le Barto Annemasse on a Friday afternoon. The restaurant was surprisingly busy, which is always a good sign. Service was friendly, though a little slow at times as there seemed to be only one very efficient lady managing most of the front-of-house duties. Despite being busy, she handled everything professionally. The food was enjoyable and well-prepared, although nothing particularly stood out as memorable. Considering the quality and the affordable price, the set lunch offers good value for money. Overall, a solid choice if you're looking for a reasonably priced French meal in Annemasse.

15/06/2026: This is my fifth visit, and it's always so welcoming. The homemade dishes are excellent (special mention to the terrines). I highly recommend it.

23/09/2026: I went in for raclette, and the raclette itself was fine! Despite the embers falling into the spatula and therefore into the cheese (not convinced about the health aspect, but I suppose it's a problem with the equipment). However, the waiter... I don't know if he was just having a bad day, but a little friendliness or even just a smile wouldn't hurt. He barely said hello before scowling, his movements were abrupt, really unpleasant.

23/09/2026: Everything was excellent — the taste and presentation of the food, the extensive wine selection, the atmosphere of the restaurant, and the wonderful service from the staff. Of course, the main course of beef and the cheese were delicious, but I was also pleasantly surprised by the cake I had for dessert. It wasn’t overly sweet, and even the cream was absolutely delicious!

09/08/2026: U'Fredy is situated at the outskirt of La Clusaz where the temperature was a few degrees lower than the town of La Clusaz which is a lovely Alpine resort town with shops and restaurants. We were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the cuisine - a real gastronomic meal, excellent price-quality ratio. It is a family owned hotel and the service is excellent.

07/09/2026: We appreciated the discreet and efficient service. The terrace boasts a magnificent view of the lake, which greatly enhances the charm of the place. The dishes are beautifully presented and showcase high-quality ingredients. The only drawback: the first set menu is rather expensive. An additional option at a mid-range price would make the experience even more accessible. Despite this, we had a very pleasant time and have excellent memories of this restaurant.

07/09/2026: Despite the consistently pleasant food, service, and setting, the owner's behavior was so unpleasant that it unfortunately overshadowed the entire experience for everyone involved.
