22/12/2025: A SHAME — RUN AWAY! We chose Les Tables de Philippe because of its advertised "gastronomic" positioning, linked to Les Chalets de Philippe. The gap between the promise and the reality is unfortunately obvious. We came via the Gourmet Passport, which has already allowed us to discover some excellent gastronomic establishments, including some at reduced rates. The price paid therefore has no bearing on the standards or the legitimacy of our opinion. We were informed at the beginning of the meal that the current Italian chef had only arrived a few days or weeks prior. This information is important because it means that older photos and reviews visible on Google do not necessarily reflect what is offered today. The menu offered during our visit was as follows: – beef carpaccio, – pumpkin risotto with sausage pieces, – vitello tonnato, accompanied by raw vegetables (a simple bowl of salad combining lettuce and a little red cabbage), – aged, but very young, cheeses, – followed by a moist chocolate cake with yogurt sauce. Overall, it's very classic Italian cuisine: recipes lacking any particular creativity, predictable flavors, basic textures, and a presentation without any noticeable effort. It's acceptable, but unremarkable, and far from the claimed gastronomic level. The service was also subpar. One of the waiters spoke neither French nor English, only Italian, making any interaction difficult. His service was very abrupt, with no apparent etiquette. A second waiter was more conventional, pleasant, but offered nothing of value. No presentation of the dishes was offered: the plates were simply placed on the table, and the staff immediately withdrew. During our conversation with the owner, he explained that "this isn't French gastronomy, but haute Italian cuisine," which he claimed was the work of a chef trained at one of Capri's finest schools. He also implied that, as holders of the Gourmet Passport, our comments were of little consequence and that the restaurant would always be full anyway. However, when we visited, the restaurant was far from full, which raises questions about the consistency of his claims. The conversation took place in a tone that was not conducive to discussion and offered no real opportunity for self-reflection, further exacerbating our disappointment. We didn't take any photos—or rather, we didn't even consider it—as the presentation of the dishes was so poor. To get an idea, simply search for the dishes listed above on Google and look at the first corresponding Google Images result. Conclusion: If you're looking for a truly exceptional gastronomic experience, both in terms of food and service, this isn't the place for you. However, if you're looking for classic, decent, but nothing more, dishes, then this is the right place for you.

21/12/2025: We would like to share our experience regarding our dinner at Les Tables de Philippe in Chamonix. We had booked a six-course tasting menu for €95. Upon arrival, we were informed of a change of chef, which we accepted without difficulty. However, a new five-course menu was offered in its place, at the same price. Presented as a gourmet Italian menu, it unfortunately proved very disappointing. While the carpaccio was acceptable, it was rather simple. The next course, a pumpkin and sausage risotto, lacked any real finesse. The vitello tonnato was the most disappointing element: meat drowning in sauce, accompanied by a simple bowl of salad, whereas the menu advertised raw vegetables. As I don't eat raw vegetables, I asked for an alternative and was served mini-quiches that seemed to have been frozen, which is hardly acceptable in a restaurant claiming to be gourmet. The cheeses were bland, and the dessert—a chocolate cake with a yogurt sauce—was something you'd expect from a brasserie. Considering the price of the menu, it was a complete disappointment. Furthermore, the service was anything but gourmet. We should point out that we had the Gourmet Passport, and therefore only one of the two menus was charged. However, our complaint is not at all related to the amount paid, but rather to the quality of the meal, which fell far short of the standards expected of a gourmet menu. Finally, when we tried to express our disappointment to the owner, he was dismissive, arguing that having the Gourmet Passport didn't give us the right to complain. A regrettable and unprofessional reaction that only exacerbated our poor experience.

19/01/2026: The service was adequate for the €17 set menu, which is misleading compared to the website's price of €15.80. As for the meal: the main course was dry ravioli with no flavor whatsoever; it seemed like that's all they had to serve us. Other tables were served much better, judging by the texture. The dessert was a tiramisu that was only 3 cm thick and 5 cm across, topped with nothing but cream. I know I was just passing through and not a regular. But I'm from Annecy.

24/12/2025: I highly recommend this restaurant! The food is excellent, the prices are reasonable, and the staff is very friendly. I'll definitely be back!

14/02/2026: AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Everything is frozen from Metro. Nothing is homemade. We ordered beef and it was veal, the steak was overcooked, it was like shoe leather, and the fries were frozen, just like the nuggets on the kids' menu! It's clear there are no real chefs in the kitchen! We were really disappointed. The worst part is that they're transparent enough to say it wasn't good, but nobody asks why.

07/02/2026: A good place with reasonable prices and a very warm welcome, no waiting time. Simple cuisine.

17/03/2026: We had dinner in the new restaurant which was very nice. Food is a mix of everything from Savoie to English to Thai curry. Nicely done. Really thought about the diners and not disturbed by the music from the bar. Service was friendly but a bit forgetful. Must have asked for water about 4 times!

10/03/2026: I've been a regular here for years, but there's been a big change since the new ownership. I was very disappointed with the meal. A Caesar salad without chicken, and chicken was an extra charge. If you ask for mustard, there isn't any. The servers aren't to blame; they're clearly trained by management. I'll be spreading the word. The restaurant seems to have adopted a more British approach, and I'm not even mentioning the prices. It's up to you to decide.

11/02/2026: Delicious snack at a reasonable price for a bar/restaurant in an alpine resort. Very friendly welcome from the waitress and her colleague, even during the busy service.

01/03/2026: A very pleasant surprise at Coucou Café. We arrived as a group of four adults and three children without a reservation, and despite this, the staff took the time to find us a table on the terrace. Honestly, that was really appreciated. The setting is magnificent, right next to the airport's departures area. Watching the planes take off during your meal is a nice change of pace and appeals to both children and adults. The food was very good, homemade, and reasonably priced for Megève. Even the nuggets on the children's menu are homemade, which is worth mentioning. The staff were friendly, smiling, and accommodating. We'll definitely be back.

06/03/2026: Fantastic experience! We came twice during our vacation. The service was excellent, the waitresses were very pleasant! The decor is very traditional. And the food is good!

15/02/2026: Amazing place! We come here multiple times every year, and it never disappoints. The owner is so lovely, and the food is great for a traditional experience with other dishes suitable for picky eaters. The atmosphere is always great and the restaurant itself if really nicely done!! We love it here.

13/03/2026: Amazing scenery, food was between 2 - 3 stars. Self-service. Toilets are a bit basic, and are down a small slope under the restaurant, sink had very cold water and no hand drying facilities.

09/03/2026: Good restaurant, plenty of choice and friendly service. The fries really aren't great, which is a shame because the burger is good. We were served a steak tartare that wasn't good, but they changed it for something else without any problem. Large sunny terrace! Lack of music

16/01/2026: SHAMEFUL!! A raspberry and blueberry tart for 4 people for 27 euros, with no pastry cream between the fruit and the crust. The blueberries were definitely frozen, as they were waterlogged. This is Megève, after all...
