13/09/2026: The welcome is always so friendly. The cuisine is traditional and delicious. I've been going there for over three years, and it's a ritual to return every time my son visits France. It's always consistent, never disappointing, which isn't always the case. Excellent value for money. I highly recommend it.

14/07/2026: We decided to return to this restaurant after four years, with great enthusiasm and the hope of recapturing the wonderful experience we had previously enjoyed. The ambiance and decor are still as pleasant as ever, but unfortunately, that was the only positive aspect of our lunch. We arrived with high expectations and hearty appetites. We left disappointed and far from satisfied. Service: mediocre and clumsy From the outset, we were asked to choose our dessert before we had even started our meal. An unusual practice, but we agreed. We quickly regretted it. When we shared our comments about the dishes, the waitress simply said, "Ah, I see," without apology or questions. The same reaction occurred when we sent the desserts back. This gave us the impression that she herself wasn't convinced of the quality of what she was serving. The starters were decent, but the rest was a disaster. The starters ranged from passable to good. However, the main courses were a real disappointment: • a tough lamb chop with an overly salty, almost inedible sauce; • a beef fillet that was decidedly not tender, even served rare, with a sauce that was once again too reduced and too salty. The side dishes were meager: a small, poorly executed rectangle of dauphine potatoes and a tiny bowl of vegetables meant to be shared between two people. This might have been acceptable if the flavors and freshness had been there, but they weren't. Desserts: a complete failure. The cherries in port served with a "panna cotta" were tasteless, and the panna cotta was a panna cotta in name only. The warm pear and chocolate soufflé was undercooked: you couldn't taste the pear or the chocolate, only the unvaporated alcohol. We left both desserts, as they were simply inedible. A hefty bill for a disappointing experience We paid the full bill, €262, despite not enjoying or finishing our meals. Conclusion The principle of a restaurant is, first and foremost, to provide good food. If you want to treat yourself, in my humble opinion, Le Sérac is not the right choice. Especially since several excellent restaurants can be found in the village: Le Rond de Carotte, Source, or, for a similar price, La Ferme du Cupelin and La Table d’Armante in Saint Nicolas de Véroce. A real shame for the culinary scene of Saint Gervais les Bains. We were hoping for at least a decent meal; unfortunately, that wasn't the case.

06/10/2026: A very good restaurant in an exceptional setting, with friendly, polite, and very warm service. The menu is quite varied without being excessive, which could indicate lower quality; all in all, a very successful experience.

06/10/2026: My parents and I really enjoyed the dining experience here. The restaurant decoration and design is lovely and warm. Our waitress Whitney was really nice, patient, and attentive. And our food was superb- 2 menus and my mother got the lyonnaise salad. For the menus we got the salmon gravlax and house rabbit terrine, sea bass and duck leg, and the 2 dessert options. Everything tasted fresh and the cook was perfect for us. If I’m being picky, the bacon is quite salty which is to be expected but my parents aren’t big on too salty foods.

21/09/2026: I usually enjoy going to Brasserie du Général, but I hadn't been for a long time and was a little disappointed: the food was plentiful, but the starter was bland, the perch fillets were a bit dry and tasteless, and the peach tart was completely tasteless. The staff weren't very friendly, even though there were only a few tables to manage.

19/09/2026: Raclette is only available at indoor seating. Since we were walk-ins and the indoor area was full, we sat on the terrace and ordered dishes such as Savoie fondue, onion soup, and potato gratin. The portions are huge. The fondue was delicious the first bite, but Koreans might crave kimchi as they eat, so I recommend ordering a salad or pickles to go with it. The server was friendly, and the atmosphere of the restaurant was nice. The price for three dishes and one drink was around 55 euros.

08/04/2026: I spent one night at the hotel with my two children. The reception was very friendly and accommodating. The room was quite small, but perfectly adequate for one night. Unfortunately, the shower drain wasn't working properly, which made it a bit difficult when three of us wanted to shower together. Perhaps that should be looked into. We had to book breakfast separately, but we knew that from the start. The buffet was ample and good. There was really nothing lacking. The service was also very good. Overall, we were satisfied.

07/04/2026: We had a wonderful time at the Hotel Les Alpgaes. The location is ideal, just steps from the slopes, with the option to walk there. The view is also beautiful. The room had everything you need for a good, quiet night's sleep. Finally, the welcome was excellent.
