28/02/2026: Hello, we chose the €31 set menu with foie gras and chicken in a pot. The foie gras was of poor quality, probably a budget option. As for the chicken in a pot, it wasn't a real chicken in a pot at all, but rather a chicken boiled in a pot of water. It had no flavor and lacked tomato sauce. 🍅... It's a shame that the restaurant Chez Oliver next door is closed, or perhaps the former owners of the Henri IV could show them how to make it properly. Unfortunately, there are very few restaurants left where you can enjoy a good chicken in a pot, and you have to go a bit further from the château. The dessert was satisfactory.

24/02/2026: What an amazing bar! This was my first dinner in Bayonne and I was never disappointed. The tapas of Jambon Bayonne and cheese were awesome. The staffs were incredible warm and welcoming too. I saw many locals visiting the bar, which was no doubt. 100% recommended to anyone. It’d be difficult to find a table in the dinner time so reservations might be better, in particular if you are a large group.

18/02/2026: Family meal, weekday evening, quiet, excellent service, varied and very good dishes, affordable price. Good.

13/01/2026: Arrived on a Tuesday around 12:30 PM, not many people there. We were seated immediately, our order was taken, and our drinks and food arrived quite quickly. The server was attentive, no complaints there. The portions and prices were very reasonable; we left more than satisfied for €20-25 per person including drinks. The Paradise and Pataterie mocktails are really good! A great rediscovery of this chain.

02/05/2026: Huge disappointment. Over €100 for two people for a starter, main course, and an aperitif. Poorly located (next to the toilets). 45-minute wait between the starter and the main course. For my main course, I ordered bluefin tuna, which was way overcooked (tuna should be served rare throughout!). In short, for the price of a Flunch meal, it would have been acceptable, but at this price, for lunch, it's outrageous.

01/05/2026: I do not recommend this place. We arrived at 1 p.m. without a reservation. We were seated at a table next to the restrooms (which smelled bad) because the other tables were supposedly reserved… the restaurant was half empty. Several families showed up without reservations and were given seats on the terrace… the veranda was three-quarters empty. Then, 45 minutes passed between the appetizer and the main course. I will not be returning. This is an establishment to avoid. And the food has become mediocre. Very expensive: over 100 euros for a tomato juice, a non-alcoholic cocktail, two appetizers (gratinéed razor clams and fried octopus), and one main course each (baby squid that was inedible and a tuna steak that was overcooked).

10/11/2025: November 2025: I regret to inform you that not only has it closed, but both the building and the terrace have disappeared—a real shame because, for me, it was a gem. **A must-visit in Anglet to enjoy the sea, the atmosphere, and the good vibes.** Lagunak is much more than a beach bar: it's a magical place where every visit becomes a special moment. The location is unbeatable, right on the oceanfront, ideal for watching the sunset with a glass of wine or a cold beer. The atmosphere is relaxed, with a charming mix of locals, surfers, and travelers who create a truly authentic energy. The menu offers tasty options, generous burgers, and fresh choices like salads and poké bowls. All at reasonable prices, especially considering the setting. The service is friendly and efficient, always with a smile. Keep in mind that, for example, the entire sandwich and burger menu is only available at lunchtime; at dinnertime, only appetizers or tapas are available. I don't recommend the crepe, but I do recommend the waffle with Nutella and Chantilly cream.
