Ichem, the owner, is lovely. Out of season, he's in the kitchen, and it's a real treat for the taste buds!
During peak season, he has a very friendly and professional team.
The dishes range from good to excellent. The xipirons, the signature dish, are always delicious, and vegetarians are welcome. The varied menu is always succulent!
The magical setting adds the finishing touch... In short, you get the picture: a place not to be missed!

23/01/2026: I stopped by Hendaye on my layover on my way from Paris to San Sebastian.
There's a wine shop at the front of the entrance and a wine bar at the back.
They have a wide selection of wines by the glass, as well as beer and liqueurs.
They also have a wide selection of tapas. The portions might be a little too much for one person.
There didn't seem to be an English menu, but the staff were happy to assist me in English.
They were very friendly and I felt at home.😊

27/04/2026: As soon as I arrived at the restaurant, I ordered water and coffee with my family, and a waiter named Carlos forbade me from buying it because "it was very expensive," implying that we couldn't afford it, and we were practically thrown out of the restaurant in a bad way.

03/02/2026: My favorite restaurant in the area. Every time we come to Oloron, we dine at L'Alisson. The prices are reasonable for a gourmet restaurant. The food is always very fresh and full of flavor. The dishes are beautifully presented. A sure value.

07/07/2025: Very friendly little restaurant. From the €25 menu, I had mussels à la diva as a starter; excellent. However, the main course was squid. A huge surprise, really very little in the pan. Nothing to eat. And for dessert, a homemade tiramisu, which was also a real disappointment.
Otherwise, the waiters and waitresses were very decent.

22/04/2026: Hotel well located near the center of Ascain. Hiking trails start right from the hotel. Lovely view of La Rhune from my garden-facing room. Pleasant welcome. I recommend it.
