27/12/2023: We had a lovely gourmet moment by the fire Grilled andouillette for my son, black pudding for me: lovely original presentation, lots of taste, perfect mastery of seasoning, served quickly, with lots of smiling kindness! and very hot! then 2 delicious pears mixed with spices I will come back, for sure, I recommend!

10/08/2024: Très bel accueil de la part de la patronne. Les serveuses sont sympas, souriantes et pros. Les assiettes sont très bien garnies et très savoureuses. Le camembert rôti est excellent. Très bon rapport qualité-prix. Je recommande.

09/07/2025: A wonderful stay at Le Grand Monarque! Everything was perfect, especially the friendly and helpful staff. And, the location is great - restaurants etc in town are easily walkable. I highly recommend this lovely hotel!

07/07/2025: We stayed 1 night in the hotel Le Grand Monarque while traveling. It is located in the middle of the quiet village on the Indre Azay le Rideau, within walking distance of the castle of Azay. The room was comfortable, spacious and very clean. Beautiful bathroom with excellent shower. Slept very well in the excellent bed. Although the hotel is located in the middle of Azay, it was very quiet at night. Well-kept breakfast and friendly, smooth service. Very friendly staff. You can park your car for €7 in a closed, uncovered parking lot. Our congratulations to the management and the team!

11/05/2024: back in May, our comment does not change We had already come in October 2023, An enchanted break in an exceptional place steeped in history with a park and remarkable trees that invite you to stroll. Very warm welcome on arrival, very attentive and attentive staff. The products are local and quality. Royal breakfast and lots of attention from the person on duty. We hope to return soon

20/08/2024: Une salle kitsch à souhait et un accueil agréable. Le service est efficace. Cependant les plats sont gras et manquent de goût et d’assaisonnement. Fade et gras, c'est décevant.

15/09/2024: If you like to play 'guess what's on your plate', this restaurant is for you! We asked for a burger without onions…it arrived with onions. No problem, sent back to the kitchen! They kindly scraped the onions off the steak and sent it all back...with a few leftover onions, for the nostalgic side, no doubt. Second attempt? Jackpot! A bonus slice of cheddar and... fresh onions, as if we could never have enough! Fortunately, the waiter was friendly, too bad his colleague didn't take the same communication course.

20/08/2024: We sat outside and ordered coffee. Three different waiters approached us to order. After almost 15 minutes we left without coffee, very bad service.

20/09/2024: On a small busy square but without too much noise. Very warm welcome. At Little Care.

17/09/2024: Plus points, they looked after our bikes very well Our room was on the fourth floor and there was no lift. Breakfast was chaotic, no one seemed to be in charge and they kept running out of food. They promised gluten-free food which turned out to be dry crackers.
