19/02/2026: What a pleasure to return to this charming, vintage little brasserie on Wednesday, February 18th! It's perfectly preserved, with its bistro tables and zinc bar, complete with boxing gloves hanging next to the bottles of aperitifs and the article about this establishment that appeared in Var Matin (formerly La République du Var - La Provence). I'd like to take this opportunity to greet my talented colleagues (especially my excellent retired friend, Jacques Gantié, food critic) at this newspaper, now part of Nice Matin. The owner always provides a warm, courteous, quick, and friendly welcome, not to mention the home-style cooking, particularly the magnificent and delicious couscous that attracts a large number of regulars of all ages. And I couldn't even finish it, it was so generous! It's true that this couscous (served on Wednesdays and Saturdays) is a benchmark and truly unique! It's also beautifully presented in several courses. I finished with a delicious warm apple tart. Kudos to the chef! A truly excellent value for money, €24 including an aperitif, a good old-fashioned Suze, and coffee. As a result, we were compelled to return, if only to savor his renowned aioli on Fridays (with a small anisette) and to see his friendly owner again. Yes, there are still friendly owners out there!

22/05/2026: Located at the entrance to Bandol, this hotel enjoys a hillside setting, offering a peaceful and verdant atmosphere. It is also close to the village, the port, and restaurants, all easily accessible on foot, which is particularly convenient for fully enjoying your stay without needing a car. Some rooms are accessed via small private paths, surrounded by greenery, adding to the charm of the location and creating a pleasant sense of privacy. Most rooms offer a sea view, a true feast for the eyes. They are comfortable, well-equipped, and feature good bedding. A particularly thoughtful touch is the kettle stocked with tea, herbal tea, or coffee, to be enjoyed at your leisure on the private terrace. In the morning, weather permitting, breakfast can be enjoyed on the terrace overlooking the sea and the boats – a truly magnificent experience. The breakfast offers a sweet and savory selection of high-quality products, the perfect way to start the day. One slight drawback, however, concerns parking: it's not a proper parking lot, but rather spaces located along a small road, which can sometimes make parking tricky. Furthermore, the daily parking rate may seem a bit high. On the other hand, the room rates remain generally affordable, making this establishment a lovely place to enjoy Bandol in an enchanting setting.

14/05/2026: Upon arrival, the restaurant was completely empty, with no one to greet us. We even thought we'd come to the wrong place. There was no menu, so it was impossible to know the prices without asking the waiter. The food itself was quite good and well-presented. Luckily, there was bread to supplement the rather small portions. As for the desserts, they were poorly balanced. For €40 for the set menu, I think we have the right to expect much more.

02/05/2026: I've been to this restaurant twice. The terrace is lovely and sunny. The food is excellent. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Special mention for the Thai-style mussels! I'll definitely be back.

04/04/2026: A restaurant I highly recommend for its warm welcome, excellent service, and homemade food. Sea bream with baby vegetables, accompanied by a salad, followed by apple crumble with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. Delicious.

09/07/2025: We came here four years ago, and it was really good. We came back this year, and we bought a doughnut that wasn't fresh at all, completely dry. The Tropéziennes tart, on the other hand, was very good. They shouldn't sell fresher pastries at the same price anymore. When you buy something, you want to buy a fresh pastry.

08/07/2025: The tarte tropezienne is delicious but unfortunately leaves a bitter taste after a hurtful welcome from one of the saleswomen: I suffer from a vocal cord disability, therefore invisible, and this lady allowed herself to rudely insist on the fact that she could not hear me by calling out to her colleague and speaking about me (in front of me) in the third person... Her attitude did not change after I told her about it. I dare to hope that people with visible disabilities will be treated better by this person!

15/05/2026: My family invited me to L'Oustaou for my birthday this Friday, May 15, 2026. Everything was excellent. From the Oustaou non-alcoholic cocktails and mojitos, to the burgers and mussels, and finally the salted caramel and dessert platter. We really enjoyed the homemade fries 😊. The staff wished me a happy birthday when we had dessert. That was really nice. We highly recommend this restaurant.

18/04/2026: I enjoyed the mussels and fries and the aioli, but not so much the Niçoise salad. Note that the service was slow.

31/03/2026: We very much enjoyed our experience at L’Esquinade. After our first visit, we almost came every other day to this beach restaurant in the summer. The prises are just perfect for the food, the waiters are more than friendly and understanding and the atmosphere was lively. It is a cute place with a rusty but charming look and very good food. Even in spring it is to be recommended highly!

24/03/2026: I usually get a thick-crust pizza with parsley and garlic; it's delicious, and the cooking is always perfect thanks to that unusual horizontal oven. A wonderful place.
