17/09/2026: Honestly, it's not like home. Sorry, but it's really like a school cafeteria. Dry fish, terrible spinach, and the menu is really unclear. We only saw pork and fish, but there were other things too. We left hungry, and the man next to us felt the same. No, it's not like home at all, sorry. The staff were nice.

15/09/2026: Had the Black Angus Chateaubriand. Amazing. Best piece of meat I have eaten for a very long time, cooked and carved perfectly. The truffle and Parmesan fries were great, and the mashed potato is incredible. Excellent service from the staff, attentive but not invasive. Lovely room, too. Definitely recommend if you like your beef.

30/08/2026: I came to this city for a wedding with my cousins ​​and discovered this restaurant quite by chance, without any fuss… and honestly, what a wonderful surprise! We ate very well, laughed a lot, and had a fantastic time. The atmosphere is truly exceptional, very friendly and welcoming. You feel right at home. We had the chance to chat with the owners, who are absolutely lovely. They are down-to-earth and genuine, and it's a real pleasure to meet such authentic and friendly people. I highly recommend this place; I'll definitely go back if I'm ever in the area again!

22/08/2026: Two parking lots. Between the two parking lots, a path winds through the fir trees. Nicely shaded. Stroller accessible with several picnic tables. Activities: pedal boats, beach, treetop adventure course, mountain bike trails, paintball, and more. Paid parking with restrooms. The water was green; we couldn't swim. Swimming is prohibited due to water quality tests. A word of advice: check the water quality before you go. We visited on August 22nd.

20/08/2026: Beautiful setting! We wanted to swim in the free area, but unfortunately, cyanobacteria made it impossible. So we tried the filtered pool: very nice because of the different depths, perfect for the whole family! Despite the crowds, we still found more secluded areas where we could swim. Shaded areas for picnics and laying down towels are fantastic, especially during a heatwave! Perhaps adding a few changing cabins would be a nice touch. It's just a shame that parking and access to the filtered area are not free… luckily, though, the payment is for the whole day.

The welcome is always warm, and the owner is incredibly kind, smiling, and attentive to his customers. You feel comfortable every time you visit. 04/08/2026: A warm welcome, the dining room is spotless and beautifully decorated, there's a good selection on the menu, the red meat is of good quality, and the desserts are excellent. In summer, or whenever the weather is nice, the terrace is very pleasant.

Nico, the owner, is lovely! When you have a place like this in your neighborhood, you cherish it and enjoy it to the fullest.

10/10/2026: We've been coming regularly for two years, and yet our last three visits have been mediocre and disappointing. Between undercooked fries that gave us stomach problems the next day and extremely slow service for a restaurant with few customers, it was truly catastrophic. We almost left because after asking three different servers for barbecue sauce, none of them brought it to us, nor did they bring us dessert. Luckily, a waitress offered us dessert, realizing the wait was excessive, and she confided that each server only serves the tables they've assigned. So, no one was actually coming to serve us. A very selfish and almost discriminatory system. We've never experienced anything like it in two years; very disappointing, we won't be back.

12/07/2026: After buying some Navettes nearby, here we are, thanks to a friend from Marseille, in this very friendly neighborhood restaurant (a Jura native like me would never have stumbled upon it otherwise, and I'll definitely be back!). Panisses as an appetizer and the perfect dish of the day: beef carpaccio with sublime fries. The shop next door (a butcher and delicatessen) allowed me to buy a vacuum-packed roll of panisses, which I took back to Dole after dropping my friend off at her place. The service is perfect, and so is the air conditioning!

The service was pleasant and attentive, which greatly contributed to the convivial atmosphere of the meal. The waiter was smiling and friendly, which is always appreciated and immediately puts you at ease. As for the food, everything was delicious—flavorful, well-prepared dishes that were enjoyed by both my children and me. A truly wonderful experience from beginning to end.

28/09/2026: Chez Etienne is an institution, and there's always a queue outside, but we easily managed to get in for dinner, arriving shortly after opening. Right from the start, they made it clear: only cash is accepted, but no problem, there are ATMs nearby. We were greeted by the mischievous yet extremely efficient Nasser, a colorful character who was always on the go and didn't miss the opportunity to gently tease my companion with the kind of cheeky banter that characterizes Marseillais in the collective imagination. We were quickly seated with other customers at a table with a red checkered tablecloth (old-fashioned decor, of course). The place filled up very quickly, with a mix of regulars and tourists. On the wall, faded photos of the restaurant's history and the celebrities who have dined there. The noise level increased as the evening progressed. It's always packed, very noisy, and there's a crazy, joyful energy all around. The oven is working at full blast, and the pizzas come out uniformly crispy (i.e., not just on the edges). The seasoning is perfect, with just the right amount of garlic and herbs. There are only two topping choices, but that's more than enough: cheese or anchovies, with the option of a half-and-half. Both are very good, but I have a slight preference for the lighter anchovy pizza. It's worth noting, because it's not obvious: the pizzas aren't sold by "dish" but by "person." So, a "2-person" pizza is equivalent to two quarter pizzas per person for two people (which is one full pizza). It also seems that there are different pizza sizes depending on the number of people. The salad is also very generous. Next to us, our table neighbors ordered cuttlefish, which looked exquisite. The meat dishes also appeared to be of high quality. Indeed, the restaurant isn't just a pizzeria; it also serves other dishes. Despite the crowd outside and the quick service, we weren't rushed to pay the bill or clear the table. The staff is unpretentious but always very attentive and helpful. Dining at Etienne's was a truly unique experience, well worth the trip.
