28/04/2026: I ordered the crushed fillet and the sundae without caramel – it was a rip-off! I'll never go back there. Avoid it! It's a shame. I just saw that we could post photos; the fillet was completely flat and the bread was open on two sides, like it had torn. And the sundae, at the price it costs, with a barely visible line, is outrageous! Thanks for your feedback.

25/04/2026: I ordered a brunch breakfast at 9:30 am. There were about ten customers in the restaurant, but I had to wait 20 minutes... very long. There was a mistake with my hot drink. I ordered a cappuccino and received a coffee. When I asked for it to be remade, I only received milk instead... There was a serious lack of attention to detail... I can't imagine what it's like during peak hours. A disaster.

07/03/2026: This restaurant is Italian in name only. The decor is questionable, the staff unfriendly, and the food is extremely poor. The lasagna was swimming in cream (which is definitely not Italian) to the point of being inedible, and the side salad arrived without dressing. It was impossible to even get a vegetarian pizza "without mushrooms," clearly due to pre-prepared frozen ingredients. For a high price, the quality and service are unacceptable. A very disappointing experience—avoid it.

18/04/2026: During the holidays, on a Tuesday evening, we struggled to find an open restaurant in the area we wanted. Le Renard'eau, although listed as closed on Google, finally opened its doors to us. I think this was because the hotel guests were having dinner. Neither my friend nor I knew the place at all, so we were somewhat taken aback by this discovery. It's a place that's stuck in the past: you either love it or hate it. The menu is far too dense, with too much information, which isn't very inviting. The waitress did inform us upon arrival which dishes were unavailable, as deliveries were made on Wednesdays. Nevertheless, despite this, we couldn't order the dish we wanted (an appetizer with fries) because they were out of fries. This was only mentioned to us when we placed our order. So we opted for the Gaston Gérard-style sliced ​​chicken with vegetables. Disappointment: it was simply sliced ​​chicken with whole-grain mustard, served with mashed potatoes. I'm still looking for the promised Comté cheese… The restaurant has clearly been featured on a TV show on M6, but they should be careful not to overdo it. The service could have been perfect, especially considering there were only two tables occupied: the bread remained on the table until dessert, as did the bottles and glasses of fruit juice throughout the entire meal.

He served the crepe on a plate, making it more expensive, so thank you, but we had to leave. I should mention that there were hardly any customers there… This person was completely unprofessional, considering that €8 for a crepe and a can of soda is already very expensive for the quality of the crepe.

Our table of friends, who also hadn't been before, loved it. The owner was a bit reserved at first, it's true, but given the criticisms I'd seen, that didn't surprise me. He must have been a bit aloof. But after exchanging a few words, he was pleasant to talk to, even though, like with other restaurants, we don't come for the owner but for the food! We still don't understand your negative reviews of this place, unless you have some personal gain from creating a bad reputation. 19/04/2026: The restaurant is well located, near the castle. The welcome and service were quick, but my duck wasn't cooked enough, despite my request, and the pizza of the day was average. It seems that the quantity of meals served has come at the expense of quality. The ice cream was very basic, nothing fancy. The prices were reasonable, and the sangria was good.

18/04/2026: Disappointing "gourmet salad" for 16 euros! A complete joke: a bit of salad, some cheap foie gras, and three undercooked chicken breasts barely cooked enough to make a mock fight—nothing more! The tarte tatin was 7 euros and really not good. The service was passable, although it was difficult to flag down a waiter to get some bread. In short, they claim to be homemade, but it's not worth it. As a native of Pau, I won't be returning to this tourist trap anytime soon.

The waiter who served us was remarkably unfriendly. Not a smile, a curt and haughty tone, but above all: an absolutely pushy attitude. We'd barely touched our drinks before he was already pressuring us to order more. We truly felt like walking ATMs, begging to be squeezed dry. He relentlessly tried to push us to buy the most expensive drinks, with an extremely unpleasant insistence that bordered on harassment. The concept of a bar is to have a good time, not to feel attacked by a hapless salesman circling you like a vulture. If you're looking for a pleasant place to relax with a drink, run away. Save your money for an establishment where customers are greeted with a smile and where they don't pressure you to buy something every ten minutes. We'll never set foot in there again!
