30/09/2024: On y est allés car le restaurant qu’ont voulait était trop loin. Belle découverte mais sans +. Serveuse sympathique mais le lieu est un peu vieillot (comme figé dans le temps). Des plats simples et certaines spécialités fallait les commander à l’avance mais rien de bien grave car il y avait d’autres choix.

23/06/2025: Saleswoman who hardly wants to work if you say hello, no professionalism from all the salespeople of most of the stores, they don't know how to contact customers, I shouted goodbye 3 times without anyone answering me or showing me any intention, I don't see why I would spend my money in a shitty bakery... in addition you kill the real artisan bakers and pastry chefs with your frozen foods... to flee and avoid this kind of store...

28/09/2024: Excellent cuisine, very friendly and attentive staff, all in quick service. We even take leftovers in case we don't finish the plate! The possibility of ordering pizzas (excellent and plentiful) is pure joy. I highly recommend. 👌👌👌

21/09/2024: I recently dined at L'Escalet restaurant and was very disappointed with the experience. I ordered octopus and polenta, but the octopus totally lacked flavor, and the polenta was a mess, completely liquid. It is surprising that such a poorly prepared dish is served. In addition, no atmosphere is created by the restaurant. They seem to take advantage of the setting of the port of La Ciotat, attracting tourists thanks to the night market, without worrying about the quality of their offer. These visitors will leave without even knowing the flavor of good polenta. The service was not up to par either. We were placed in a corner, not really taken care of, and the waiter spent his time making jokes about the tourists, rather than focusing on the customers present. It would have been more appreciable if he invested more, especially towards local customers who expect a minimum of quality on their plate. To top it off, when choosing desserts, we were assured that everything was homemade. Unfortunately, the dessert we chose was covered in industrial whipped cream, which was very disappointing. In summary, Escalet no longer meets expectations, both in terms of quality of dishes and service. I no longer recommend this address.

23/09/2024: Bon moment en famille: plats tres bons, les serveurs sont très agréables. Nous avons apprécié les choix que propose le menu enfant ( enfin possibilité d avoir chose que frites glace!!), notre fille s est régalée. Nous reviendrons!!

21/09/2024: The service is impeccable! The waiters and waitresses are very pleasant, the atmosphere is good! But then the kitchen leaves something to be desired, the onions had a faded taste! The mussels marinière were bland, just creamy, if the mussels are bad I'll let you imagine the rest! If you go to the restaurant for the atmosphere and the service I recommend it, if it's for good food I don't recommend it!

13/06/2025: Called for an order of five pizzas. I was told they don't know if it will be possible because there are too many orders. What a shame for a pizzeria. Especially since it was barely 8:00 p.m. I don't recommend it at all; there's no professionalism.

06/11/2024: Bof, sans intérêt ... Salade de poulpe et calamar en persillade sans vraiment le goût. Les ingrédients mériteraient d'être grillés pour donner du croustillant. Et le balsamique aucun intérêt ... Les pâtes à la burrata, sans surprise.

21/09/2024: Arrived around 12:30 p.m., not many people (4 tables taken 👌) we sat on the terrace, very good location however the waiter does not indicate what is no longer available to eat on the menu, we waited almost an hour to get our dish! The waiter takes the order then comes back 20 minutes later to say that there is no longer what we ordered even though there is no crowd. Not professional at all. The food is good despite a very long service.

24/09/2024: Un martes por la noche fuimos ignorantemente a Zanzíbar sin darnos cuenta de que no había forma de comer sin reserva. Eran como las 8. 30 de la noche y el restaurante no estaba muy lleno. La camarera que nos recibió en la puerta era encantador. Regresé el miércoles por la mañana para hacer una reserva para el viernes por la noche. La misma camarera estaba allí y un joven se sentó más atrás en el restaurante, que más tarde me di cuenta de que era el propietario. Todo fue bien hasta que preguntaron qué tan grande era nuestra fiesta, dije 12, 6 adultos y 6 niños. La camarera me pidió que esperara diciendo que no suelen aceptar reservas para comensales con niños. Tuvo una larga conversación con el joven y, francamente, me horrorizaron sus expresiones faciales. No hablo francés, así que esa es mi pérdida, pero podría decir que este tipo no estaba muy interesado en alimentarme a mí y a mis 11 invitados de sus expresiones faciales. La camarera volvió a mí y me dijo que "The Boss" solo quiere comprobar el tiempo antes de decidirse a hacer una reserva para nosotros o no. Pensé que esto era extraño y pregunté qué tiempo tenía que ver con nuestra comida en este restaurante, la camarera explicó que es temporada alta y los fuegos artificiales están programados para el viernes por la noche, si el tiempo es bueno, los fuegos artificiales tendrán lugar y no nos aceptarán, si el tiempo es lluvioso y los fuegos artificiales se cancelan, harán nuestra reserva. Un minuto después gritó y la camarera dijo que harán nuestra reserva ya que se pronostica lluvia para el viernes por la noche. Cuando llegamos nos pidieron que nos aseguráramos de que los niños no corrían por el restaurante, lo que no hicieron, sin embargo, otros niños corrieron por el restaurante mientras estábamos allí, pero no se dijo nada. Pedí las "gambas de la Provenza" por 30 euros. Había 4 gambas de tamaño promedio en mi plato. Esta comida era completamente caro. Terminamos gastando casi 600 euros esa noche, incluyendo una propina de 55 euros para la encantadora camarera. Me pregunto si habrían sido tan renuentes a dejarnos comer allí si supieran cuánto íbamos a gastar. No impresionado - excepto por la camarera - comidas caras, vino y cerveza. Creo que tienen suerte de que no haya mucha competencia en la zona. La ubicación es buena, justo en la playa. Los fuegos artificiales tuvieron lugar el jueves por la noche, un día festivo en Francia, y nada el viernes por la noche. Le mencioné esto a la camarera y dijo que cometieron un error sobre qué noche se suponía que serían los fuegos artificiales.

19/09/2024: Pretentious wait staff who seemed annoyed to service us. Poured the wine and dripped it over the table after the pour. White wine served with ice. Bouillabaise had to be constantly warmed up as the broth came 1st and the fishes as a secondary.

06/09/2024: Meal on 5/09, 3 people. Perfect service, sea bream tartare as a really good starter. Small reserve for the entrecôte, certainly well cooked but still very tough. Desserts (lemon basil menu) huge and delicious.
