12/05/2026: A perfect stay, a relaxing atmosphere, excellent cuisine, a quality spa area, thank you for this pleasant moment.
02/05/2026: An ideal setting to relax and take time for yourself.
The location is perfect. The spa area and treatments are excellent. The restaurant service is very good. Moreover, we were welcomed by Florian, who took exceptional care of us throughout our stay!

Le Swan
Hyeres
20/11/2025: A nice little snack bar/brasserie in a pretty good location.
The food itself isn't anything special, and it's hard to compete with the three local seafood restaurants, which also offer excellent value for money! It's decent enough, but lacks presentation, and the service and welcome are pleasant. However, the prices are a bit high for fish fillets and salads, especially compared to Swan's!
30/10/2025: Lovely atmosphere under the pine trees by the marina. We had good food and drinks for a very reasonable price. Friendly service!

Le Relais du Morvan
Vezelay
28/04/2026: It has to be said that this picturesque place, Vézelay, is a bit run-down. The state of the streets isn't great! Many of the houses and shops are unoccupied and in a state of disrepair! You can tell you're in the last century, the era of Vidocq or stagecoaches! I visited this little town during a trip to Auxerre, so I stopped in Vézelay, which had been a long-held plan. The basilica was under renovation at the time! I didn't visit the inn, so I can't comment on that.
20/04/2026: I didn't use the hotel's services, just the restaurant. I enjoyed the food (including the vegetarian options), however, two shortcomings in the service at our table concerned me. The staff remained courteous and apologized, but offered no compensation.

28/02/2026: Always a very pleasant welcome. A neighborhood restaurant with excellent, freshly prepared food. The menu is varied.
We always enjoy having lunch there.
06/02/2026: Very good restaurant, the food is delicious with homemade dishes, plenty of seating both inside and outside, fast service, friendly welcome, and a tobacconist's shop is attached to the restaurant.

Les Tables Du Chef
Chamonix-Mont-Blanc
22/12/2025: A SHAME — RUN AWAY!
We chose Les Tables de Philippe because of its advertised "gastronomic" positioning, linked to Les Chalets de Philippe. The gap between the promise and the reality is unfortunately obvious.
We came via the Gourmet Passport, which has already allowed us to discover some excellent gastronomic establishments, including some at reduced rates. The price paid therefore has no bearing on the standards or the legitimacy of our opinion.
We were informed at the beginning of the meal that the current Italian chef had only arrived a few days or weeks prior. This information is important because it means that older photos and reviews visible on Google do not necessarily reflect what is offered today.
The menu offered during our visit was as follows:
– beef carpaccio,
– pumpkin risotto with sausage pieces,
– vitello tonnato, accompanied by raw vegetables (a simple bowl of salad combining lettuce and a little red cabbage),
– aged, but very young, cheeses,
– followed by a moist chocolate cake with yogurt sauce.
Overall, it's very classic Italian cuisine: recipes lacking any particular creativity, predictable flavors, basic textures, and a presentation without any noticeable effort. It's acceptable, but unremarkable, and far from the claimed gastronomic level.
The service was also subpar. One of the waiters spoke neither French nor English, only Italian, making any interaction difficult. His service was very abrupt, with no apparent etiquette. A second waiter was more conventional, pleasant, but offered nothing of value. No presentation of the dishes was offered: the plates were simply placed on the table, and the staff immediately withdrew.
During our conversation with the owner, he explained that "this isn't French gastronomy, but haute Italian cuisine," which he claimed was the work of a chef trained at one of Capri's finest schools. He also implied that, as holders of the Gourmet Passport, our comments were of little consequence and that the restaurant would always be full anyway. However, when we visited, the restaurant was far from full, which raises questions about the consistency of his claims.
The conversation took place in a tone that was not conducive to discussion and offered no real opportunity for self-reflection, further exacerbating our disappointment.
We didn't take any photos—or rather, we didn't even consider it—as the presentation of the dishes was so poor. To get an idea, simply search for the dishes listed above on Google and look at the first corresponding Google Images result.
Conclusion:
If you're looking for a truly exceptional gastronomic experience, both in terms of food and service, this isn't the place for you. However, if you're looking for classic, decent, but nothing more, dishes, then this is the right place for you.
21/12/2025: We would like to share our experience regarding our dinner at Les Tables de Philippe in Chamonix. We had booked a six-course tasting menu for €95. Upon arrival, we were informed of a change of chef, which we accepted without difficulty. However, a new five-course menu was offered in its place, at the same price.
Presented as a gourmet Italian menu, it unfortunately proved very disappointing. While the carpaccio was acceptable, it was rather simple. The next course, a pumpkin and sausage risotto, lacked any real finesse. The vitello tonnato was the most disappointing element: meat drowning in sauce, accompanied by a simple bowl of salad, whereas the menu advertised raw vegetables. As I don't eat raw vegetables, I asked for an alternative and was served mini-quiches that seemed to have been frozen, which is hardly acceptable in a restaurant claiming to be gourmet.
The cheeses were bland, and the dessert—a chocolate cake with a yogurt sauce—was something you'd expect from a brasserie. Considering the price of the menu, it was a complete disappointment.
Furthermore, the service was anything but gourmet.
We should point out that we had the Gourmet Passport, and therefore only one of the two menus was charged. However, our complaint is not at all related to the amount paid, but rather to the quality of the meal, which fell far short of the standards expected of a gourmet menu.
Finally, when we tried to express our disappointment to the owner, he was dismissive, arguing that having the Gourmet Passport didn't give us the right to complain. A regrettable and unprofessional reaction that only exacerbated our poor experience.

La bonne carte
Saint-Nectaire
03/05/2026: Music that is much less loud and more suited to the average age of the clientele would be appreciated, why not discreet music like a piano bar?
This casino really has the potential to become a very nice place to which we would want to return very often. ..
08/04/2026: The casino is very small but nice, and the staff are very friendly.

Le Pont Roupt

29/01/2026: It's more like a two-star than a three-star hotel. I was given a supposedly luxury room without being told it was a special room for disabled guests. While I have nothing against disabled people, it would have been helpful to be informed beforehand. The rooms are mediocre and often very noisy in the morning showers, with no hot water – in short, a disaster.
Not to mention the noise from the upstairs neighbor until midnight, when it sounded like she was moving furniture. The reception was pleasant enough, and the hostess isn't to blame, but overall, not a great experience.
15/01/2026: Very friendly welcome, rooms up to standard with the added bonus of a Nespresso machine in each room

Le Comptoir du Divino
Aix-En-Provence
13/04/2026: Finally, an establishment with impeccable decor, extremely well-maintained and clean, and a lovely, highly professional staff. The Saturday evening dinner and concert is always a success, blending charm and gastronomy. The dishes are sophisticated, featuring beautiful ingredients prepared with refinement. Lovely people, a consistently chic and respectful atmosphere—this place raises the bar for libertine nightlife in the PACA region. It's flawless.
P.S.: Big kisses, Maurice from S&M
05/04/2026: I confirm what the first comment says... we went there last night, and there are really several negative points. First, the prison-like door at reception—heyyy madam, you'll have to smile, show some warmth… she didn't smile, which made us uncomfortable, even though it was the first time we arrived. The prices are outrageous, no joke. Once is enough. It's not safe. There are old guys who feel entitled to grope you without asking your permission. It disgusts me so much. They take advantage of slightly drunk women, and nobody says anything. I find it extremely disturbing. And the hygiene? Don't even get me started. It ends up being a seedy club; you even have people leaving with other people's clothes—couples who aren't really couples. The "cuddle corners" are so cold, it's horrible. I won't be going back. I drove 45 minutes each way. Returning home with €130 in total... for a place that absolutely doesn't deserve these stars...

12/04/2026: This is the first time I've left a bad review, but not the first bad experience. We had a reservation for six people and were completely ignored (not even a hello). We asked to be seated outside. There were other people seated outside, but they still refused to serve us because we were "too far away." We politely asked if they could make an exception, and one of the managers said yes, but in the end, they never set the table. We had to get the menu ourselves (a menu with very few choices), and we finally left because they never came despite our calls. Avoid at all costs!
06/04/2026: €5.10 for a Coke Zero served in a warm glass (taken out of the washing machine right in front of me!) by a waiter who balked at changing the glass and instead chose a lukewarm one while grimacing! Not great!

Restaurant de l'Europe

09/04/2026: We booked a one-night stay at this hotel. No one was there to greet us upon arrival (we left our key on the counter), and no one was there to check out. The room was a decent size, but the bathroom was ridiculously small and very old; thankfully, the bed was comfortable. The room was incredibly noisy; it felt like we were in the hallway.
It wasn't worth the price of the reservation.
09/04/2026: An exceptional dining experience from the very first moment.
We were welcomed and taken care of immediately upon arrival — with a level of attention that feels natural rather than forced. It is clear that this is a family-run place where presence and genuine care for guests truly matter.
The menu was introduced in a calm, clear and thoughtful way, which — especially for English-speaking guests — is far from common and very much appreciated.
The presentation, execution and flavors of each dish were outstanding. Refined, precise, yet without unnecessary pretension — simply excellent cuisine that speaks for itself.
Portions were generous, and the pricing felt entirely fair for the level of quality delivered.
A truly memorable experience.
Highly recommended.

Le Bistrot Saint André

15/08/2025: A very good experience; the mussels in cream sauce were excellent, and they served mojitos as an aperitif with their own special touch. Very welcoming staff 🙂
14/08/2025: Absolutely avoid this place... following our visit, my wife suffered food poisoning from a salad; as for me, my mackerel was served with new potatoes swimming in butter, with no lemon whatsoever to accompany the fish; and my café liégeois was completely melted under the pretext that they added real coffee (perhaps it would be wise to let it cool before adding it to the ice cream).

Le Clos Gourmand
Vaulx-En-Velin
20/01/2026: Honestly, perhaps the best gravlax I've ever had. It almost made me forget that we waited 15 minutes before being served (but keep in mind we were the first customers, so let's forgive them). We ate upstairs, at the "gastronomic" menu.
I ordered a quenelle lyonnaise, my first time having one in a restaurant. I can say I was perhaps expecting a more generous portion, but the porcini mushrooms were delicious, and I finished the bread with the sauce! Finally, the dessert, the chestnut cream, was divine. Honestly, a great experience right near the metro. However, I think it's still a bit pricey.
20/12/2025: A very good restaurant, highly recommended, and a very professional welcome.

19/04/2026: We booked pitch 432 for our caravan for two nights, accompanied by our two Beauceron dogs.
Superb spot, courteous and efficient staff, spotless communal areas. Various facilities and food options: very good.
We'll be back!
17/04/2026: 4-star campsite, but where are the 4 stars...?
- Cold showers every day during our 3-day stay. And at any time of day or night. Frankly, considering the price per night, a hot shower would be the bare minimum.
- We heard there have been thefts at the campsite. Not exactly the most peaceful stay knowing that...
- Limited sanitary facilities at the campsite, and they're not even spotless... at that price per night, it would be nice to not have filthy toilets!
- In short, honestly, 1 star for the location, which is exceptional, but really, if you want to line the pockets of unpleasant people who have no sense of hospitality, go for it.
