02/12/2025: We arrived on a Saturday evening to eat with friends, but by 8:30 pm we were the only ones there. They were out of both draft beer and the ribeye steak… and for dessert, they were so unavailable that we were left with only two choices. I think that's a bit much for a Saturday night! Otherwise, the pizzas were relatively good.

23/09/2024: Lots of fried food and what isn't fried lacks finesse. High prices for what they offer. Our bread was completely dried out and the water tasted very much like chlorine. With a starter and some wine you can easily spend 50 to 60 euros per person. I think the oysters we ate had been open for a long time. I was sick from it during the night. Fish was fried too hard, risotto was not creamy but dried out. The fries were tasty but extremely oily. Alioli was very tasty. The waiters were friendly and quick in service. But all in all, I don't really understand the rave reviews. Fewer dishes on the menu and more attention to cooking and finishing would probably improve things.

26/11/2024: We booked a Junior Suite for 2 nights. The building was gorgeous although on a road, the 10 rooms face in the opposite direction and even with windows open we were not disturbed by traffic noise. The room was generous in size and comfortable with two windows looking out over the river on the first floor and a large comfortable bed. My only comment was it was rather dark due to the choice in decoration, the bathroom had a large walk-in shower and good lighting. Wifi was available which worked well, there was also a coffee machine and a minibar. There was a quiet seating area located at the top of the stairs for guests and plenty of outside seating on the terrace overlooking the river. We had dinner at the hotel on the first night. The menu was small but carefully considered. There were only two other couples eating that evening - which was a shame, although on the second evening the restaurant was much busier. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Service was friendly and unhurried. To start we had: L'asperge, filet de canette séchée, crumble de parmesan Chantilly a l'aillet (Asparagus, dried duck fillet, parmesan crumble, spring onion chantilly) and Taboulé de quinoa asiatique, variation de radis, Œuf confit au soja (Asian quinoa tabbouleh, radish, soy confit egg) Followed by: Le veau confit, croustillant aux olives, Déclinaison brocolis / pack Choi, jus corsé (Veal confit, crispy with olives, broccoli variation / pak choi and Seared Scallops (was not on the menu) maybe a ‘special’ Desserts were: L'ananas poché, avocat épicé, sorbet ananas Meringue soufflée bergamote (Poached pineapple, spicy avocado, pineapple sorbet Bergamot soufflé meringue) and Le mille-feuille tout chocolat, Sablé cacao, grué, glace praliné/pécan (The all-chocolate mille-feuille, Cocoa shortbread, nibs, praline/pecan ice cream) After a good sleep we had breakfast in the morning consisting of croissants, bread, yogurt etc. The hotel is well located to visit the many sights within this wonderful area and we very much enjoyed our stay. The only negative was Check-in was frustratingly late at 17.30!

17/11/2024: We had lunch this summer and were very satisfied with our stay. So we decided to invite a couple of friends to let them know your table. Done this Wednesday, November 13. It is with great pleasure that I confirm the very good quality of the dishes we tasted. Retired restaurant chef, well done for the work done, presentations, little touches of appetizer and end of meal, young women attentive service with their little hesitations which confirm the interest they have in their profession. Some products were missing: salmon, replaced by excellent sea bream, not enough sturgeon, no problem on the contrary it proves that nothing is lying around in the fridges. 30/08/2024: My favorite this year. Impeccable service with well-dressed waiters, attentive to your needs and even attentive to your needs if you wish. The room is splendid and the terrace has a breathtaking view of the coastline. An open prawn starter with its shell juice so good that you regret not having taken 3 for yourself. Wine list for the most demanding. In short, my favorite.

12/11/2024: Devoir payer en supplément le pain et le beurre....un peu too much... Sinon les sardines étaient excellentes. Les huîtres délicieuses. Le verre de bordeau blanc très bien servi. Au soleil sur la terrasse. Et après manger il y a un lavabo avec savon...on peut manger ses sardinesxavec les doigts.

01/11/2024: Restauration sur un bateau avec terrasse au bord du port de La Rochelle,près des tours. Huîtres très charnues,excellentes plus salées que chez nous (44)couteaux et poulpes à la plancha: un régal un bon moment pour nous et un concept sympa ! Prix corrects

13/09/2025: At €9.60, the most expensive half-pint of IPA in the city center... For an industrial beer. The day before its permanent closure, there was a 45-minute wait before being served, a waitress who didn't remember the order, and Sophie who didn't even give a hand to her struggling employees... A bar closed in winter and therefore not participating in the life of the neighborhood... The only positive point on the menu are the micro-exhibitions and regular concerts, rare in the city. A bar I won't miss! Have a good trip, Sophie!

20/09/2024: Superb discovery of this small, out-of-the-way restaurant but so friendly, exceptional value for money! Cuisine sought after and really great! A little minus on the waitress who has absolutely no knowledge of the dishes or the products! But excellent food!
