09/03/2026: The setting is evolving rapidly; it's promising and comfortable, and the staff is very pleasant. The menu is small but offers something for everyone at very reasonable prices. In short, a great time, and not just for golfers—open to everyone on sunny days. The terrace is fantastic. Every time I visit my mother, who lives nearby, it's a pleasure.

04/04/2026: In La Rochelle for a few days, we first came on Wednesday evening as a couple. We appreciated the staff's friendliness so much that we came back last night with friends! If you're looking for a unique place to eat, and especially a place where you're welcomed with smiles and warmth, look no further! The folks from Niort 😉

29/03/2026: We received a very poor welcome last night: they took the time to find a table for the four young women in front of us, who had come without a reservation, but as for us, they simply said, "I won't get anything for you..." while barely looking at us and immediately addressing the people behind us... It's time to change professions if you're not capable of welcoming customers (without whom you are nothing) with a little courtesy!

30/12/2025: We received a very warm welcome at this lovely little wine bar. The service was friendly and very efficient for our large table of eight; we didn't even have time to get thirsty! And we had a delicious meal to boot: excellent oysters, superb truffle ham, and good bread. It was well worth the trip.

13/10/2025: Welcomed with a smile by Arthur, the owner. A beautifully decorated room, expert advice, especially on wine, and cuisine featuring fresh, local produce. A warm, unmissable address in La Couarde, where you'll feel right at home.

22/03/2026: We wanted to order two pizzas to take away at lunchtime, but the manager's response was categorical: a complete refusal on the grounds that reservations were being taken and that dine-in customers shouldn't have to wait. Yet, we are customers just like everyone else. We never asked for priority; if we had sat down, we would have been served. It's regrettable that a takeaway service—which is quick, profitable, and doesn't involve washing up—is refused in this way, especially since at 1:30 pm, many tables were still available. Important point: we are not tourists passing through. This place unfortunately reflects a certain kind of business-oriented approach in Royan: a real disaster. My advice: avoid this place and support restaurants that still have the desire to work and a passion for their craft.

29/03/2026: Friendly atmosphere and warm welcome. We had a great time. The food is simple, but the portions are generous and very tasty.

23/02/2026: Excellent service! Kudos to the waitress who managed the full restaurant with patience and a smile. The meal was generous and very good. We were just a little disappointed by the burger, which wasn't up to the standard of the other dishes. Children's menu offered: steak frites, syrup, and a scoop of ice cream.

06/11/2025: Le Comptoir de l'Océan has everything to please us: the location with its breathtaking ocean view. Don't hesitate to go for a drink with your feet in the sand and admire the sunset. The cocktails are good, and then head over to the terrace to enjoy a delicious meal. We've been there several times with my wife, family, and friends. Kudos to the whole team, especially during the summer season when it's not easy! Looking forward to seeing you again when you reopen.

09/04/2026: The atmosphere with the servers was excellent, with plenty of humor for both children and adults. The service was very fast, perhaps too fast...??? We went to eat there the weekend of the kite festival. So, did that influence our judgment...? First of all, the menu we saw on the website was different once we sat down, and the prices were also changed, especially the children's menu, which went from €12 to €15... Then, the desire to do too much to make a big profit, I think, compromised the quality. I tried the prawns with "crying tiger" sauce. Having tried this sauce at other restaurants, I know it was much spicier. Furthermore, the prawns arrived barely warm, and by the time I'd peeled them... the meal was cold... The same went for the daily special, which didn't even require peeling. As for dessert, the "chef's surprise" at €9 turned out to be just a macaron, admittedly quite large, but for the price, rather simplistic and lacking in flavor, accompanied by non-homemade whipped cream.

14/04/2026: A lovely restaurant that makes you want to go in… a very welcoming young woman told us to come back in 30 minutes, so we didn't hesitate. Plus, it was busy, so that must be a good sign… unfortunately, once inside, we were greeted by a much colder waiter who seemed to be bothering us. Oh well, no big deal! We've been through this before… but what a disappointment the food was! The prices are clearly stated, so we know it's not cheap, but we expect something decent in return… Around 20 euros for carbonara that was clearly reheated and dry… same for the pesto ones… at that price, it's a rip-off… the cod had a pretty good sauce, but the rösti was completely burnt with the promised vegetables that were nowhere to be seen… oh yes, the burger was very decent, but also nearly 20 euros… in short, the suckers paid and left disappointed… a small comment to the waiter who simply ignored it… I'm rarely disappointed by restaurants, but here the value for money is truly catastrophic….

14/04/2026: Lunch outside of weekends but during school holidays. I ordered the homemade steak tartare, which I didn't prepare (no problem): good meat, well-seasoned, with fries (not homemade) but nice and crispy. Dessert: Dame Blanche (good) and a gourmet coffee (also good). Friendly service and relaxed atmosphere. Thank you.

03/04/2026: Passing through St. Jean by bike (in the rain), we discovered this crêperie, a welcome place to stop and stay dry. We received a very warm welcome, and they offered to let us hang our things to dry (a small detail, but very kind). We also had a delicious meal. The galettes were excellent and beautifully presented. The staff were very friendly. We will definitely be back.
