04/09/2026: A typical tourist trap. As is usual in France, we were asked if we wanted water... which is also usual in France: that you get a bottle of tap water (free of charge). Certainly due in part to the language barrier, but also out of sheer rudeness towards tourists, we were given 1 liter of still water, which cost a whopping €6.50. The food: well, let's just say it wasn't great. I had salmon wrapped in parchment paper; the menu didn't specify what was included. There was some unidentifiable vegetable. Overcooked, fried to death. The salmon was okay. For dessert: profiteroles with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce. I'm in the land of desserts and pastries, but how do you get profiteroles so dry? The service was okay. The food arrived quickly. It would be nice if everything actually arrived at the same time. Oh well. Not recommended.

22/06/2026: Small, simple restaurant, everything very fresh and delicious, directly from the producer, also selling fresh produce, fair prices, we were greeted warmly, debit card accepted. We will definitely come back. Update: Unfortunately, it seems to be permanently closed, what a shame. We were there in June (the roof had partially collapsed) ☹️

01/09/2026: Keep walking! The beach bar is a mere shadow of its former self! I spent so much time there as a child... Eating ice cream after the beach, karaoke, etc... well, I'll never set foot in there again! The service was absolutely terrible!!! We arrived for a drink after the beach, and the first comment was, "We shouldn't have moved a table," even though there were nine of us there for drinks (it was 6 pm, the terrace was empty!). The first time we were told, "But you have to leave by 7 pm, I have to set the table... Okay... Why not." My two cousins ​​arrived; it was one of their birthdays. They ordered a pint, which they practically had to gulp down because at 6:50 pm the waiter came to tell us we had to clear out!! What a welcome!! If we were planning to stay for dinner, forget it; we won't be spending our money there anymore! Last year, the waiter was unpleasant again over a chair/table issue, simply because we wanted to be seated for a drink! Wow, we're too demanding! Just so you know... There are plenty of other bars where you can still find the Oléron atmosphere and ambiance that I love so much.

23/05/2026: A wonderful discovery. The welcome was perfect, the service impeccable, and the food delicious. The setting and space are truly pleasant. The staff were friendly and welcoming. I had a really lovely dinner. I had prawn ravioli and chicken supreme. I didn't order dessert, but seeing the daily specials served at other tables, they looked mouthwatering, and the containers were all emptied by the customers.

18/05/2026: Well-located restaurant with a small menu. Friendly staff! We were just expecting a little more flavor. Disappointed by the quality of the mussels; they were small and white.

23/08/2026: Despite our late arrival (we were turned away from all other restaurants as there were eight of us – five adults and three children), we were greeted with humor. The dishes on the menu were very, very good. The owner and staff were incredibly friendly. We highly recommend it for both its friendly atmosphere and its delicious food.

30/08/2026: Good atmosphere, lovely view of the gutter. Seafood platter for the aperitif was fine. We chose mussels with blue cheese for our main course, but there was very little sauce... Still very good overall.

The portions are generous, the value for money is truly excellent, which is becoming rare these days. The service is top-notch; the waitresses are very friendly, professional, and welcoming. A great place that I recommend without hesitation!

20/08/2026: We had a lovely time in a pleasant setting, and the food was good, although the fries were really not good (mushy and tasteless). I think an internship at McDonald's to learn how to cook fries properly would be beneficial. The cocktails and desserts were very good.

23/08/2026: Like many other reviewers, we were surprised by the portion sizes compared to the price. Perhaps the owners are used to customers who don't question the price and prefer them to others. But for some, a good restaurant like yours represents a "little indulgence," a treat. So, paying €24 for an eggplant without any sides and leaving hungry is disappointing. I'm a vegetarian, not on a diet. Furthermore, when the starter (Gazpasho) has more flavor than the main course, it's surprising, but let's just say that's a matter of personal taste. It's a shame because this doesn't reflect our initial impression from our visit in 2022. Is this related to the change in management?

06/09/2026: Disappointed: the service was too slow (40 minutes between courses), two out of four dishes were cold, and the dining room was extremely hot because the air conditioning wasn't working! In short... a shame.

25/06/2026: We moved here two years ago, and these are still the best pizzas we've had in the entire area, all the way to La Rochelle. A great place. Pizza for him, burger for me. Homemade pizza dough, crispy yet soft. The pizza was generously topped with very high-quality ingredients. The chorizo ​​was mild but very flavorful. The burger was cooked exactly as ordered, tender and juicy. The fresh fries were the best I've had in a long time.

25/08/2026: We had a very pleasant evening at Moulin de la Baine. The location is, of course, superb; we had a table overlooking the Charente River. The service was attentive and efficient. And the dishes were very refined, especially the octopus and the lamb shank, which was cooked to perfection. I highly recommend it.
