03/06/2026: An address you almost want to keep secret. Perfect for a relaxing break away from La Rochelle. Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent value for money.

01/06/2026: We stayed two nights at this castle hotel and, overall, we had a pleasant stay. The setting is magnificent, the castle is very charming, and the room and bathroom were lovely. However, a few things could be improved. Cleanliness was generally acceptable, but the curtains and the radiator in the room could use better maintenance. The pool area is pleasant and relaxing. On the other hand, the hammam doesn't run continuously and needs to be switched on by reception each time it's used. This involves a lot of back and forth and isn't very convenient when the staff isn't available. A repair or a more autonomous operation would be appreciated. As for breakfast, we found it quite expensive for what was offered. The savory options were limited: no scrambled eggs, no bacon, and the bread seemed stale. The reception could also be improved. The receptionist was polite, but we didn't experience a genuine sense of customer service. For example, we had difficulty using the egg cooker, and after it malfunctioned, no alternative was offered for preparing eggs. Finally, we believe the property has enormous potential. The grounds are beautiful, and it would be worthwhile to offer more entertainment, activities, or even on-site dining. Currently, the experience mainly consists of sleeping and enjoying the pool, which is pleasant, but there's so much more to offer in such an exceptional setting. In short, a very beautiful place with a lot of potential, but several details could be improved to truly make the stay live up to the setting.

18/07/2025: 16-euro starter: 6 fritters, 2 small Caribbean black puddings, inedible cod flakes, tasteless slices of cold cuts that I didn't eat either, and salad. Main course: pork colombo with sweet potato and carrot puree The pieces of pork were either too fatty or too dry, but I was able to enjoy the sauce with bread and the homemade mashed potatoes, which were decent.

30/05/2026: We had lunch and dinner two days in a row, and each time we found the meals excellent. The female staff were very friendly. In short, top-notch.

11/05/2026: Honestly, a great experience at this Subway. The restaurant was clean, the atmosphere relaxed, and the staff pleasant. Another big plus: they accept holiday vouchers, which is becoming quite rare these days. We took the €6 Subway deal, and honestly, for the price, it was more than reasonable. They often have good offers, so it's a great way to eat without spending too much. It's still a classic Subway, but for a quick dinner, it's efficient and gets the job done.

25/04/2026: Even though the neighborhood is nice, the experience was far from satisfactory. The service was incredibly slow despite the restaurant being almost empty, and I got the impression that no one really cared about the customers. The dishes lacked flavor and arrived lukewarm, as if they had been sitting in the kitchen for too long. For the price, I expected something much better. I understand that everyone has an off day, but this was truly awful. I don't plan on going back.

23/04/2026: Thank you for this menu advertised as "homemade"... when, on the plate, everything seems to come from industrial products. It's frankly disappointing and misleading. Even the fries are frozen—it's hard to call it homemade under these conditions. A little more transparency and honesty towards customers would be truly appreciated. An experience to avoid in its current state.

21/12/2025: Well, finding an open restaurant on Sunday, December 21st, in the south of Île d'Oléron, seems like a near-impossible feat. The café on the square is open, the welcome is warm, and the service is impeccable. A simple and pleasant moment. A hamburger and fries, a glass of Bordeaux, a coffee, and that's all it takes.
