Very hot outside. 58 euro menu, probably a poor choice on my part, the free-range egg.
Vomiting and nausea 2 hours after the meal.
A distant welcome.
06/07/2025: It's impossible to book for one person, even multiple times, but no problem for two.
Is this segregation?

11/03/2026: A very pleasant place with beautiful old photos of the city. The food is excellent and regional. Generous and flavorful dishes. The owner and waitress are super friendly. The setting around the restaurant is superb. 5 stars for this restaurant 😉

The only downside: the last few times I went, even though it was a regular thing, they didn't offer a free chocolate after paying...

They have daily specials and set menus, and then pizzas.
You can go with children and strollers.
The food is great.
15/11/2025: The service was impeccable, the pizzas excellent, and the tiramisu was amazing! We ate there two nights in a row because we enjoyed it so much.

08/04/2026: Wow ! Betty and Pascal are the most wonderful hosts. They looked after our group of 6 with a great level of care and attention. Pascal was super helpful with allowing us to store cars and bikes for our Camino Trail. The walk to the hotel from St Jean Pied de Port is very scenic and not too long. Best of all is Pascal's cooking - incredible quality and such an amazing dinner. Thanks to you both for your hospitality.

17/03/2026: Excellent stay at the Auberge l'Estanquet in Urt! The staff were incredibly friendly, the room was spotless every day, and there was a lovely view of the village square.
I ate very well throughout my stay; the meals were hearty and delicious! Absolutely nothing to complain about; the all-inclusive package for around €100 per night is fantastic value for money, well done! 🌶️

14/03/2026: The bakery is well-stocked. A wide selection of breads, pastries, and sandwiches. I tried the one with Tomme cheese and country ham, and a Basque cherry cake. Delicious.

04/04/2026: Perfect spot to stop for a beer and a slice of Spanish omelet. The service on the terrace was a bit slow, but the barmaid was excellent and more than made up for the delay.

Don't believe the previous comment from a Bordeaux eco-conscious hipster.
29/03/2026: We had lunch as a family on Sunday; the meal was delicious, the day was sunny, and we ate on the terrace. The cuisine is traditional and of high quality. Be warned, the portions are generous! 😉
