05/12/2025: In my opinion, it's a charming place, especially the ceilings and the bathroom, which is outdoors. The hot chocolate, similar to Cola Cao, costs over €8... excessive for the quantity and flavor. I wouldn't return, not because of the price, but because of the quantity and taste.

Some excellent oysters as starters, among the best I have tasted.
And finally, the very good homemade profiteroles!
Nothing to complain about the service and the staff, very attentive and responsive!
Expensive price but justified given the quality of the dishes.
28/08/2024: There were 5 of us. Service, setting, starters, main courses, desserts, everything was very good. Around €50 per head.

28/08/2024: "O Gascon" is a restaurant that we highly recommend and which, in addition to its gastronomic offer, convinces with the total commitment of its service staff. Always friendly and attentive, they even lent us their own jackets when the temperatures dropped after dark. In addition to the very successful "Magret de Canard" accompanied by a red wine from the region, it is worth mentioning in particular the "Cassoulet avec son thigh de Canard" which, as a delicacy foreign to the region (in fact originating from Carcassonne ), is presented as the specialty of the house at the risk of triggering a diplomatic crisis. On the taste level, a multitude of senses are attuned and always pushed with distinction, so that this supraregional dish is conceived as the ambassador of distant homelands.

11/11/2024: Hard and chocolaty croissant which has halved its size, its quality but not its price, you don't care about the consumer's face, already that the customer service is disastrous (a hello limit half the time).
With the quality of a supermarket you have no interest in buying here, an establishment to avoid because it has deteriorated so much.

On the menu faux filet on the plate a small piece of meat which had nothing to do with a false filet small sole without taste frozen fries without taste at 13 euros all
I have not gone beyond this experience
In addition, credit card did not work

It's just to get black I guess at the neighbor's I had a coffee and it worked
The unpleasant boss came with a piece of plastic to show me that it was indeed the sirloin and offered nothing else.

11/11/2025: This restaurant in Saint Palais offers a very generous wood pigeon menu. It includes vegetable soup as a starter, eel as a first course, wood pigeon with capucin sauce as a main course, an assortment of desserts, and coffee. The wood pigeon with capucin sauce is prepared in front of you over a fireplace in the traditional way. The result is remarkable and absolutely delicious. Reservations are recommended. The dining room can be a bit noisy when the restaurant is full. The welcome is warm and the service impeccable.

08/09/2024: Arrived by chance in front of this nice restaurant which caught our attention by the people filling it. Full restaurant!...but at our request the boss agreed to place us outside under the awning despite the closed terrace. A simple menu and quality cuisine at a very reasonable price. Plus fast and friendly service. We recommend and we will come back!!!
07/09/2024: Comme c'était super avant hier soir , on y retourne aujourd'hui 😁 j'ai dégusté un excellent axoa, un gâteau basque à la cerise (rhooo...👍) et une petite sangria qui se boit sans soif 😊

29/12/2025: We had lunch at this restaurant today. The welcome was warm and the staff were really nice, but we were very disappointed with the pizzas… far too few toppings, they lacked flavor, which is a shame… not to mention the numerous flies.
29/11/2025: The 5 stars for the meal are well-deserved because it was truly delicious!
Regarding the service, it took 40 minutes to get our order taken! And even then, we had to ask for it to be taken...
It's a shame because this place is losing its quality of service and its clientele.

12/06/2025: First experience at Pilota (and the last)
This is the first time I've sent a dish back to the kitchen twice in a row. €23 for a duck breast: the first was tiny (the height of irony for a restaurant that serves the Pau section: a rugby player would frown at such a small breast) and overcooked (confirmed by a waitress who was apologetic). The second breast was ice cold... The meat wasn't very good quality and wasn't tender. The third breast was well cooked but the taste wasn't there. When it came time to pay, there was no goodwill gesture, and the server assured me that the first was well cooked (which is completely false). I even got a "everything went well, except for the breast?" No excuse. The second server even offered to show me the first duck breast again to prove it was indeed rare (FYI, when the meat isn't rare but gray throughout, it's not rare).
I regret going to a restaurant to eat an expensive dish that would have been tastier and much cheaper at home...
The blue cheese sauce was made with partially melted, rubbery cheese.
The only positive: the fries were good.
29/05/2025: A very good meal and a very pleasant welcome. A responsive team and refined cuisine.
I recommend it without hesitation.
