25/05/2026: The meal was very good. However, the ice cream, prepared by only one person, meant there was a delay between each serving. Given the current heat, it would have been more sensible to bring them all out at once to avoid the first customers finishing before the last ones were served. A smile isn't the only guarantee of a warm welcome, but it's the first impression.
I'm not hiding behind Google. I'm sharing my opinion to help others make a more informed choice.

08/02/2026: Very pleasant terrace. The staff were very kind: as soon as I arrived, they brought a bowl of water for my two little ones.
I had a good meal there, and the waitress/waitresses were always smiling.

28/05/2026: We had a lovely welcome on arrival, we were seated promptly, we had a couple of questions about the menu, our server answered the questions and explained the menu in detail, the food was of good quality and my meal was perfect, my wife thought her portion was small for the price but admitted it tasted great, the puddings were very tasty, we would return.
24/05/2026: I had dinner there one evening.
I was very disappointed by the food, which I found very mediocre considering the prices.
I found two hairs in one of the dishes.
The staff were completely unfriendly.
There was no atmosphere at all.
I won't be going back.

30/12/2025: Excellent experience at a roadside restaurant! Even outside of normal hours and with the kitchen officially closed, they agreed to serve us a grilled steak with Roquefort sauce on the side, accompanied by a simply divine salad, rice, tagliatelle pasta, and French fries.
The beers were great, and the lady who served us was very friendly, making an effort to speak to us in Portuguese.

25/04/2026: Excellent experience: delicious and refined dishes, prepared with care and quality ingredients. The service is professional, attentive, and pleasant. A very good restaurant that I recommend without hesitation.
10/04/2026: If you don't want customers for a drink, don't accept them. It's very disrespectful to let tables that came after us go, when we've been waiting for a good 20 minutes. The server is incompetent even though there aren't even 10 tables on the terrace.

22/12/2025: We really enjoyed it. We ordered a cheese board and a delicious Camembert with honey. The staff were very friendly and spoke Spanish. It had a peaceful atmosphere and wasn't overrun with tourists.

02/05/2026: After a somewhat mixed first visit in August 2024, we returned for a stay in Béarn. For me, Le Chalet is now the best restaurant in Salies, thanks to the quality of the ingredients, the superb decor, and the ambiance, which this time was a very pleasant and mellow concert – thank you Rosewoodcover! 😉 The owners are incredibly attentive, and it's clear they're invested in their establishment, as are their employees. I highly recommend it! 😊

20/05/2026: Fantastic! We shared six delicious oysters from Les Halles, followed by grilled mussels with fries, and finally a chocolate shell filled with chocolate mousse and caramel—a delight served with whipped cream. We also had sangria and beer as an aperitif, and a glass of white wine to accompany the mussels.
The servers were very pleasant. I highly recommend it.

09/05/2026: The ice cream was dirty inside when I picked it up. I asked, and they told me it was from the pollen! 😒 Plus, there was very little of it, and the yogurt flavor was practically tasteless. The poor service and the response were evident.
I don't recommend it; there are many other ice cream shops in Bayonne.
08/05/2026: We ordered two crepes.
You can't see them making them, but it seemed like they were already cooked and were just being heated and filled.
They were good value for money (€3.50).

13/01/2026: Arrived on a Tuesday around 12:30 PM, not many people there.
We were seated immediately, our order was taken, and our drinks and food arrived quite quickly.
The server was attentive, no complaints there.
The portions and prices were very reasonable; we left more than satisfied for €20-25 per person including drinks.
The Paradise and Pataterie mocktails are really good!
A great rediscovery of this chain.
