21/12/2025: Restaurant located in Sainte-Geneviève-des-Bois (91), opposite the train station. Very warm welcome, perfect service, and a good selection of dishes. Excellent cuisine in every aspect: quality, freshness, presentation of the dishes, and exceptionally fresh and delicious ingredients. I highly recommend this restaurant. Very good value for money.

16/01/2026: 5 PM, a quick beer break with friends, 5:30 PM (ladies and gentlemen, we're closing in 10 minutes) even though closing time was listed as 7 PM. Something's not right here. Tourists, on the other hand, are treated much more leniently. We won't be going back.

16/01/2026: We came for a drink at 5 pm and the owner told us to leave because he was closing, even though it says 7 pm. Tourists are treated better, that's it, I won't be coming back. PS: There were four of us.

Every year we visit them from Italy for the food (of the highest level, fish but also meat of excellent quality) and for the courtesy, kindness of the staff. We recommend it, you will love this restaurant and also the beautiful region of Charente. Chaque année, nous allons les trouver en venant d’Italie à la fois pour la nourriture (de très haut niveau, le poisson mais aussi la viande d’excellente qualité) et pour la courtoisie, la gentillesse du personnel. Nous vous recommandons, vous allez adorer ce restaurant et aussi la belle région de Charente.

23/01/2026: There were two of us, and we ordered two different dishes. I ordered skate wing (excellent). It's a shame the accompanying mashed potatoes weren't hotter. My husband ordered beef with sautéed potatoes. The meat arrived with mashed potatoes, barely lukewarm, and without the sauce that was supposed to go with it. The dish was obviously sent back to the kitchen, and by the time it came back (hot), I had already finished my meal. So we didn't really have dinner together! A pity, because the meat was just as excellent as the skate wing. The restaurant was closing that evening for vacation, and it had a real pre-holiday atmosphere!

21/01/2026: The view is wonderful, the building exceptional 🤩. The food is delicious; I recommend the crab roll 😋 with homemade fries. A beautiful spot with a sea view that remains affordable.

11/01/2026: A little disappointed with our lunch... the service was very slow, my grilled sea bass was very good but the side dishes were unremarkable, my husband's John Dory arrived almost raw, which didn't surprise the waiter since it was cooked on one side only. Fortunately, it was remade, but sometimes good ingredients and a simpler dish are better... in short, I think the Auberge du Merou has declined in quality.

24/12/2025: We thoroughly enjoyed it; it was a simple and effective seafood platter, perfect, and a delicious crepe for dessert.
