21/08/2026: A superb place where we had a wonderful meal. Everything was delicious, and I especially loved the Mafoun couscous. Plus, the portions are generous. They offer dishes from different regions of Morocco, so there's something for everyone. The location is a bit hidden, as it's not on a shopping street but at the foot of a residential building. Don't hesitate to go!

03/07/2026: I hadn't been to this restaurant for over a year and had fond memories of its delicious food. Unfortunately, things have changed drastically. The couscous is incredibly bland, the semolina has lost its very light and subtle orange blossom aroma. Only the mint tea remains exquisite, but that wasn't the main reason for my visit. The service is impeccable; the waiter is attentive and courteous. It's the food that dismays me. And isn't that the most important aspect of a restaurant...?

25/08/2026: As a regular at this restaurant, I reserved a table for eight people, including three children. The two waitresses who served us were excellent, and the service was quick, but unfortunately, the food wasn't. I wasn't the only one at our table who complained; all eight of us, and even the people seated next to us, shared the same complaint. Frankly, it's not what it used to be. They need to rethink the kitchen, or the chef, or both. I mentioned it to the waitress, but still... Very disappointed!

24/08/2026: The location and the interior of the bar is beautiful, however is overshadowed by the rude, unprofessional and uncoordinated service and the overpriced drinks. No view is worth this service. Save your money and go somewhere else…

23/08/2026: I attended a €35 dinner at this restaurant, which included a starter, main course, and dessert. During the meal, I was asked to leave the table because their organization left much to be desired. In the end, I ordered the dish I had already paid for to take away. You can imagine my surprise when I opened the container—of course, it should have rice, but there wasn't any. I thought I'd be traveling through food, but I didn't get very far. I could have gone to the local snack bar and received better service.

21/08/2026: Delicious food, fast and friendly service, they even provided bottled water without any fuss. My husband had the fish, the local specialty, and was very happy with it. There's a QR code for the menu in several languages, including German.

03/09/2026: Huge disappointment, run for your lives!!! Bland sandwich 🤮 filled with salad and tasteless fries. Hot drinks. We just stuffed ourselves because we were hungry. Paying €51 for two sandwiches is truly outrageous...

19/08/2026: Location and flavor, nothing else matters. Update August 2026: After a year, we returned and it was a nasty surprise. The waiters were awful; it was like something out of a French comedy film. Three customers left without being served. A couple left without paying because they weren't served. I had to get up and pour my own water and cutlery. They kept sending duplicate orders, and desperate people kept saying, "It doesn't matter, it's fine by me." The food wasn't bad, but it was served completely cold due to the waiters' incompetence. It's a place with a hippie vibe, but that didn't matter last year because the waiters were on another level. I'm uploading photos. From 5 stars to 3.

31/07/2026: Honestly, I didn't find it good. I wanted to give this restaurant one last chance since I live right across the street. But in the end, nothing about this restaurant is right. The service is very slow. The food isn't good; I had a pre-packaged salad on my plate, the meat was frankly mediocre, and the seasonings were bland. So, I'll definitely never set foot in there again... I'm really very disappointed for a restaurant in a four-star hotel. Oh yes, and to top it all off, one of the waitresses had a stain on her pants, and it was very noticeable.

27/07/2026: The welcome and service are impeccable. The place is elegant, located within the Courtyard Marriott hotel, and very quiet, perfect for a relaxing time. The dishes are beautifully presented and delicious.

27/06/2026: The two stars are solely for the food. And even then, I could have given it four stars, but management wouldn't have taken that message seriously. The rating is so low because the staff's welcome is truly appalling (their condescension is appalling). A restaurant renowned for its food will be unfairly tarnished by its staff's poor reputation. Considering the prices charged, the customer experience needs a complete overhaul.

24/06/2026: Good food, but an unacceptable situation for customers and staff. I went for lunch today. The food was truly excellent, no complaints about the quality of the dishes. However, the experience was ruined by the complete lack of air conditioning during this heatwave, both in the restaurant and the shop areas. After asking the staff – who were, incidentally, very friendly and professional – I was kindly informed that the air conditioning was broken everywhere. For a chain of this size, it's hard to understand why such a problem isn't being addressed urgently. Beyond the comfort of the customers, I'm especially concerned about the employees: their working conditions in this stifling heat are truly unacceptable. My thoughts are with the team. I won't return until management has taken responsibility and fixed the system.

19/05/2026: December 2024 I still think about my experiences at this restaurant to this day, which is why I feel moved to write this review. During my very first visit to France, I had the pleasure of dining at Le Bersot de l’Orient. I was staying nearby, and it became my go-to place throughout my two-week stay. I visited frequently; for brunch, lunch, dinner, and even supper. I also dined both alone and with friends, and each visit was memorable. Across every visit, the food was consistently delicious and deeply satisfying. Hailing from Singapore, a tropical island where I am more familiar with Southeast Asian cuisine, dining de l’Orient was new and exciting. At the same time, the flavours were unexpectedly nostalgic. During the winter months, the meals felt especially warm and hearty. I looked forward to the food to restore me after a long day of walking through the city. It is simple in the best way: honest, filling, and full of comfort, making it an excellent option for both lunch and late dinner. On one occasion, I brought a group of around twelve people, and we shared platters together. The atmosphere was lively yet easygoing, and it became a natural gathering point before continuing our evening plans. Dining here worked just as well for quiet meals as it did for group outings. I also appreciated that the food served is halal, and that the establishment is Muslim-owned, which gave me comfort as a Muslim diner. The washroom is clean and spacious. There is a bar area separate from the kitchen, and while alcoholic beverages are served, it is clearly distinct from the dining space -- something I note for Muslim patrons who may prefer to know. The restaurant itself is not extravagant, but it is warm, cosy, and memorable. It is located in a very walkable and convenient area, making it easy to return to throughout a stay in the city. The surrounding streets add to the atmosphere, especially in the evening when everything feels softly alive. I am deeply thankful to the Le Bersot de l’Orient team for taking such good care of me and for feeding us so well during my stay. These meals brought both comfort and joy during my time in France. More than just food, they were quiet moments of grounding in a foreign place, and they remain with me still. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the area. I wish them continued success, and many more years of serving food that brings people the same quiet comfort it brought me. Merci beaucoup.

13/05/2026: We didn't go there, but the name is frankly awful.

26/08/2026: The staff and service were very disappointing. The servers were neither smiling nor welcoming, and clearly gave the impression of not wanting to be there. As for the "freshly squeezed" orange juice, it was obviously just very low-quality orange juice, which was quite disappointing. Another very surprising point: credit card payments are only accepted for purchases over €16! As a Parisian, I find this quite absurd, because even in Paris, this kind of minimum amount doesn't exist! In short, I strongly advise against this place. Unless you enjoy being poorly received and treated condescendingly :)

25/08/2026: You have to ask three times for a carafe of water. The waiter is unpleasant, and the service is slow. Minimum 16€ card payment. The toilets are dirty, and the men's toilets are out of order. In short, avoid it. 🍓
