02/09/2026: Preface: I also gave the service a 1, although the only "positive" note was that the girl who welcomed us was kind. Everything else was a disaster. We decided to spend a night at Peyrassol during a short vacation in Provence and the Var. We knew the estate from having been there about a dozen years ago and were in love with the place. At the time, we had been invited and hosted at a BMW event, and both my wife and I were enchanted by Peyrassol. Back then, we ate on the terrace or in a magnificent stone dining room. During our stay, they gave us a tour of the estate, the rooms where you could stay, etc. The food was excellent, the service was equally excellent, and the old commandery was a fairytale place. We booked a night and a dinner for two. When we arrived, we obviously followed the "Home" signs. Once we reached the parking lot, we entered the new area, the wrought-iron one, where we were immediately greeted by a rude, irritated girl who dismissed us in two seconds with the attitude: "If you want to buy wine, browse the shop; otherwise, go back and follow the xxx signs" (I don't remember the name of the farmhouse where they moved the rooms). Please note that a room alone costs almost €300 a night...not exactly a bargain. We retraced our steps and arrived, only to discover that unlike in the past, the commandery rooms have become "private" and now house guests in a classic, unremarkable country house—definitely an old Provençal country house, but certainly not what you'd expect. The rooms are simple, with nothing special, and a large cockroach at the foot of the bed. Everything is poor. Not even a caretaker, not even a cuddle, not even a service, not even a hair dryer. We then went to the pool, a 5x8 pool. After getting out of the pool, we took a shower (the pool shower, obviously with only cold water, is in the middle of the weeds). At this point, we went to get ready for dinner and headed to the Commanderie Centrale. We had to park at the boutique, but not close by (my wife, with her heels on the pavement, wasn't exactly happy). When we got there, we discovered that the restaurant was temporarily closed and only the bistro was open. For dinner at the bistro, the menu offered was a choice of two salads or grilled lamb ribs... a pittance. We left at 8:30 p.m., sad to have ruined a beautiful memory, a piece of our holiday, and an evening. Peyrassol, you want to make a museum? Make a museum. You want to make a wine cellar? Make a wine cellar, but forget about the hotel and the reception because they are a disaster. Plus, a place that is inconvenient for everything, expensive as it is, you have to offer a wow-effect service at that price. My only wow is... It was when I read the bistro menu and my wife and I decided to run away.

13/08/2026: What a wonderful discovery in the heart of Le Puy-en-Velay! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and we had a truly delightful time. The burgers are generous and served with a handy little wooden skewer. They were cooked to perfection, and the bun, sprinkled with seeds, adds a delicious texture. It's a place where you feel comfortable and enjoy your meal. We'll definitely be back.

17/09/2026: What a wonderful discovery this restaurant was, found "by chance"... Magnificent view and superb decor that irresistibly draw the eye... We walked in and immediately, even without a reservation, they found us a table with a smile... All the staff are efficient, kind, and even friendly, creating a relaxed yet chic atmosphere... smiles and kindness are the order of the day... you immediately feel very comfortable. We had oysters that were exquisite, the sea bream won over my husband, and I tried the hamburger and loved it!!! Two perfectly cooked steaks, delicious bread... we loved everything so much that we couldn't resist ordering dessert... The chocolate fondant was made to order, perfectly fresh and warm... A superb place to spread the word and make frequent trips if you're in the area... and that view... 🤩🤩 We'll definitely be back...

24/08/2026: I've been coming to Pierrot's for 17 years now and I've never been disappointed! Excellent wood-fired pizzas, it's become a real ritual! Thank you to Pierrot and his wife who are part of the heart and soul of the village.

16/05/2026: Every time I come to Plan de la Tour, I'm delighted to enjoy a delicious pizza from Pierrot's. They're made with quality ingredients, generously topped, and cooked in a wood-fired oven—magnificent! I highly recommend it, especially since the owners are super friendly. Sorry, no photo 📷.

22/05/2026: I ordered a pizza last night and I was very happy with it. It was cooked in a wood-fired oven, just like in the old days. The owner was very friendly, clearly loves his work, and does it with passion. The pizza was excellent. As a pizza lover in Toulon, I'll only order from him from now on. 😍

22/03/2026: Very good pizza, with a carefully prepared topping (herbs, garlic, onion), only downside, the olives are not very good.

26/08/2026: We had a wonderful time on the terrace of this simple yet incredibly pleasant restaurant. With a lovely view of the harbor and the Tamarisk mussel beds. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The Tamarisk mussels in garlic cream sauce and the grilled sea bream were delicious! In short, we highly recommend going if you're in the area!

18/08/2026: I like this place for a drink at the end of the day, near Villa Tamaris. The weather is lovely and the terrace is pleasant.

05/09/2026: The pizzas were burnt and rock hard. My cheese was completely dried out; I'm disgusted. Apart from that, the man was nice.

05/09/2026: We came this evening! Excellent restaurant! Warm welcome, fast service, and delicious food at a more than reasonable price for such quality!! Very pleasant setting. We had a wonderful time, I highly recommend it, and we will definitely be back!

09/09/2026: A wonderful time at this restaurant run by two professional brothers who respect their customers. Quality and quantity were both excellent, with a varied menu. And all-you-can-eat mussels marinière for €18.90 on the terrace overlooking the sea! A great find, highly recommended.

25/08/2026: From the moment we arrived until the bill, we thoroughly enjoyed our time at this restaurant. The service wasn't pushy, and the food was truly excellent. We had a wonderful meal. We highly recommend this place.

24/08/2026: Having dined in Michelin-starred and gourmet restaurants before, I feel I must be honest... It's a magnificent place, an extraordinary setting, the cocktails were good but nothing exceptional... We then went to eat and were quite disappointed. The dishes were either overcooked, the sauce too salty, the meat too large and undercooked, everything lacked flavor, and the dessert was bland and clearly not homemade... We felt like we were served by a team of apprentices who, despite their friendliness, weren't able to answer our questions properly. The head waitress wasn't very smiley and her expression was judgmental. In short, I found it lacked professionalism for such a prestigious establishment.

24/08/2026: The setting is lovely, with a sea view and a well-maintained garden. The furniture is dated but evokes a sense of elegance from 20 years ago. I enjoyed the cuisine overall, served by discreet and friendly staff, most of whom were in training.

24/07/2026: My favorite restaurant during my vacation. The food was excellent, my wife was surprised by her salad, and my fish was exquisite and reasonably priced. As I mentioned when paying, I just wish we had a charger, but my meal more than made up for it.

20/07/2026: Delicious!!!!! The food was flavorful, beautifully presented, and indulgent. The burrata salad was one of the best I've ever had, and the sea bass was perfectly cooked. A very pleasant surprise, plus it's well located with a lovely view of the harbor.

18/05/2026: An absolutely exceptional stay at Hôtel du Castellet! A true gem in the Var region: the place is magnificent, calm, refined, and incredibly pleasant. Everything was perfect from beginning to end. We had a wonderful time in a superb and relaxing setting. The food is simply incredible, a real treat from start to finish, with refined dishes and impeccable service. Every moment makes you want to return, and we will. From the warm welcome and the beauty of the place to the quality of the service and the overall atmosphere, everything was perfect. In short, nothing but positive things to say. I can confirm that we had a memorable experience that I wholeheartedly recommend!

16/05/2026: Thank you so much! A fantastic day. The setting was idyllic... The room was impeccably clean and the bed was superb... The spa was perfect and the staff were attentive to our needs... We ate at the restaurant in the evening and everything was perfect. Thank you again to the staff. And to the manager who created the establishment. We highly recommend it.
