18/09/2024: We chanced upon La Taverne Provençale when we decided, on the spur of the moment, to visit the hilltop village of Gourdon. The spacious terrace, with its stunning views down to the coast, was already fairly full but, despite our lack of reservation, we were warmly welcomed, a table swiftly found for us and two apéritifs arrived with the comprehensive menu, including daily specials. The food was simply excellent, particularly my own farandole of traditional stuffed vegetables. Our wonderful waiter, Grégoire, took great care of us and indulged me in my efforts to practice my rusty French. Desserts were also absolutely delicious. We feel extremely lucky to have bagged a lunch at this justly popular spot and will definitely return, this time with a reservation, the next time we are in this beautiful area. Very highly recommended!

09/05/2024: Overall acceptable but not worth all the prices charged! We had a Utah, a double cheese and two classics and a burrito. The minced steaks are good and juicy. The bread is very good. Well-balanced cheese and sauce. Pastrami is not tasty and hard to eat. BUT these are smash burgers and not real burgers :) So expect a minimalist portion. On the burrito the so-called marinated beef is almost non-existent...the avocado (guacamole) is industrial which was a bit shocking and very unfortunate...the wrap used is of borderline acceptable quality. Really meh fries.. The welcome is friendly, only one person behind to prepare it is not easy. Good luck

24/08/2024: Super little sanwich/salad bar with always fresh food and juices and a very friendly owner who doesn’t only serve you with a very friendly manner but also gives you the best tips for beach (plage des sports, merci!!) and also tells you a bit about the history of Cannes. 10/10

Perfect for a balanced break for lunch or for a little cappuccino accompanied by a sweet treat 😊. And the brunch...yum! The service is perfect! Thank you for your kindness and your smiles!

23/09/2024: The quality of the dishes is not consistent with the prices. Overcooked fish and one with lots of bones. We kindly noted that there were a lot of bones, it can happen that you miss them, but the waitress's response was really inappropriate: "it's fish, it goes with it." The young waiter, on the other hand, was very friendly, the real positive point. Response to your comment: A well-prepared fish in a good restaurant shouldn't have that much. As I said, sometimes things go wrong. On the other hand, the responses provided by the person, who may also be you yourself, were inappropriate. Especially when you say things kindly. A simple “sorry” would not have generated such dissatisfaction or any kind of our since your restaurant deserved neither positive nor negative points to be noted despite the quality of the dishes. It's a shame to waste fish by overcooking it, especially if it's fresh, because you can't tell the quality. So I keep the price too high for the quality. 25€ for an aioli, it should have been good. And the fish of the day should have been cooked better because it was not worth the price either given the quantity, the cooking and the preparation error with lots of bones. The worst part remains, of course, the dismissive response that was given.

17/09/2024: The service was a bit of a let down due to a large table being served before us despite arriving after us. This caused long delays for us before service. Otherwise the food was good. The servers were polite and helpful.

30/09/2024: Very nice place on the beach, even though we happened upon it on a very windy evening and had to dine inside. Interesting dishes, especially fish, excellent wines and friendly service. Special mention for the desserts

24/08/2024: We were able to have lunch several times there and even take away (pizza) and never disappointed!! Prices are more than reasonable, quality is there, we enjoy it every time! Staff attentive to the customer without overdoing it and very friendly with children!! Each time we visit Valberg we come without ever being disappointed!!

04/09/2024: On the whole it was brilliant - prices were very fair - portions were accordingly small, but ok. Unfortunately a bit poorly seasoned. The waiter always smiled, but hardly spoke a word. Ok for something quick to eat, but unfortunately not anymore

31/08/2024: It is a branch of the famous ice cream brand "Amorino". This branch is located on Rue Félix Faure, in the center of Cannes, where there are a total of 4 ice cream shops, next to or opposite each other. Our favorite flavor was the pistachio ice cream!

11/09/2024: I ordered a ham, cheese, and egg crepe. It tasted ok for sure, and was a good size portion, but didn't have the attractive look one expects. There should be a nice size opening with the yoke framed in the center. There was no opening. Also, I would expect a little crispiness and slightly darker color. But it was as soft as a pancake. The prices are quite low, but I wanted the full look and experience. The atmosphere is nothing special, but there's outdoor seating on a busy pedestrian area so good people watching. As some others have commented, not a very welcoming or friendly place.
