14/08/2026: It was nice eating in the coolness provided by the air conditioning. The entrecote was quite fatty, though, and the smoky flavor was sometimes a bit too much. But the price-quality ratio is okay. Service was always prompt and friendly. Don't expect haute cuisine, but the food was fine.

29/07/2026: A decent vegan dish, clearly marked as such; the crumble is also vegan (without the ice cream). Their burger recipe has changed; it no longer contains mushrooms, which is a shame. However, adding 5 euros for a "standard" burger if you want to replace the meat with a non-vegan patty is frankly outrageous. I'm not deducting a star, though, because if the restaurant didn't offer any vegan options, I wouldn't have gone, so I don't want to lower their rating when they deserve credit for this. Welcome to Chamonix, where, like everywhere in France, vegan options are unfortunately very limited. Other areas for improvement: the menu is initially in English, with the French translation in italics—well, we are in France, after all... The restaurant's presentation is also initially only in English (without translation). Furthermore, the website's constantly popping up reservation form is quite irritating when you just want to look at the menu. Thank you anyway for your vegan offer and best of luck!

29/07/2026: In my personal opinion, we ordered a beef burger. The taste was average, but the fries were nice and dry. Their service was very nice and friendly. 🌹

24/08/2026: We ordered two fried chicken meals thinking they would be burgers, since the menu clearly states that the fried chicken is a burger. However, the meal consists of just two breaded chicken pieces with a tiny bit of fries and coleslaw (which is very good, by the way). It was still disappointing because it's nowhere indicated that it's just two breaded chicken pieces. The honey sauce that came with the fried chicken wasn't to our liking at all. On the other hand, the desserts were, in our opinion, homemade and very good: brownie and red fruit panna cotta. The price of a meal is €14.50, which is quite reasonable.

22/08/2026: It used to be one of my favorite restaurants. One of the very first American establishments in Paris, a true institution! You'd often see businessmen there, seeking that New York vibe (back when simply ordering a hamburger in a restaurant was still a rarity, let alone pulled pork or caramelized chicken wings!). Alas... those were the days. Today, Joe Allen is just a shadow of his former self. The place seems to have been taken over by a chain, and nothing distinguishes it from the dozens of other soulless restaurants in the neighborhood.
