29/04/2026: While searching for food in Marseille, I was drawn to a restaurant called Kim Chi. Initially thinking it was Korean, I stepped inside and discovered it was an authentic Vietnamese restaurant! Although the restaurant wasn't large, the decor was rich in traditional Eastern style. Red lanterns with auspicious symbols of fortune, prosperity, and longevity hung from the ceiling and walls, and the table settings were exquisitely elegant. The owner, while not fluent in English, was incredibly patient and enthusiastically explained the menu, making us feel truly welcome. If it's your first time here, I highly recommend their Bo Bun (Vietnamese cold rice noodles) value set meal. For only €15, you get a main course, a drink, and dessert—a very affordable option for the area: Main Course: Bo Bun with options of beef, chicken, or vegetarian (very generous portions!). Drinks: A variety of choices, including tea, Heineken, Coke, tropical juices, and even a quarter bottle of wine. Desserts: Options include fruit salad, Vietnamese nougat, or two scoops of ice cream (vanilla/chocolate/coffee). We ordered the Bo Bun set meal, two different flavors of Vietnamese pho, and fresh spring rolls. The fresh spring rolls were filled with sweet and fresh shrimp, packed tightly, and served with a special peanut sauce that was very appetizing. They were even better with fish sauce. The Vietnamese pho had a delicious broth, the noodles were springy, and the amount of meat was decent. The Bo Bun was refreshing and light after being mixed with fish sauce, and the fried spring rolls were crispy and delicious. The restaurant also offered complimentary ice water. Overall, every dish was delicious, the portions were generous, and the prices were reasonable. If you happen to be in Marseille and are looking for a warm and affordable Asian meal, Kim Chi is definitely worth a try!

18/04/2026: ABSOLUTELY AVOID COCKTAILS. As you can see in the photo, the cocktail doesn't match the one served; you have to wonder what's in it, given the taste. The food is decent, but the origin of the ingredients is impossible to verify.

12/04/2026: A very bad experience at this restaurant: the service was unpleasant and unprofessional. Upon arrival, no one seated us, and the waiter was rude when my friend asked if he could wrap up the tempura she hadn't eaten. He was also disrespectful in responding to a simple request for sauce, even asking if I could read since it was written on the bottle. Finally, another waiter started cleaning the tables around us, even those that were already clean, which clearly made us feel like we were bothering them and being pressured to leave. A very disappointing evening.

23/04/2026: Appalling. Completely unprofessional. 1.5 hours between aperitif and meal. Fish-flavored cake. They cheated on the champagne. They call themselves a restaurant, but it's just a bistro.

The welcome is friendly and warm, perfect for enjoying a coffee or mint tea on the terrace while watching the neighborhood bustle. According to many visitors, the staff is lovely and the family atmosphere creates a real break in the day. I highly recommend this quintessential Marseilles stop 😊☕️🌞

06/01/2026: We came to this restaurant for our New Year's Eve meal on January 1st, 2026, for the first time, and we weren't disappointed. The meal was very good without being too heavy, which was a plus! The service was also good, with a pause between each course. We will definitely return on other occasions!

Our only complaint is that we were short on time (work) and would have loved to have had more time. We will definitely be back. Thank you for the warm welcome as well.
