17/03/2026: For the price, I think it's very good. My only complaint is the network: phone and TV are just average.
10/03/2026: The hotel is pet-friendly, which is why we chose it as our base, and it's not far from La Rochelle.
The staff is welcoming and helpful.
Their new "concept" is frankly a major drawback. No complimentary tray, no toilet brush in the restrooms 💩. Housekeeping is only available upon request.

15/04/2026: A restaurant I stumbled upon and a very pleasant surprise! The portions were just right—neither too much nor too little. The set menu was reasonably priced for a terrace overlooking the harbor. The service was impeccable, with a young waiter who had a perfect memory and was very friendly, taking no notes. The aioli was absolutely delicious... In short, I highly recommend it.
Thank you again to the restaurant for a wonderful experience.
11/04/2026: Very disappointed! Despite a quick and courteous welcome, we realized the service was going to be slow, very slow... Two set menus at €19.50 for a bland fish soup, mussels marinière with 50% empty shells, and an overcooked skate wing. In short, not great, so I skipped dessert given the previous courses. And what about the atmosphere at the bar while paying: it would scare customers away ;). Tourist trap!

11/02/2026: In July 2025, we met the new owners. The welcome was warm, and our dog was welcome too. The pizzas were delicious and generously topped, and the service was friendly. Another great change was the more varied menu. We enjoyed it so much that we went back the following week. We'll definitely eat there again on our next trip to Oléron.

28/03/2026: A wonderful discovery and a must-visit in this lovely little village. La Cambuse offers quality cuisine, beautifully presented in a charming setting furnished with vintage finds. (Even the restrooms are worth a look!). The welcome, friendliness, and friendly service, along with a charming Southwestern accent, made everything perfect!

01/11/2025: Disappointment. The flambéed prawns were undercooked, the peppers were raw, and the dish was bland. The "gourmet coffee" at €9.50 was really lacking in quality.
Frankly, it's a shame, you have the location to do great things. The service was adequate. The price is very high considering the quality.

I highly recommend this place. You feel right at home.

10/12/2025: I don't know why I like this bar, but that's just how it is! It has a slightly retro, unpretentious atmosphere, and you can tell there's a history there. The owner is calm, down-to-earth, and friendly.
