10/11/2024: A very nice address! Dauphinois, lover of good food, I ate three times in 10 days in this restaurant with its subtle flavors and cheerful atmosphere. Excellent value for money, tasty lunches. Fabrice offers us house specialties, of which starred restaurants would blush: mataflan available as you wish, Alsatian finger foods, fish duos...Emma serves us with good humor and her niece should try it, has -we heard :-)

10/01/2025: Family lunch (5 adults + 2 young children) Christmas week; very friendly welcome, excellent green sauerkraut and good desserts (glazed kouglof with marc), washed down with a good Riesling from a local producer 👍 (winemaker Engel who is worth a visit, tasting... and purchase 😉).
In short, a great address in Riquewihr that we recommend!

18/12/2024: We were greeted by the boss, who was simply odious. There were a lot of us and we didn't have reservations. He had room but told us loudly so they could hear that those behind us in line wouldn't be happy given the number of us. Honestly, it's anything but our problem ;) He didn't even say goodbye to us when we left, great! On the other hand, the server was adorable and patient.
The food was good, be careful they charge €7 extra if you only take one starter (it's indicated on the menu so no surprises) even though it is ridiculously small!

25/09/2024: It’s a shame to give this restaurant three stars because the cuisine and presentation were both solid. I had the foie gras as a starter and the beef tartare as a main. My wife got the salmon with a side salad, and it came with mashed potatoes. We ordered a grand cru Riesling which was excellent. While the menu is limited, the restaurant offers an extensive although pricey wine list. The problem came when we were finished with the meal we wanted desserts and champagne but we sat for over thirty minutes with completely empty glasses - no water or wine - while being intentionally ignored by our server. This wasn’t a case of picky Americans in a rush. We were happy to linger but it was overly obvious they were short staffed or didn’t care. It ruined what could have been a perfect evening. Now we know why this place gets 4 stars and not more.
25/09/2024: I deeply feel suspicious of how the Michelin judges rate this restaurant as Michelin Guide... Perhaps Michelin should re-select more professional judges to rate this restaurant! For anyone who wants to try this restaurant, I suggest that you should go to other restaurants nearby.
Croque Jeune Homme, the taste is pretty good, but one thing that bothers me was the bread was so burnt... I understand that you cooked this with butter; however, as a professional chef, you should know that high heat would burnt the bread, even though you wanna aim for the crunchiness.
Angus Beef Ribeye, the worst beef dish we've ever had, compare to any restaurants in France, Canada, US, & even Hong Kong! I have no idea who the hell rate this restaurant as one of the Michelin Guide restaurants?! This dish is 55€ per person. We left 1/3 of chewy tendon & overcooked beef on the brass plate & plates, which my mom & I couldn't able to eat. It's like chewing a rubber band. I can’t believe I’ve spent 110€ on this lousy dish!!!
Message for Chef Jean Kurtz, although I've learned French cooking in US & have tried many top decent French restaurants. Besides a long wait for the dishes, your dishes are far worse than what I was expected! We are NOT the only customers complained to your two servers, who were ONLY busy serving a big party downstairs & ignored the rest of the customers (upstairs) in your restaurant! Compare to other restaurants who were serving dinner on a Wednesday evening, your restaurant wasn't as packed or busy as other restaurants. It’s a shame that your culinary skills seemed going down the hill.

20/09/2024: This was actually a bit disappointing.
My lactose allergy was taken into consideration, but it was little for quite a decent price.
No small appetizer beforehand, as is often the custom. We got the feeling because we don't speak French that it was a shame that we were there.
Maybe this was just recording a moment, but for the price you expect a little more. I had the cod fillet and my friend had the mixed grill.

Premier expérience dans cette chaîne de restaurant et un compliment plus jamais

15/09/2024: Traditional Alsatian restaurant, home cooking. We booked late for 16 people. To facilitate organization, we placed our order in advance (the day before). Our entire order was taken care of and served on time. Children and starters at the same time. And the rest followed perfectly. Our waitress was very nice and attentive to our requests. She gave us good advice on the wine. We ate well and had a good time.
14/09/2024: Another one of these special discoveries in Alsace. Tugged away in the sleepy hidden village of Widensolen, about 45 minutes by car from Freiburg the “Auberge du Moulin” serves excellent alcasien home cooked food as well as specialties, which come close to One Star cooking. And this is no surprise! The former Head-Chef of the “Schwarzer Adler” in the Kaiserstuhl, Germany - Anibal Strubinger, who used to be awarded there with one Michelin Star for many, many years and this wife, Dominique Gutleben, a chef in her own right, now run the kitchen in this lovely and peaceful Gasthaus since 2022. And so their menu reads like a who-is-who of the Alsacien and French classics: Duck Foie Gras, Snails, Pate en Croute, Tarte Flambee with different toppings, Calf’s head, Veal Cordon Bleu, Veal Kidneys, Breaded Escalope, Vintage Beef steak, Ducks Breast to name a few. In addition, you may order in advance baeckaoffa, paella, Chicken in Salt with trouffles and Trouffles puff pastry and much more. The wine list is excellent, their two daughters run the superb service and above all, the prices are more than reasonable. Wow! Make sure you reserve your table!
