10/07/2025: I trusted the guide, but what a disappointment! We waited almost 40 minutes after our order, it turned out that it hadn't gone through, but no one cared. We ended up going to inquire: problem with the receipt, it happens. No apologies, and no action when it came to the bill, which turned out to be way too expensive for a kitchen that doesn't break bricks. In short, a completely rotten experience and 140 euros wasted.

17/05/2026: The place is friendly and charming, and the welcome is exceptionally warm. It's a typical, authentic house with a large dining room and antique decor, featuring stone floors typical of the region. The food is absolutely delicious, with wonderful culinary discoveries. The €47 set menu is particularly delightful. The à la carte menu also offers some excellent options. Remember to book ahead, and we'll definitely be back.

16/05/2026: What can I say about this restaurant in the setting of a traditional country inn, which I believe deserves to be better known and should not be missed under any circumstances if you are in the area? First, the welcome: reservation 15 minutes in advance. Then, the thoughtful touches: for the ladies, a handbag with a small step stool provided; coloring books for the little nieces; a waitress with a Spanish accent who transports you just by speaking to you; a waiter who is attentive to your requests; and an approachable chef who comes out of the kitchen to chat with the customers. And then, what can I say about the cuisine, which is highly refined and meticulously crafted from the amuse-bouche to the dessert? In short, a truly wonderful culinary experience. A thousand thanks! This restaurant, where the quality of the dishes—soup, chorizo ​​risotto, shrimp risotto, homemade Bounty ice cream—exceeded all my expectations and left me with a wonderful memory of my stay in Saint Jean. The welcome was exceptional, the value for money ideal. Bravo to the couple who run this restaurant; we will definitely be back!

21/05/2026: A long-established chocolate shop in Bayonne. I had hot chocolate at the café on the second floor. They poured the chocolate from a magnificent pot, and refills were available. The opulent interior, the music playing from what seemed like an antique radio—it was like stepping back in time.

We received a very warm welcome, the room was spotless, the breakfast was excellent (homemade pastries), in short, nothing to complain about, and the owner was super friendly, thank you! Our only regret was not eating at the hotel restaurant!
