19/10/2025: After a very decent first lunch in June 2025, we decided to return this Saturday, October 18th (12:45 p.m.) during a bike ride. Well, we won't be going back because after a 20-minute wait between ordering and the arrival of this revisited fish and chips with a meager portion of greasy fries, we decided to hit the road again. When it came time to settle the bill, we mentioned our concerns to the waitress, who explained that it was due to an upcoming closure, hence the mini portion of fries. It's a shame the price wasn't mini, because €17.50 for that doesn't make us want to go back. It should be noted that at the time of our visit, there were no more than a dozen customers seated!!! Spot the mistake!!!

28/02/2026: We received a very warm welcome and were lucky to have a great location during a period when parking was free everywhere. The evening meal was very good, and the breakfast was impeccable. However, regarding the room, I was given number 252 (double bed), but it was actually two single beds pushed together... ouch, my back!

30/03/2026: The establishment was closed even though online booking was possible. So we had to find a plan B.

28/03/2026: Too bad it's closed... despite a reservation made online and confirmed by email... we arrived... and it's closed on a Saturday night... and no specific information... even Google says it's open... impossible to contact them by phone...

08/04/2026: Very good, unlimited mussels and fries, very good and excellent sauces.

07/04/2026: The frozen fries were very average. The mussels were also average, with many broken shells, and the parsley sauce was too oily. In short, we were quite disappointed ☹️ despite a warm welcome and quick, pleasant service.

10/11/2025: Mixed experience: you have to order at the counter before sitting down. So you end up reading the menu standing up to make your choice... The galettes and crêpes were okay, nothing special. One was badly burnt on the bottom. Touristy prices. In short, not great value for money.

04/04/2026: Excellent welcome, as always. Very good bistro cuisine with fresh seafood. Our little dog was welcome. We love it. It's always a good time to stop at Le Poisson Rouge after the market in Palais.

05/05/2026: First day of vacation on the island. We arrived in the evening and couldn't do any shopping (everything was closed). We looked for a restaurant nearby (20 minutes away) for dinner and found Le Bistro de la Mer. It wasn't exactly close, but we figured it was one of the few places still open. We called... "Of course, we're still serving, dogs...with pleasure, how many people? Come on in, we'll be waiting for you!" So, what more can I say...? Oh yes, the people were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always smiling... The service was excellent, the presentation was lovely, and the food was delicious. It's worth it, if only for the staff. Thanks again.

01/05/2026: Very disappointing; the tablecloth was dirty. The grilled cod dish wasn't grilled at all; it had been boiled and quickly grilled. The onions that accompanied the dish were burnt. And to top it all off, my coffee spoon was completely bent. What a shame, having been a regular at Pedra Alta for years and never been so disappointed. There's a lot of neglect here.

23/03/2026: Disappointed. The owner of our gîte recommended this restaurant, and we were excited by the attractive menu. Alas, the entrecote was tough, undoubtedly a single thick piece cut in half, mine with unhealthy fat, and hard. Others ordered pan-seared scallops with chorizo ​​and a dry, not creamy, risotto with a few slices of chorizo—strange. We were saved by the dessert: very good, generous, and well-made crêpes. The service was excellent and very friendly. Let's just say it was a bad evening. We'll definitely be back.

28/01/2026: Arriving in January and not having heating in the rooms isn't very pleasant. The boiler supposedly takes a long time to start, according to the receptionist (I think it simply wasn't running).

13/01/2026: Upon arrival, the receptionist seemed frozen, which was a bad start… then the elevator broke down. When I got to the room, it must have been 15 degrees Celsius. I was hoping to work on my computer, but it was impossible. I had to take refuge in bed, adding extra blankets and cold, damp sheets. The bathroom fan heater ran for part of the night to try and raise the temperature, but it was noisy, so the night was short and bad. Clearly, the room hadn't been heated for some time, so it was a very bad experience for me. I can understand that there might be a heating problem or that the heating system is being used economically, but I would have liked to have been informed before paying so I could have chosen whether to stay or not. The hotel owner was perfectly aware of the heating problem, but no compensation or additional heating was offered. I do not recommend this hotel and will not return. It's a shame because the hotel is well located and quiet.
