Let's hope the chef stays at the end of the season!

We had booked for 8:30 p.m., after an hour of driving we arrived ready to spend a great evening... unfortunately what a disappointment: after 30 minutes of waiting we ended up asking for the menus and learning that there was only 1 dish left. available on the 4 offered…
On Saturday of the week of August 15 at 8:30 p.m., this seems incomprehensible. Especially since the waiter confirmed to us that all the tables had been reserved so you just have to learn to count your stocks!
The service is completely lousy too, no drinks and nothing to eat… we preferred to leave the restaurant!
No apology from the staff present, nothing!

22/10/2025: On Tuesday, October 21 at 9:30 p.m. I ate there and got sick during the night. I vomited everything. I got sick. I had food poisoning. Just avoid that. In case, I'm posting photos of everything I dropped in my bathtub!
25/09/2025: I would like to know if they had reopened. I went in August and it was closed, but I often go to this restaurant and it is really very good. There is a lot of choice and it is very good.

31/01/2026: Dinner on New Year's Eve. The mussels tasted like they'd been reheated several times and not made fresh. The mixed seafood fritters were good. The mixed seafood spaghetti with seafood was quite good but excessively greasy, and the pasta was sticking together. The two glasses of white wine weren't really two flutes, but rather small champagne glasses! Instead of the usual glass bottle of olive oil, we found a 1-liter can in the center of the table, which looked more like a mechanic's shop counter than a restaurant. Total spend: €105, way too much for what
we ate!

11/11/2025: A great meal with family and friends, but the service was incredibly slow, with very limited choices. Two seconds of enjoyment followed by a three-hour wait. The mashed potatoes and risotto were also very small portions. The staff were pleasant, it's true, but they didn't bother to have a drink or chat. One item they offered was out of stock, and there was mold in the grated cheese.
Otherwise, the beach is right next door.
11/11/2025: So, there's quite a bit to say about this restaurant. First of all, when we were served, the dishes had bits of mold on them. The waiter was very slow, and the two women serving us weren't welcoming at all; they were just chatting instead of doing their jobs. Otherwise, the owner was pleasant but smelled of alcohol.

05/12/2025: Wonderful we had a small lunch it was as much as we could eat 1 beer 2 glasses of wine definitely 4 star's from us, and all under 40 Euro's will be there again soon, we were back in June 2025 it has changed a lot you have an ice cream counter and the restaurant has lost space and seating not as enjoyable as our first visit
11/11/2025: Very disappointing review
A truly regrettable experience.
I ordered rare beef, but it arrived completely white—unacceptable for beef. I sent it back, and they brought me another, admittedly rare this time… but still frozen inside.
Some of the sauces on the table had expired in September—even though it's November! As for the service, the waitress who looked after us from beginning to end was impeccable: smiling, pleasant, and very professional. However, the waiter who came only to bring the drinks didn't even bother to say hello—a blatant lack of respect.
Frankly, it's absolutely not worth the price. Only the waitress's kindness slightly redeems an otherwise disastrous meal, both in terms of the food and the service.

09/10/2025: Exceptional setting a few meters from the port and the beach. It's the only acceptable restaurant in the area and we were very disappointed. No water or bread at the table. The dishes offered on the menu do not exist. I told you "no paella, prawns, monkfish, fish..." said the waiter. The ham croquettes are mostly potato croquettes. The mussels with chorizo are swimming in a pink creamy sauce and most are already detached from their shells. They do not contain chorizo. The waiters are tattooed thugs in shorts. We miss the service of yesteryear in restaurants and when will there be an acceptable restaurant in this corner of Hendaye?

26/08/2025: Rude food, odious kitchen staff who are loud in the dining room... we ordered galettes then crepes but we were refused to be served crepes because of the long wait!!! A creperie that doesn't serve crepes... a disgrace!!

21/01/2026: Avoid this place! The seafood bites and crepes were inedible, the sour cream and shellfish were rubbery. I used to go to this fish shop regularly, but it seems to have changed owners. Since then, it's been a disaster: the employees are unpleasant, the fish isn't very fresh, and it's overpriced. I won't be going back.
02/01/2026: I waited 5 minutes in front of the stall; nobody paid me any attention, even though I was the only customer. There were 5 or 6 vendors, but only one was busy. I had to make myself heard.
45 euros for 3 dozen oysters is expensive!
I'll update my review once I've eaten them today.

On vous amène 2 dorades grillées au barbecue.... qui sont froides, idem pour le riz. Des brochettes de crevettes tièdes avec des frites froides... et une entrecôte à la place d'une pizza. Finalement la pizza arrive 1 minute après et quand on signale que les 3 plats sont froids (on les a depuis 2 minutes seulement), la gérante nous balance avec son chewing-gum en bouche (très élégant...) " je vous préviens, ce sera réchauffé au micro ondes" , en même temps on n'a pas trop le choix du coup.
Au lieu de s'excuser pour ce souci, c'est nous qui devons accepter l'incompétence du service.
Pour continuer la série, en plein repas, un serveur ramasse les pots de sauces individuelles dans demander si on en veut...
merveilleux !
Compte tenu de ces mésaventures successives, nous nous sommes abstenus de prendre un dessert.
Aucune ristourne bien sûr.
Donc Fuyez ! Nous aurions dû lire les avis google et trip advisor avant.😏
Et ne pas nous fier aux premiers sourires pour attirer les clients car après on vous fait comprendre que vos demandes (légitimes) les agacent.
03/11/2024: Poisson correct, moules marinière sans goût, frites sûrement congelées pas assez cuites, vin accroche . service tellement long on a évité dessert et café. Impression d un self à table: peu de sourire et d attention envers la clientèle. L établissement bénéfice du cadre de la place principale et d une belle progression cependant notre essai ne sera pas transformé
