19/09/2026: I was very disappointed by this pizzeria. While the taste was certainly there, the portions were simply ridiculous: the crust was so thin it was practically nonexistent, resulting in tiny pizzas that wouldn't fill anyone up at all. To top it all off, the service was exasperatingly slow. And when the bill arrived, it was a shock: €16 for pizzas the size of a dessert plate, and €8 for the smallest dessert to finish... What a markup! They're clearly taking their customers for fools. I won't be going back.

02/09/2026: One of the few spots in Saint-Genis. English pub style, complete with a carpet that’s seen better days. You order at the counter, British-style. If luck is on your side, the bartender might actually look up and take your order. Otherwise, you'll be completely invisible while everyone around you gets served. In short: service needs a MASSIVE improvement, and the atmosphere isn't great either, tbh

30/08/2026: Discovered by chance one Saturday evening on our way home, we were immediately charmed by the friendliness and authenticity of the owner, who seemed to know half the town. He managed to whip up a gluten-free dish for me, even though he was only serving pizzas that night. The pizzas themselves were excellent, with a thin, crispy crust topped with very generous toppings. A real treat! There's a secret to the dough, by the way, but you'll have to ask to find out ;-) !

12/08/2026: Excellent service, even though it was a bit late. The thin-crust pizzas cooked in a wood-fired oven were delicious. The pulled beef, merguez-style, was a great find. The quality of the pizzas has remained consistent for years, using high-quality ingredients. I highly recommend it.

18/07/2026: Hello We came to get a raspberry tart, and it arrived broken. I find it unacceptable that we were charged full price when it was already broken before being served. I've attached a photo, of course. Marie Blachère is getting worse and worse. Bad welcome, mediocre service…etc. I won't be back.

22/08/2026: A very bad experience. The fries were so brownish that it was clear the oil hadn't been changed in ages. The water carafe was served in rosé wine bottles, with the labels still attached. Honestly, I felt like I was in a school cafeteria or at home, definitely not in a restaurant. The glass was completely cluttered with mustard and ketchup packets, as well as small hand sanitizer sachets. The salt and pepper shakers also gave an impression of dirt and neglect. The whole place was really lacking in care. And considering the price of the food, it's frankly not worth it. The only real advantage of this place is its location. People clearly go there, but they really deserve to eat something decent elsewhere!

20/08/2026: Lunch alone on August 20th, I chose the dish of the day, waited 35 minutes, and the waitress offered no apology for this unacceptable delay. Disappointed with this experience.

09/09/2026: I used to love Le Mahal, and my go-to dishes were palak paneer and chicken karahi. Sadly, as of late the quality has gone down, and most recently the palak paneer was extremely oily, even more so than usual. For the first time I couldn't finish my meal. Here's to hoping they make a comeback.

24/08/2026: Extremely delicious, and sometimes a victim of their own success, Papa's burgers are truly a must-try in Val Thoiry! A super friendly team is on hand to prepare your delicious meals!

22/08/2026: I picked up my order today, the fries were awful, I couldn't eat them. The veggie burger is delicious.

04/05/2026: We were passing through on our way to Spain and wanted to stay here for one night, but it was a disaster. The air conditioning was broken, the window wouldn't open, the refrigerator didn't work, and there was no hot water... plus there was a motorway right next to it. The whole place was a catastrophe; it should be torn down.

21/04/2026: The hotel is very old fashioned - you need to push the door really hard to open or close it. But the main issue is that we found stink bugs in the room when we checked in. We told the reception to fix it and they never do. Also, the director of the reception is very disrespectful. For example, he used “Les filles” to call us when me and my friend are clearly two 30+ ladies. Do not recommend even if the price might be attractive

18/08/2026: The service was appalling; no one spoke French, literally not a single word, so it wasn't practical to get advice on wine, for example 😂. The menus they gave us were dirty and covered in stains, and the water carafe had bits of food in it. We had a reservation for 9 pm, but there was no table available, so we had to wait 30 minutes. It's not worth the price, neither in terms of hygiene nor food quality. The dessert was good, and that's it. Everything else is honestly shameful.

30/06/2026: I’ve dined at Les Présidents several times and it has always been a very enjoyable experience, which is why last night’s visit was a bit disappointing. The starters were excellent, and my wife’s fish was perfectly cooked and delicious. Unfortunately, my beef tagliata was extremely poor—so tough and disappointing that it was simply inedible. I had to send it back and order the fish instead. What surprised me most was that the replacement dish was still charged on the bill. I had expected at least an apology or a gesture of goodwill, especially given that the original dish was not fit to eat. I hope this was just an isolated incident because the restaurant has always maintained a much higher standard. The quality of the service and the way this situation was handled did not match the excellent experiences I’ve had here in the past.

07/11/2025: It's been a long time since I last came, and it's so nice to find a family-run restaurant that's calm and has friendly staff who pay attention to their customers. I recommend the lasagna, which is rarely so well-prepared in a restaurant.

26/09/2026: A very unpleasant and, above all, deeply disappointing experience. My cousin and I arrived at Scarron simply intending to sit down for a coffee. Before we even had a chance to sit down, the man who greeted us informed us that they were already closing. What particularly struck us was the context: at that moment, several people were still in the establishment, and the staff were continuing to serve customers at their tables. Furthermore, we saw no sign indicating that the establishment would be closing earlier that day than the usual hours. We fully understand that an establishment may exceptionally have to close earlier. What we don't understand is the way this was communicated, and especially the fact that, while other customers continued to be served, two people who had just arrived were greeted in a way that clearly made them feel unwelcome. The situation was particularly awkward, as it occurred in front of other customers. The way we were treated made us feel very uncomfortable and left us feeling excluded and humiliated. We cannot say for sure what the reason was for this behavior, but we can describe how we felt: we clearly perceived a difference in treatment and left with a real sense of discrimination. We are not questioning an establishment's right to close when it deems it necessary. We are questioning the way this was communicated to us and, above all, the way we were treated. When someone enters an establishment, the minimum they have the right to expect is courtesy, respect, and a dignified welcome. In our case, we unfortunately experienced none of these. We left without even having the coffee we had come for. It's a real shame, because an experience like this should never be what a customer remembers about an establishment where they simply come to have a pleasant time.

26/09/2026: It's a bar with a nice location, but unfortunately, the person who works there isn't the right person. I went to the bar today, Saturday, to have a coffee and my companion a beer. It was 1:20 PM, and the waiter, a very rude man, told us without saying a word that he was about to close, even though there were still many people being served. He's an unpleasant and racist man; it's regrettable what an embarrassment he caused us.

02/10/2026: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Honestly, a fantastic discovery! 😍 I had a wonderful time at Karma in Ferney-Voltaire. The Indian food is delicious, full of flavor, and the dishes are truly delicious. The service is simply superb: the staff is very pleasant, smiling, and attentive. It's such a pleasure to be welcomed so warmly. And the vanilla ice cream... absolutely divine! 🍨😍 I can still taste it! A restaurant I wholeheartedly recommend. Kudos to the whole team and thank you for this wonderful experience! 🙏✨
