22/02/2026: A restaurant we frequent regularly, and for good reason! A varied menu that's a refreshing change from what you find in more mainstream restaurants, and very well executed to boot! We especially loved the Torikatsu Don, a simple, perfectly crispy chicken on a bowl of rice—it was absolutely delicious! The same goes for the hot appetizers, like the shrimp tempura and the eggplant tempura—definitely worth trying! One unique feature is that everything is served at once, which I personally love! Whether it's the hot dishes, sushi, or sashimi, it's always a crowd-pleaser, provided you enjoy Japanese food, of course! Although I've never met anyone who didn't like breaded chicken and rice, especially when it's so well prepared... Perhaps a minor drawback is the noise level, more so at lunchtime than in the evening. For example, Saturday and Friday evenings will be just as noisy, but personally, I think it's part of the atmosphere and won't stop you from having a conversation. If you'd like a quieter spot, ask for a table upstairs. Another bonus is the grocery section, and especially the beautiful tableware. It's a bit pricey, of course, but the products are all top-notch. We love it... I highly recommend it!

19/09/2025: A unique experience at L'Épuisette. Not being a fan of gourmet cuisine, I was a little apprehensive about leaving feeling unsatisfied when I saw the quantities. But that's not what you're looking for when you come here, and I was amazed by the flavors I discovered. The dishes are well-crafted and very refined, and with the successive courses, you end up leaving with a full stomach. I had requested a good table and my request was respected, which made the meal even more enjoyable. A wonderful memory.

15/02/2026: The welcome and staff were very friendly, and the dishes were beautifully presented. The Valentine's Day special menu: the starter and main course were very good, but we didn't like one of the desserts. A nice touch was the complimentary digestif and chocolate at the end of the meal. Thank you to the whole team for your kindness and professionalism. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. We will definitely return.

17/02/2026: While visiting Marseille, we stopped for lunch at Le Caribou and received a warm welcome from the staff. The dishes were very well prepared and delicious. The children's menu is great: drinks, a main course, and dessert for €10. Impeccable.

07/02/2026: Seeing the round Guinness sign while walking down a street is always a comfort, particularly north of the old port where I’ve only encountered two of them. I would expect the Guinness to be on tap, and lovingly poured into a proper Guinness pint glass. To my disappointment, the Guinness came from cans, the same ones (it seems) that you could buy at a supermarket with the nitro balls inside. The bartender / manager assured me that it was the same thing as Guinness on draft and he proceeded to use this machine that held the glass at an angle and slowly straightened itself. Like a hand-pour it waited a bit before topping off the glass. Unfortunately, the glass that the bar used was not a proper (Imperial) pint glass but a French 50 cL glass. So, oddly, the bartender had to pull the glass out of the machine and put in another glass for the remaining 6.8 cL “excess.” It was the strangest thing. I thought why not just use pint glasses, particularly in an establishment that has the round “Guinness” sign hung prominently outside the bar? And the machine itself looked like it was meant to hold a classic Guinness glass (with the top half tapering out into an almost goblet-like form). Beyond this strange encounter with the pouring of my favorite beer, I felt that the price was a bit steep for “Happy Hour” at 9 EUR (with the excess thrown out, no less). The bar itself was nice. It was a proper bar with hooks underneath for bags, and had a nice vibe. Other “bars” that I’ve seen in Marseille are a bit “fake-ish” and are meant to serve from rather than a place to sit properly next to. It had a bit of that corporate look that the other bars and restaurants along this stretch of the port has and feels like it caters more to tourists and workers in the area vs. a “local” with a bit more personality (for this you would have to go to Cours Ju). The manager and staff were friendly and attentive to everyone that came in. Although I think they probably thought I was odd because I was questioning their little Guinness machine. Music was good (from rock to rockabilly and blues) but veered a bit at one point to country, which the manager, wisely, pulled back from. It was okay and I will come again. It may never happen in La Joliette but I’m still hoping for a perfect pour this side of the port.

14/02/2026: This small restaurant may not look like much from the outside, but I guarantee you everything changes inside. A warm welcome awaits you, along with a varied menu. And all at truly reasonable prices. Once you leave, you'll only have one desire: to return.

18/01/2026: A pleasant place with attentive staff. The dishes were elaborate and very tasty. I was just a little disappointed by the price of the Camargue oysters, which were €15 for six pieces—a bit pricey—and two sea urchins at €8. Otherwise, overall very good.

21/02/2026: It's certainly a very good wine shop, but I didn't enjoy their tasting evenings... For me, that's not what a wine tasting is at all! And friendlier staff wouldn't go amiss...

19/02/2026: This is one of those establishments that represents the casual quality so exceptionally well done by the French. Here you find a simple and well created restaurant embedded in the middle of a wine shop. We arrived basically to look for a special bottle to bring to a friend’s home for dinner and noticed that nearly every seat was filled so decided to eat there as well. The owner came over to take our order and we explained our broader mission. He was extremely attentive and asked clarifying questions in order to assist us well. Our wine and meals arrived and while we enjoyed the flavors and atmosphere we could observe him examining the racks to find just the right bottle for us. While enjoying the meal and imagining just what his selections would be we were also sitting next to two casually well dressed young men that were quietly chatting away and enjoying lunch. As I looked around at the other bottles lining the walls surrounding us, my eyes must have briefly lingered a moment too long on the bottle of white on their table. One of them picked the bottle up, smiled and looked our way. “Would you like to try a glass with us?” The question took me by surprise but as a person that likes to say ‘yes’ I of course did so. He poured a glass and watched while we tasted it. ‘Wonderful, smooth and clean. Beautiful mineral quality with fresh finish. Very easy to drink.” I said as he awaited the response. “Exactly!!” He said as he excitedly smiled. I looked back again and said, “Your kindness really took me by surprise”. He responded simply, “Not at all. Good wine is for sharing.” We smiled at each other again. What a beautiful moment. Our positive experience here continued as the owner then explained the options selected for us in excellent and excited detail. Each sounded wonderful and we made our selection. As you may imagine..it was perfect!!This is a spot that we will definitely return to many more times!

28/02/2026: I can't rate the food as I only came for a drink, but the setting is very pleasant and the price is reasonable! It's a bar service, so I can't rate the service either.

23/02/2026: Very nice place, good restaurant and welcoming staff, we really liked it. Just be careful of the mosquitoes if you are sensitive to them.
