08/12/2025: The L’Alliance restaurant in Amboise, slightly out of the way, offers truly excellent, flavorful, and well-prepared cuisine that is definitely worth the detour. The service is adequate, if not exceptional, and the somewhat underwhelming setting doesn't quite do justice to the quality of the food. A great place to eat well, despite an atmosphere that could be improved.

22/11/2025: Excellent cuisine, with real attention paid to allergens. Quick and friendly service. The restaurant is unfortunately not very busy, but we had a very pleasant evening and our taste buds were delighted.

28/02/2026: A French gentleman recommended this place to us after seeing us on the street looking for somewhere to eat. When we went and tried the entrecote, the onion soup, and the salmon of the day, we understood why he had recommended it. Everything was incredibly good and the service was excellent. A 100% success!

02/03/2026: I love discovering new places, those spots where you can have a great time. The Caveau Saint Pierre is a perfect example. Located on the riverbank, in a traditional Alsatian setting, you're greeted politely and kindly. The cuisine is Alsatian, and we ate a typical local dish that our mothers used to make for us—though not nearly as good—40 years ago (I'll let you do the math on that): vol-au-vent with Alsatian pasta. It was delicious, a rare and precious trip down memory lane. Frankly, while there's an explosion of those cheap, impersonal restaurants trying to convince you that you're going to eat the food of our childhood, come to Alsace and you'll see how refined and flavorful it is. With that, I opted for the amazing Grinch cocktail! And what a surprise the crème brûlée was, made right before your eyes. In short, my sweetheart, with her lovely green eyes, and I adored our meal in this tavern so much that I'm keeping my review serious. It's good, it's effective, everything we love!

05/03/2026: All the staff is incredible. Sorry for not mentioning names. Thanks to young Bellboys/Doormen, Front Office staff(especially morning shift staff), Breakfast staff, housekeeping were amazing. I give 9/10. Thanks to leadership for such a great team that is helpful, kind, and easy to communicate. breakfast is good enough. halal meat variety could be added to the menu. 8/10 cleanliness is 8/10. Room 202 is a street facing room with generous space except the toilette. toilette and shower/bathtub are in seperate rooms. toilette room(wardrobe) was between 1-1,5 square meters. very very narrow for such spacious room. Drapes do not black out the light enough for a person who can only sleep in pitch dark. thank you so much, I'd stay there again.

26/02/2026: I stayed 6 nights in this hotel. Rooms are fine. The room I got was spacious and had very small windows because it was the last floor. Great views to the Opera. Breakfast was excellent and staff in the breakfast area was awesome too. The building is old, elevator is small and corridors are very narrow. Helene at the reception forced us to upgrade to a bigger room because we traveled with a 1-year-old baby, even though their conditions clearly say children under 2 years old stay for free. They said I booked a 2-person room and we were three people, but this is contradictory: how can a baby stay for free if they occupy one spot? This is the first time I see this. The room we upgraded to did not have anything special for babies, not even a bed for him. So we had a single bed for two in what they call a 3-person room. We stayed 6 nights and they made us pay 350 euro extra (6 nights for 50/night). The reception staff even tried to blame my travel agency for something that is clearly stated in their website. If you travel with babies confirm this beforehand with them, otherwise you'll get an ugly surprise like I did.

25/01/2026: We stumbled upon a little corner of culinary paradise, where the warm and friendly welcome perfectly complements their delicious dishes. Fellow food lovers, we highly recommend this place. P.S. Fleury Abbey is worth a visit nearby, as are the banks of the Loire River.

04/02/2026: The dishes are very good 👌, well-presented and flavorful. You can tell the ingredients are high-quality and the cooking is meticulous. However, the portions are far too small for the price; you're left wanting more. It's a shame, because with more generous portions, the experience would be perfect!

18/12/2025: While the quality was there, the quantity was catastrophic: filet mignon = 3 microscopic pieces of meat and a ridiculous portion of carrot purée! A 45-minute wait for that! And judging by the other dishes that were served, it wasn't any better. Not to mention, a waiter with a lame sense of humor when we pointed out the portion size. Value for money = 00 First and last time!

25/02/2026: We discovered a fantastic restaurant last night. The service was attentive and friendly. Plus, the portions were incredibly generous.

24/02/2026: The waitress was extremely pushy; we'd barely sat down before we were expected to order. She came back several times and was really unpleasant. The food was okay. The food was alright.

24/02/2026: We had dinner there one evening and I must say it was absolutely worth it. Every element of the meal was exquisitely presented, and the cuisine was truly exceptional. The incredibly cozy and comforting atmosphere definitely adds to the experience. The grounds are absolutely stunning. If you're looking to spend a wonderful evening with your partner, whether for dinner or even lunch, I highly recommend this place!

17/02/2026: Unjustifiable value for money: the Bistro disgraces the Gastronomic experience As regulars at the Michelin-starred Colombier*, we wanted to try their Bistro for a meal with friends. It was a bitter mistake. Uninspired cuisine and outrageous prices: Truffle Menu at €85: A disappointment. The flavor is barely perceptible; three truffle "chips" as decoration do not make a flavorful dish. Foie Gras at €28: For two lonely mini medallions, the price is outrageously high. The rest: A duck breast with no particular preparation and overcooked, served on barely lukewarm plates. Unprofessional service: The welcome is casual. Dishes are placed on the table without a word (what are we eating again?), bread and water (€2 per person) must be requested. The worst part? A "child's" portion of truffled Saint-Nectaire cheese to share between two people!!! When we expressed our surprise, the waitress offered an extra portion before changing her mind: "The chef said it's normal." A blatant lack of generosity. While the dessert was good, it didn't redeem an overall mediocre experience. This unpleasant feeling of being ripped off permanently damages the group's image: it makes us absolutely unwilling to spend any more money, either at the Bistro or at the associated Michelin-starred restaurant. 21/02/2026: Aside from the decor... it's completely uninteresting. We ate extremely mediocre food, especially the dessert which was awful (some kind of warmed-up Danette custard and a burnt tarte tatin), all served by a dreadful waiter. I had eaten there a few years ago; I hoped things had improved!

04/03/2026: All the food was delicious and we had a wonderful time. The staff were all very kind and the service was attentive. The lemon, ginger and cinnamon shot served after the meal was also very impressive. It left my mouth feeling refreshed and was the perfect way to end the meal. I would definitely like to visit again when I visit Paris. Thank you.

24/02/2026: We've been meeting at this café for four years now, and having tried several in Paris, this one ticks all the boxes for a great time. The service is always excellent value for money. The owner and staff are very friendly. The service is quick and cheerful. I highly recommend them.

13/01/2026: The atmosphere is cool; there are lots of older people chatting about their lives or local gossip. However, the food wasn't great. The fries were frozen and barely cooked, and there wasn't enough sauce with the main course. A shame. On the other hand, they do accept restaurant vouchers.
