31/01/2026: January 2026 The restaurant is somewhat hidden away in a quiet alley. The welcome and service are impeccable. We opted for the tasting menu at €135... A true success! An amuse-bouche followed by seven courses offered genuine surprises and culinary delights. The chef manages to combine flavors and presentation, always giving pride of place to plants and flowers. We discovered, along the way, the brède mafane and its unique flavor profile. The menu offers a balance between land and sea, always original and distinctive. Bravo to the chef for the delicious flavors. The aperitifs and wine, however, are (too) expensive. I highly recommend this restaurant: a wonderful discovery.

22/01/2026: As frequent patrons of Michelin-starred restaurants, we were disappointed by the overall atmosphere of this establishment. It lacks a true soul, something that could bring warmth and conviviality to the experience. While the meal was certainly of very high quality, the absence of a sommelier is regrettable and, in our opinion, a shortcoming for a Michelin-starred restaurant. Furthermore, the chef doesn't come out at the end of service to greet the guests, which is surprising given the high standards and strict adherence to schedules that are usually displayed.

21/11/2025: A restaurant very close to the port...but in a quiet location. As its name suggests, you can enjoy a delicious meal at a very reasonable price in a simple and welcoming atmosphere. Everyone at our table loved the tagines...and I loved the French toast, though it wasn't for everyone! The chocolate mousse was excellent, according to others! The wine was very good and reasonably priced. Go without hesitation!

23/12/2025: The three of us came for lunch during Christmas week, and it was excellent! The fish was cooked perfectly, the vegetables were delicious, and the rice pudding was also excellent—we thoroughly enjoyed it. The young lady who served us was also very pleasant. :) Highly recommended!

I regret not being able to finish my plate, it was so generous and hearty; it captured all the flavors of India. It's an incredible experience! The restaurant is well-maintained and clean, and the setting is very pleasant. I can't give it six stars, but frankly, the five I gave are more than deserved. Well done and thank you.

24/11/2025: This restaurant is definitely worth a visit! The decor is stylish, the food is delicious and very generous, the atmosphere is pleasant, and the service is attentive. All this at a very reasonable price. Places like this are rare; it's a shame we don't live in the area because we would have gone back regularly.

30/11/2025: A real gem! We're from Oléron and were looking for a good restaurant for a gourmet getaway in the Brouage Citadel this Sunday at lunchtime, and we found it! Open year-round, with great reviews and eels on the menu, that was all it took to convince us to book. Thank you, Google Maps! 🙃 In the end, everything exceeded our expectations. First, the wide selection on the menu, the excellent value for money, the quality of the wine we chose, the creative and delicious homemade cuisine, the generous portions, the warm decor, the small seating capacity, and what a welcome! We'll definitely be back! 🍷😋

30/11/2025: A wonderful discovery in Brouage, L'ESCALE DU ROY is an intimate restaurant with a soothing atmosphere and great music. The menu is original and very varied, making it hard to choose. Everything is homemade, the portions are generous, and the dishes are delicious. The restaurant offers a set menu at very affordable prices. The owner is welcoming and warm, having recently arrived from Marie-Galante with her husband, the chef. Welcome to them, and see you very soon!

13/01/2026: Fantastic experience. Impeccable service, and the music was really great. I had the DIY steak tartare. Simple and delicious. Special mention to the waiter who was incredibly attentive. I highly recommend it for a family evening out while enjoying La Palmyre.

04/12/2025: Everything is indeed homemade. One drawback: it's impossible to go on a whim, to share a meal with friends... We love the place and the chef's refined cuisine, however, we regret losing the spontaneity, being tied to the reservation schedule. There's a real lack of flexibility, in communication as well. It's a shame, and in the end... well, we gave up!

18/01/2026: We had a very good family meal; the food was excellent and the presentation was lovely. It's a shame the toilet hygiene was so poor... The sink and toilet were filthy; had they ever even been cleaned?
