26/07/2026: A great restaurant and definitely worth trying. I liked these dishes, but I suggest asking for the chicken to be cooked more thoroughly. However, the cheese fondue is alcohol-free, so try it! 👍 The service was excellent and fast, contrary to what I read in some reviews.

26/07/2026: The veal escalope was disappointing: a huge (really huge) escalope with no sauce on the plate, and a few vegetables... For 32 euros, we expected a bit more flavor and side dishes... A little disappointed. The other dishes were perhaps better.

23/07/2026: Kindly asked to use the toilet, quickly and urgently. I also mentioned that I’m a pregnant woman. They refused to let me use it unless I would have buy something. I’ll let you judge that.

16/07/2026: The owner is incredibly stingy. I came for lunch last week (the Caesar salad was okay, nothing special for the price), but today I have to catch a bus to Bellegarde and I'm running late. I decided to take a chance and asked to use the fast-food restaurant's restroom. The owner practically pounced on me and demanded I buy something—anything, really—so he could recoup the cost of the water and toilet paper. He just lost a customer (at least), but he probably doesn't care, because all that matters to him is money; customer satisfaction is secondary.

30/03/2026: Where to start? Is a great location the reason why everything else has to be so horrible? Reception has a hard time speaking English so they just hang up on you when you are trying to get information. Twice. Once when we were trying to get a code for the parking. You book an extra bed for your child and when you arrive it isn't ready. Then when it comes, it is broken and it takes hours to replace. Breakfast is simply sad, really. The room is old not in a good way. Carpeted with ancient smells.. THe flip flops for the sauna are reusable. Seems like hotel management is trying to save money on the smallest things. The shower on the bathroom is awful. A small amount of water comes out of it. For the price we paid, this is most likely the worst place we have ever stayed at.

30/03/2026: The hotel is perfectly located at the foot of the slopes, with a friendly and very welcoming staff. The view of Mont Blanc from the breakfast room is magnificent. We had an excellent stay thanks to the team and the thoughtful touches in our room (pastries, water, toiletries, etc.). We will gladly return!

12/07/2026: A warm welcome, a quiet, shaded terrace, delicious and beautifully presented crepes and galettes (I've never seen such lovely presentations!): in short, a very pleasant stop in this charming village! Thank you to the whole team!

06/07/2026: The welcome was perfect! With a smile and great attention to detail. My dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor 😋 The shaded terrace was much appreciated. All this for a very reasonable price. I highly recommend it.

22/06/2026: Pros - Friendly, efficient English-speaking staff - Views from the rooms and spa were incredible - Excellent range of options at the breakfast buffet and opened at 06.30 so eat then get out for the day early - Able to use facilities of hotel on day of checkout. We were kindly allowed to use the spa and hotel showers on the afternoon after we had checked out at no additional cost. This meant we were able to run all day and freshen up before heading to the airport. A really nice touch as meant you could maximise time in Chamonix rather than wait for flight home. - Toiletries in the room were good quality (not overstocked so environmental friendly) and able to ask for items free if charge from reception - Great location close to town centre and short walk to bus stops/train station Cons - Mattress was very firm so found it quite uncomfortable (personal preference though) - No aircon: stayed in June and the room was uncomfortably hot to sleep and the road outside was a bit too noisy to leave the windows open overnight to cool things down. It was exceptionally hot weather however so likely a very occasional issue. - Limited hooks in the bedroom for coats etc - Drinks in the hotel bar were expensive - EUR12 for a 1664 Krongenbourg beer. Despite a few small cons, this hotel was absolutely fantastic and I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

31/07/2026: Living in the Chablais region, I had often heard about Chez Mathilde, always with glowing reviews. It's actually quite rare for an establishment to be so universally acclaimed, which made my partner and me want to come and see for ourselves. We were won over. The quality of the (local) products is remarkable, but it's especially the way Mathilde selects, prepares, and showcases them that makes all the difference. It quickly becomes clear why this place enjoys such a great reputation in the Chablais. We'll be back! (In fact, we've already been back a few times since May ;-) )

06/08/2026: A very pleasant and refreshing experience. The children were able to fish for trout, and afterwards we enjoyed a light snack there. The staff were very friendly and the setting was relaxing. A great family outing.

24/03/2026: We had the pleasure of settling onto this small, elevated terrace in the middle of winter, with the sun shining brightly, which made the moment even more enjoyable. The terrace isn't very large, which gives the place an intimate, friendly, and particularly welcoming atmosphere; you immediately feel at ease. The service is truly top-notch. Special mention goes to Perrine: if you're lucky enough to be served by this charming young woman, your visit to Les Ancelles will be all the more enjoyable. Smiling, attentive, and professional, she clearly contributes to the quality of the experience. As for the food, we tried a salad, pasta, and a tart, and everything was delicious. The dishes are well-executed, flavorful, and generous, with simple yet expertly prepared cuisine, just the way we like it in the mountains. The cocktails are also excellent, so much so that we returned a second time at the end of the week to enjoy them again. And to end on a perfect note, we were offered a small pear before leaving, ideal for warming up before heading back out to ski. A truly wonderful place that we wholeheartedly recommend, both for its atmosphere and for the quality of the service and the food!

08/07/2026: Nice place to eat. But the service leaves much to be desired; they don't ask if everything is alright, and the frozen potatoes are tasteless. The plate is a bit pricey for the quality; you're paying for the view.

07/07/2026: Lovely mountain hut on the ski slope with great views over the Mont Blanc Massif. After many a mountain climbed in summer and skied in winter, this one has to be one of if not my favourite. Open all year round with a great selection of products. Seemingly family run with people who really care about their customers. Sitting area surrounded by beautiful alpine wildflowers. Access by walking down the gravel service track for a 100m or so from the top of the Bettex. We were offered cheese from a local farm free of charge. The views are incredible - you can ask for binoculars and will be able to see all the way from Mont Blanc to Aiguille du Tour, Aiguille de Chardonnet and Aiguille Verte. If you are passing anywhere in the vicinity I would recommend a trip to Sous les Freddy.

19/02/2026: We arrived with complete independence. The housekeeping in the rooms needs improvement as they are starting to show their age. The food was well-equipped, the pool was clean and well-heated, and the rooms were also well-prepared. The bed was made up before our arrival and even included an extra pillow. There were no bathrobes for the pool. We only stayed one night, but I could easily see myself staying a week.

15/02/2026: A very nice residence, well located near Annecy with a lovely view, and several swimming pools, including one open even in winter. Self check-in is available from 2 pm onwards, which we really appreciated.
