24/12/2025: Mixed experience. We came on a Sunday as a family for lunch while visiting the Christmas market. We ordered the daily special, which was croziflette. Unfortunately, the portions were too small. The adults received the same amount as the children. We left hungry. The children, however, thoroughly enjoyed their meal.

15/02/2026: Initially, we booked a one-night stay without expecting much. In the end, we were very pleasantly surprised by the place in several ways. The decor is tasteful and welcoming; we felt right at home. The spa and hammam area is ideally laid out and perfectly romantic for couples. The room we had was clean, spacious, and functional. A truly relaxing getaway—we highly recommend it!

26/02/2026: A very good place. The food was just like home cooking, it was delicious. The staff is lovely. The prices are reasonable. And by the way, the restrooms were clean (it might sound strange, but it's important to me).

15/02/2026: We ate at this restaurant during our vacation. The restaurant's setting is very pleasant. The food was good, but one dish was slightly lukewarm and the meat was undercooked. The ham ravioli were supposed to be curry, but unfortunately, this wasn't indicated on the menu. The burger and fries, however, were quite good. The website stated that the dishes were homemade (it's a shame they didn't take the time to make proper whipped cream for the desserts). The manager was attentive to the customers' well-being; it's a pity the rest of the staff weren't wearing appropriate professional attire (for service).

16/02/2026: First time at this restaurant, which my boyfriend knew well, for Valentine's Day! It should have been a pleasant experience. The food was good, some nice discoveries, but the dishes were served lukewarm, even cold. We ordered several, but everything arrived at once! We arrived at 7 pm. It was already busy, but there were still tables available. Since you can't make a reservation (the website says "doesn't take reservations, but you can arrange it on the spot"), we arrived early to be sure of getting a table! We were asked if we wanted a table, and we said, "Yes!" We said it was for drinks and food... We sat at the bar facing the servers, waiting for a table. A couple arrived after us, sat at the bar next to us, and the server served them drinks before us. We felt invisible. Around 8 pm, the waitress finally looked at us and asked, "Would you like something to drink?" Well, yes! The waitress asked us if we wanted a table, took our order, and we waited, thinking, "She'll seat us later." All the other couples, who arrived much later, were seated, while we were left at the bar. They put down our napkins and cutlery, and we realized we wouldn't be getting a table. We told the waitress, and her response was, "Oh, we didn't understand." Next to the till, facing the dishwasher and the noise from the bar, it was far from romantic! The atmosphere was nice, they offered a digestif, the coffee was very good with the dessert, and the servers were still friendly, thankfully. But for a first visit, we were a little disappointed considering the bill we left for two people; we would have liked to be properly seated at a table.

08/03/2026: A lovely family run hotel in a perfect location right at the bottom of the Prodains Express lift. We have stayed here 4 times now, and it’s always a lovely stay. The whole family work really hard to ensure that their guests have a great stay. The restaurant is excellent with lots of choice for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The heated outdoor pool was opened this year too, which is a fantastic addition to an already great hotel. See you next year ⛷️

03/02/2026: Excellent stay, highly recommended! We stayed at Hotel Castellan in Châtel for a weekend with my company colleagues (around 10 of us), and the experience was fantastic from start to finish. The rooms were clean, cosy, and very comfortable, and the location is perfect, beautiful views, easy access to the village, and great connections to the ski pistes. Everything was very convenient after long days on the slopes. Our stay included breakfast and dinner, and both were really good: delicious, generous, and exactly what you need after a full ski day. What really made the difference was the staff, always friendly, helpful, and easy to deal with. They made us feel very welcome throughout the whole stay. I would highly recommend Hotel Castellan, and we’re already looking forward to coming back, either with my family or with friends. We truly fell in love with Châtel and this hotel. Thank you, Hotel Castellan, and see you again very soon!

27/01/2026: It's such a shame your room rates have skyrocketed! Today, a standard room with half-board at your Castellan is more expensive than at Les Cornettes, a grand luxury hotel (with Michelin-starred cuisine), and even at the Hotel Macchi, the only 4-star hotel in the valley! You used to offer good value for money; it seems that's no longer the case.

19/01/2026: They do not respond to booking SMS messages and when we arrive, we are greeted with a “we are full”. The least they could have done was say so at the time of booking so as not to go up for nothing.

07/12/2025: The perfect place to relax and enjoy delicious food. We'll definitely be back to try everything! We booked a table in the morning and received a very warm welcome. The meat was cooked to perfection, the dressing was exquisite, everything was delicious, thank you!
