Les meilleurs restaurants en Haut-Rhin

26/08/2026: Disappointment! The location is excellent, and the decor is warm. The food is mediocre. However, regarding the atmosphere and the service, I agree with the previous review: it was like prison. No smiles, no greetings, slow service at the register, and the cook was in a bad mood.

24/08/2026: We were at Le Markstein on August 23, 2026, for the "Les Crêtes Vosgiennes" races. Before leaving Le Markstein, we decided to grab a quick snack there. The waiter was friendly and welcoming. The bread was good, but the white sausage was €7 and, unfortunately, it wasn't cooked enough for the three of us. The pair of merguez sausages, also €7, were well-cooked. It's still quite expensive (€7, a first for us), especially considering the 3,200 race participants, mainly from Alsace or Lorraine. It's a bar-restaurant that you might find in a ski resort. It's well-located, which probably explains the prices in part. If you have a little more time, I recommend visiting the nearby farm inns. They offer a much more authentic setting and produce their own meat and/or cheese. They offer the traditional marcaire menu (homemade pie and crudités, sautéed potatoes and smoked pork, Munster cheese and homemade tart) all for around €24 to €30 depending on the farm-inn.

09/08/2026: So, despite the "30 minutes max" being announced... we ended up waiting 1 hour 30 minutes... If I had been warned about the delay, I could have understood, especially since I had left my number... But after waiting 1 hour 30 minutes, I sent the delivery man back with his order.

08/08/2026: It's become very expensive compared to the competition. A salad supplement of €2.60 is ridiculous, it's outrageous!

01/08/2026: What a disgrace! You order Too Good To Go on the app and 4 hours later it says they couldn't fulfill your order, even though there were still 5 available when you placed it... Luckily I was notified in time. Don't even bother ordering from there, you'll just be ordering for nothing and missing the chance to get one somewhere else 😑

16/06/2026: The products were from the day before and inedible. The saleswoman was also very unpleasant. I strongly advise against going there.

26/04/2026: The pastries were rather mass-produced and lacked freshness. The cappuccino was disappointing, with little flavor and mediocre foam.

15/05/2026: The bedding was very average and the room could use a refresh. That said, it was clean. We were on half-board. The soup was delicious and very filling. But even after a long hike, the meal was far too heavy: a starter after the soup, then a large sauerkraut, then a tart. The sauerkraut was frankly a disaster, with undercooked potatoes in particular. A shame. They should have made less, but better.

11/05/2026: Regarding the restaurant only: very disappointing compared to a few years ago in terms of the quality of the food offered...is it because it wasn't peak winter or summer season? We had lunch on a Saturday in May (the weekend of May 8th) with beautiful weather, but the dining room was completely empty between 12:00 and 1:30 pm. The dish (onion tart) was clearly not fresh, poorly reheated in the microwave, with industrial tomato sauce covering the fleischnakas, and the blueberry tart was also not fresh...with high prices, and to top it all off! Upon checking, the bill showed three errors in the prices, all in their favor. The explanation given: "I haven't had time to change the prices on the menu"...yeah, right...! We demanded a refund. We certainly won't be going back, even though we had fond memories of it and were happy to return...but that was before...

13/08/2026: Luckily, we didn't let the reviews deter us; it would have been a shame to miss out on a delicious mixed salad (a welcome change from Caesars and the like!) and a wonderful plum tart. The staff gave us a very warm welcome; they didn't have a children's menu but offered us a perfectly reasonable alternative.

18/08/2026: Honestly, it's very good; even back then, when I was 7 years old, they were very nice.

10/08/2026: The blueberry tart, a generous slice and a must in Alsace, failed to live up to expectations. The blueberries were outdone by the mirabelle plums in terms of flavor. Good blueberry jam remains a fantasy that will haunt us all day, even if the pastry cream tried to salvage the situation. Our teeth, already biting into the perfectly baked shortcrust pastry, went to rest. A sugar tart disguised as blueberries, or plums.

25/04/2026: Poor experience. The waitress taking orders was awful, speaking to customers as if we were cattle. The other servers were friendly and helpful. Orders arrived, but three-quarters were wrong and the remaining quarter were missing. Tested/Not approved.

18/04/2026: I'm giving one star for the setting; the rest is mediocre 😱 The welcome was unpleasant, not a smile at all. When you order a cordon bleu, they don't even ask what you want on the side, and it's rushed. As for the food, there's no word for it. "Homemade cordon bleu," my foot! Vegetables with an aftertaste of laundry detergent. All in all, considering the price, I would have been better off eating at McDonald's.

13/08/2026: I want to congratulate the establishment on this absolutely unforgettable gastronomic experience. The dish was so original that it took me several minutes to understand what I was supposed to be eating. A true sensory experience: surprising texture, unusual temperature, and seasoning so subtle it probably decided not to come. I particularly appreciated the value for money: paying for a dish you immediately regret is quite rare. Special mention to the chef, who managed to make me see my plate in a new way: with suspicion. In short, if you're looking for a restaurant where your meal will leave a lasting impression, go for it. Personally, I'll remember it for a long time. 🥰 I highly recommend it… to my worst enemy.

13/08/2026: I'm not usually one to leave reviews, but I have to this time. I ordered a burger that was burnt to a crisp and inedible. They replaced it with another burger that was also burnt to a crisp and inedible. Next time, I'll get a McDonald's takeaway. At least I won't be disappointed by the price. It's just a tourist trap. I paid €25 for a burger that's worth €5. This is the last time I'll see you.

16/04/2026: Review of the restaurant only, following an evening meal with friends on Wednesday, April 15, 2026. The welcome was warm, the staff efficient and friendly. The value for money was excellent. We have absolutely no complaints. We will gladly return as soon as possible!

01/08/2026: The sauerkraut with three meats was bland and the portion was small! The atmosphere was monotonous, with no music! Very disappointed 😩

31/07/2026: Everything was perfect. Very fast service, delicious tarte flambée and dessert

23/07/2026: Welcoming staff, pleasant atmosphere, varied and tasty dishes, but the waiter was practically absent, ordering was difficult, and the dishes weren't always very well presented. The price/quality ratio was acceptable but inferior to some other Chinese restaurants in the area. The quality/price ratio was decent but lower than some other Chinese restaurants in the area.

06/07/2026: Arrived at 7:30 PM, buffet already empty. There was a group of about twenty tourists, too noisy. Very limited selection and the buffet wasn't replenished. Food was bland and lukewarm. The only decent thing was the bottle of sparkling water and some fruit. The welcome and service were friendly, and the waiters were smiling despite everything.

30/08/2026: A fantastic place, the food was excellent, and the atmosphere was great. I must highlight that the two guys who served us were very friendly and both spoke English and Spanish—wonderful service. I highly recommend it.
