07/12/2025: Passing through, we were looking for an open restaurant. While unassuming, this restaurant is actually a culinary gem. The welcome was relaxed, the atmosphere and decor were old-fashioned, and the food and wine were all top-notch. If we lived in the area, it would have become our go-to spot.

20/02/2026: This historic establishment is a haven of pleasure. Ample parking. A most welcoming atmosphere. An excellent menu that reveals the chef's delight in creating it, punctuated by numerous, flavorful, and original touches. Unique tableware. A well-balanced wine list. Everything is locally sourced, including the decorative elements. How lucky the residents of Amboise are to have such an establishment! But we, the locals from Fondettes, had a truly delightful time. Don't change a thing...

02/02/2026: I had the opportunity to discover Le Clapotis today. The restaurant is located on the shores of Lake Cher, which provides a very pleasant setting. This is further enhanced by the tasteful interior decor. The food was excellent, and the service was friendly and professional. Finally, the value for money is very good. I therefore wholeheartedly recommend this lovely restaurant. Cédric A.

06/12/2025: I'll just say one thing: "itadakimazu" (it's delicious). The meal is simple and authentic. The tonkatzu was tasty and the dishes were well-prepared. What more can I say? Go try it and, like me, come back!

05/11/2025: I was disappointed by this restaurant. The sushi was poorly made, not very well presented, and for the price, it was far too expensive. The quality doesn't justify the cost. It's a shame, because the place seemed promising at first.

05/02/2026: Disappointed with my visit today. I had been before and had a good time. But today was a completely different story. The head waiter was condescending and unpleasant. I came with my baby in a stroller, and he seemed bothered by the presence of a stroller. Perhaps? The service was a disaster. We waited two hours on a Thursday at lunchtime for a pizza and lasagna...?? Sure, it was good, but it wasn't worth a two-hour wait for so little. Furthermore, the restaurant is very noisy due to many office workers having quite loud conversations. Avoid it at lunchtime on weekdays; maybe at other times, but I won't be back. Thank you.

26/11/2025: A place like this is the kind of place you wish you could find in every town and city in France when you're a truck driver... The parking lot is huge and paved, the welcome is friendly, the service is quick, the showers are spotless, and the food is good with a wide selection... Paradise, basically...!! Just one small drawback: the small tables against the wall are a bit cramped... P.S.: (I'm not from the area and I have no relation to the owners... But when something's good, you have to say so, and this is definitely the case here.)

24/02/2026: Good atmosphere. A bit of a long wait and the food was cold on arrival, but in their defense, it was packed. The food (once reheated) was very good and very generous.

The welcome and service are always efficient and pleasant. The team remains the same and consistently delivers delicious dishes year after year. In short, a sure bet in Tours. 04/12/2025: I'd heard great things about it, and I was quite disappointed. The food wasn't very original, and the presentation was unremarkable. It was so crowded, it was difficult to have a conversation without your neighbor overhearing.

15/02/2026: I was very pleasantly surprised by this "chain" restaurant! The welcome was particularly warm, even though the place was full. The waitress took the time to find us the last available table, in a quiet spot. The service was quick and efficient. I had a slight issue with my starter being overcooked, but it was replaced immediately and without hesitation, which was very professional. The meat was flavorful, good quality, and generously portioned. Despite the crowds, the atmosphere remained friendly and pleasant, which is quite rare and worth mentioning. The restrooms were clean despite the number of people, which is also worth noting. Finally, the bill was quite reasonable. I will definitely be back! A big thank you to the whole team: your passion for your work is evident from the moment you walk into the restaurant. 👏

04/01/2026: We went on the Friday after New Year and I was a little worried it would be quiet but that was unfounded as it was almost full. I chose the menu Saison and had a poached egg with comte sauce and truffle served with a delightful mini Croque Monsieur laced with truffle. Perfectly done and superb taste. I followed this with Saint Jacques in a chorizo emulsion -absolutley delicious . For dessert a vanilla mouse with chocolate seated a fine biscuit. We had a bottle of Pouilly-Fumé and no coffee. Before and after the meal there were delicate amuse-bouche. We all felt that whilst the dishes were excellent they were a little small - the risotto with my Saint Jacques could have been a little more generous. That said we had an excellent meal , with friendly service in comfortable surroundings. 223€ for 3 was reasonable. I would eat here again.
