07/07/2026: "Run, you fools!" (as Gandalf would say.) The owner's welcome leaves much to be desired. You quickly get the impression you're bothering him; he's unfriendly and almost seems to ignore you. The food is okay, but nothing special. I ordered an Auvergne salad that was literally swimming in vinaigrette: a veritable pool. The ingredients were also very roughly chopped, which wasn't very appetizing. The only real positive is the service: the staff is kind, smiling, and does their best despite everything else. A disappointing experience that doesn't make me want to return.

01/07/2026: This is my second spa treatment season in Royat. We are two couples. We know the CINTRA spa. The welcome is always very friendly. Humor and smiles are always present. The food is good and meets our expectations. I highly recommend this place.

28/06/2026: The service was average and not very pleasant (Sunday at 7:30 am, I can understand). I came to try the flan and pastries. The pain au chocolat and croissant were excellent. The flan was far below my expectations, but the mille-feuille was a real revelation—absolutely delicious. The chocolate éclair was made with very good dark chocolate. I recommend this bakery without hesitation.

27/06/2026: It's hard to deny the quality of this bakery, but the owners' pricing policy is outrageous. Riding the wave of their commercial success, they charge unjustified prices on certain indulgent items like cakes and tarts. As for the pastries, they're flawless: the croissants, pain au chocolat, and Viennese baguettes are excellent. Special mention goes to the chocolate Viennese baguette, a true marvel: I can devour a whole one for breakfast without the slightest guilt. It's undoubtedly one of the best I've ever tasted. Regarding the bread, don't be fooled by the "Label Rouge" flour baguette: it's nothing special. It's just marketing. Opt without hesitation for the traditional baguette, which is a sure thing.

09/05/2026: The waiter didn't smile; you'd almost think he didn't work there. The steak was cooked to a medium-rare, even the kids' steak was rarer. The glass had fingerprints, and the cutlery also had marks that I removed myself with my napkin. The drinks were pre-opened and didn't seem very cold. The ice cubes were dirty. It was a pleasure to eat half-thawed fried food. The dish was expensive for a mediocre burger with no toppings to speak of.

A grenadine with water cost €2.80 at the beginning of November and €3.90 at the beginning of December. I won't be going back to this bar; that's it.

01/06/2026: The hotel is ideally located: close to the historic center, next to the leisure park and the tourist train station. It has private parking, and a large parking lot is also located just a few meters away. The hotel staff is very friendly and attentive to their guests. The rooms are clean and well-equipped. We had a very good dinner, and the breakfast buffet was plentiful.

The manager told us that if there were no seats available, we couldn't order, even though we were already seated. We then waited almost an hour for just two drinks. Fortunately, the curly-haired waiter came to apologize for the wait, which we appreciated. However, the manager's remarks and the lack of organization completely ruined our evening. It's a real shame, because a warmer welcome and a little more consideration for the customers would have made all the difference. I do not recommend this establishment.

23/05/2026: Absolutely wonderful!!! We arrived for coffee at 11:00 AM. There were six of us, including one child. Several tables were empty and unset. We were unpleasantly surprised when the waitress told us that no tables were available. Two or three minutes later, a family of five arrived for drinks, and the waitress seated them at a table for six. We politely asked the waitress why we had been refused service, and this unpleasant woman must have mistaken us for tourists, even though we are residents of La Bourboule, because she berated us, telling us we were disrespectful, unfriendly, and bad people. This is definitely the last time she will ever see us, our friends, or our neighbors.

21/05/2026: I arrived at 8:30 pm. The kitchen was almost closing, and the waiters at the reception desk found me a table. The lady who recommended the menu was very kind; she advised me not to order an appetizer because it would be too much, which I really appreciated. I recommend arriving before 8:30 pm because almost all restaurants close at that time. Of course, we're not in Paris, we're in Nice.

01/07/2026: Terrible service, absolutely no manners! The person who appears to be the owner is yelling at his employees throughout the restaurant. Furthermore, the customers seem to be bothering him, even while remaining polite. I absolutely do not recommend this restaurant.

30/06/2026: We received a very poor welcome upon arrival. I find it unacceptable to stack two chairs to make a child's seat. For someone with 22 years of service, they should reconsider their language and behavior, which are inappropriate. This is my first and last time at this establishment.

04/07/2026: Super friendly staff. Brilliant concept. My husband and I are meat lovers and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The rum steaks were perfectly cooked, the knife practically glided through them. My husband had the homemade chocolate mousse, apparently delicious, and I had the cheese plate, a wonderful introduction to local cheeses. I highly recommend it!

27/12/2025: 12:25 PM: no more second choices on the daily menu. No suggestions for an aperitif, let alone wines. The truffade was more like a cheese omelet. Only one dessert option.

19/12/2025: Change of ownership At 12:15 PM, there were no more menu options except salmon and spinach. The restaurant was full, and there was a very long wait. It's nothing like it was under the previous owners. Plus, the €18.50 set menu (main course and dessert) didn't include all the desserts. We ended up getting a kebab.

29/01/2026: We've been having lunch at The Spot since the restaurant was taken over by its new owners. The dishes and desserts are delicious, and the tasteful decor is very pleasant. We'll definitely be back.

03/11/2025: Run away... the restaurant was empty when we went, that should have been a warning sign, but oh well... the outdoor terrace was disgusting, the toilets were disgusting, the owner was calmly drinking with his colleagues... the guy even took out his penis (disgusting), frozen fries, meat not cooked as requested... in short, I thought I was on a gag video or a horror film like "Hostel", don't go there, it's a nightmare in and around the kitchen.
