06/04/2026: I don't comment very often during my trips (I think this is actually the first time). However, I think the owners and Staff from Hotel-Restaurant La Bonne Franquette absolutely deserved it. I spent my 2026 Easter Weekend there. My room was clean and the bed very comfy, the food at the restaurant was excellent. But most importantly, the Staff was simply incredible. I hope that my trips will bring me back to the Alsace, if this happen, I will book there again on a heartbeat.

17/05/2026: Great bar with a great atmosphere. The servers do their best to serve us. It was very crowded inside. No DJ, but a pre-made playlist, but the atmosphere was fantastic. A great night out.

12/05/2026: We were spending a weekend with our family in Niederbronn and decided to eat at La Romaine on a whim, as we didn't know the town at all. We had a wonderful time with our children: the portions were generous and delicious, the prices quite reasonable, and above all, the welcome was warm. We were immediately made to feel at ease and served with good cheer all evening. If we ever come back for another holiday, we'll definitely eat there again.

19/04/2026: A truly wonderful culinary experience. I was personally surprised by the dishes on offer; the portions were perfect, just enough to leave us satisfied. We had a table outside, and despite the noise from the cars, we were able to hear each other. The service was a little slow, but we're not complaining. The waitresses were very kind, smiling, and attentive. We'll definitely be back!

Another very welcome feature: the restaurant is halal-friendly, allowing you to enjoy this refined cuisine with complete peace of mind. The welcome is warm, the atmosphere pleasant, and everything makes you want to come back again and again… and more often this time! A top-notch restaurant that I recommend without hesitation.

14/04/2026: We stopped by chance and honestly, we have no regrets. The owner is exceptional; he gives great advice on everything, presents the menu with care, and recommends drinks to accompany the dishes. The portions are generous and very reasonably priced considering the size of the servings. We ordered the homemade desserts to take away, and just like the meal, they were absolutely delicious. If you're ever in the area, don't hesitate to stop by. You won't regret it.

16/06/2026: The onglet de boeuf, which was translated as beef fillet on the menu, was definitely not a fillet and tougher than my sneaker. A real shame. The fish with sauerkraut was good, and the salmon was equally good. The service, from the highly competent waiter to the forgetful temporary server, was very friendly, and the outdoor seating area was lovely. I wouldn't recommend it solely for the food. Otherwise, though, a visit is okay.

15/06/2026: I came to eat at this charming restaurant and ordered a sirloin steak, which was clearly faulty as it had a strong taste of dish soap/sour. After offering me something else to eat (which I refused because I was disgusted), the owner didn't even have the decency to offer us drinks or make any kind of gesture of goodwill, barely even a "sorry," implying that the problem was me because they had tasted the meat and hadn't noticed anything wrong... either they have a problem with their palate or their bad faith got the better of them... what a shame, we won't be back

12/07/2026: Well, this was the last straw. The Coucou des Bois restaurant, which used to be very popular, was a disaster. We ate there, and the meal was awful. The bartender served us ice cubes without gloves or tongs, and the lemon was the same. He brought us burnt tarte flambée because he forgot to take it out of the oven. Great! We left with an exorbitant bill for the meager meal. It's shameful. They should just close the restaurant. Seeing the people making a fuss, a waitress running around everywhere (poor thing), and the cook with his cap on backwards... What is the world coming to? This is supposed to be a typical Alsatian restaurant, right? I don't think so. 😡😡

09/07/2026: First visit in January 2024 * Restaurant reopened after a year of renovations. It is now part of a large group that owns around twenty restaurants in Strasbourg. The exterior and interior renovations have given the restaurant a fresh new look. Open since January 2nd, we went on the 3rd. Reservation made online. The exterior is well-lit, the interior even more so. You'll be dazzled. Everything has been renovated, from floor to ceiling. There are three rooms: the main restaurant, the first floor, and the veranda. The welcome is warm, and we were able to choose our table. The servers are all friendly, professional, responsive, and impeccably dressed. The menu is typically Alsatian. It's extensive, with something for everyone. There are many choices of tarte flambée. The prices are on the higher end for Strasbourg. For our first visit, we opted for tarte flambée, a starter, and dessert. The tart (€10.90) is excellent, with high-quality pastry and filling. The bacon is homemade. The Strasbourg salad (€6.50) is fresh and generously topped. The foie gras (€15.90) ​​is high quality, and you can tell it's also homemade. The desserts are equally impressive. For our first visit, we had a wonderful meal, a real treat. No complaints whatsoever; it's a welcome change from the previous owner. We'll be back to try the different dishes on offer and see if the quality has declined over time. The only downside was the lack of waitresses, only waiters. This is unusual and worth noting. * Returning in March and May 2024 for lunch. The Express menu is good, and there's finally a very friendly and smiling waitress. * Returning in January 2025 for Le Coucou's first anniversary. This time it was a disappointment (so I'm downgrading from 5 to 4 stars). The waiter we had was completely out of it. Maybe it was his first night, but clearly he's not cut out for this job. Too distant and obviously not very motivated. The tarte flambée wasn't the best. The cream was tasteless, the bacon was sparse, only the crust was good and crispy. The Fleichkiechle were lukewarm. The Spätzle were good, the fries undercooked. The two desserts were excellent. There's been a lapse in quality; they need to get back on track. * Return in August 2025. This time the disappointment was even greater. The tarte flambée was better than last time. Bibelaskäs was served, but the potatoes arrived 10 minutes later. The Strasbourgeoise salad wasn't good, too much lettuce, and the grated Gruyère was too fine. We wanted to order dessert, but 30 minutes after we finished eating, the plates were still in front of us. The decline continues * Return in July 2026 Service provided by two waitresses; they are efficient and complement each other. The tart is still bland and lacks flavor. The dessert (Dame Blanche) was not great, very runny. There is still room for improvement.
