12/05/2026: We were spending a weekend with our family in Niederbronn and decided to eat at La Romaine on a whim, as we didn't know the town at all. We had a wonderful time with our children: the portions were generous and delicious, the prices quite reasonable, and above all, the welcome was warm. We were immediately made to feel at ease and served with good cheer all evening. If we ever come back for another holiday, we'll definitely eat there again.

30/04/2026: A lovely, cozy family restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere. It felt like a living room. The owner was super friendly and hospitable. Our dog was also very welcome and even got water and biscuits. The food tasted good. The fries were amazing. It wasn't expensive either. We had a lovely evening. Definitely recommended. Do check the opening hours carefully, though!

05/04/2026: Pleasant even first thing in the morning, super helpful and respectful, with no waiting. A very well-located shop in the center of the small village. I highly recommend it.

28/04/2026: This is an amazing Chinese and Japanese buffet. They even have Szechuan soup and salmon sashimi (plain fish, no rice). I've been to many restaurants like this, but this is the only one that offers it.

11/04/2026: Very disappointed with our meal, which is a real shame because the staff were lovely. The food was really disappointing, with processed ingredients and a wok dish that was poorly cooked. The value for money was terrible, far too expensive considering we were still hungry after our meal and felt unwell a few hours later. Some of the food wasn't even real. For two people with drinks, it was €62. Drinks were €15 for two people. The meal was €47.

23/04/2026: I ate with a friend one evening, a very good discovery of this fabulous restaurant, hearty dish but satiating at the end, perfectly well presented with a price more affordable in everyone's eyes. I highly recommend this restaurant.

13/03/2026: Sorry, I had justified my rating, but the text didn't appear. Here it is: we chose your restaurant for its ambiance. However, the baeckeoffe served was very dry. The potatoes were mushy (except for the one on top, which was burnt) and dry, as was the meat; there wasn't a single drop of juice.

07/03/2026: Excellent food, a menu featuring typical Alsatian cuisine. It was truly delicious. The location is also worth the trip: it probably hasn't changed much in 130 years. Warm welcome. A very pleasant evening.

08/04/2026: We went there before and after the renovation, and both times we were disappointed. It's not good value for money. For me, a fish casserole is something you expect a lot from, especially when they list all the allergens and everything else you should find on the first page. I'm really sorry, but I was hungry, and my husband didn't eat the fish; it was so bland. €24 per plate, even the bread was bland. I make better at home. Nothing made us want to come back, sorry. Not even your new decor. Best of luck.

29/11/2025: If you want a lunch special that's been reheated or simply kept warm for ages (today's chicken cordon bleu), go for it! Otherwise, steer clear! And to top it off, the wine we ordered never arrived... And the hanger steak was definitely half a hanger steak! And the lady at the counter, she needs to know when to stop!

03/05/2026: Very disappointing, a very cold welcome. We were on the terrace with no parasol. I really don't recommend this bar in Ivronne; only unclean people.

12/04/2026: Danny's hot dogs are to die for! A friendly, rock 'n' roll bar, no pretension, and the staff is fantastic. Special mention for the beers. Go without hesitation if you're visiting Sélestat!

24/05/2026: A stop at this charming restaurant during a road trip was such a pleasant surprise! The welcome was very warm. We absolutely loved it; the food was delicious and expertly prepared. The portions were generous but not excessive. The prices are more than reasonable considering the quality. The phone-free concept contributes to the warm atmosphere, which is fantastic. Don't worry, they don't accept credit cards; there's an ATM right next door.

24/05/2026: Hello, first of all, I rarely give such high ratings, but when you enter Mamama's, you step back in time, to a time before cell phones, and that makes all the difference. You enter a beautiful place and are greeted by Sandra, who kindly explains the restaurant and its rules. Like many, I'm often on my phone, hence this review, which I hope will be constructive. But I tried it. You truly step into another era. The entire decor is based on antique objects like kettles, cast-iron pots, and other vintage items that you no longer find in everyday stores. It's a bit like a flea market, but most of these items are new or have been restored. They are mostly made by local or regional artisans in small quantities, and it serves as a kind of showcase. You can buy them at the end of your meal, and the restaurant doesn't take a commission. For those who are wary of the word "flea market," everything is very clean and tastefully presented. You can see that it has been carefully considered and designed to be both pleasant and unobtrusive. This has nothing to do with the typical image of a flea market. As for the food, it's small, slow-cooked dishes. Well, when I say small, you still need to have a good appetite because the portions are generous. They arrive in earthenware dishes, which is very practical because it keeps everything warm, just like our grandmothers used to do. So you can chat with friends or people at the next table without worrying about it getting cold. This restaurant encourages direct communication between people. The calm atmosphere, the decor, the friendliness—everything contributes to helping you disconnect from technology. I not only enjoyed delicious, comforting, slow-cooked dishes prepared by Olivier, but I also found myself chatting with people at the next table whom I didn't know.
