26/11/2025: Not easy to find if you're not from the area, but once you do, it's a fantastic discovery. A well-balanced menu, excellent value for money. Top-quality ingredients, everything is superb. And great cocktails! In short, we'll gladly return as soon as we're back in the area!

16/09/2024: We choose this restaurant for two reasons: it was reasonably close to our hotel and got good on-line reviews. The meal we had was possibly the best of our two-week holiday travelling around north-west France. Service was friendly and attentive. The food was excellent and not unduly expensive for the standard. We really enjoyed the experience and would happily recommend Le Mail.

08/09/2024: We had dinner there. Cold atmosphere and room. Menu at 39 euros. Good overall. The main course would have deserved more research in the accompaniment in relation to the price.

28/09/2024: We really love this little campsite behind the dunes. Quiet and peaceful pre and late saison. Exceptional friendly team. Unfortunately some of the dog owners are not respecting the rules on site. But this is not the fault of the site team. So, please(!) keep your dogs on a leash and clean after them.

27/09/2024: Anyone who loves the sea will feel very comfortable at this campsite. It is located directly on the Atlantic, even if there is no direct beach access, walking a few meters shouldn't be a problem for anyone. The pitches are suitable for mobile homes up to 7m and there is enough space. You will be welcomed by a young, very relaxed and friendly team. This relaxed style fits the island perfectly. In the evening you can order baguettes, croissants etc. for the next morning. The sanitary facilities are cleaned regularly..keeping it clean is more up to the campers themselves..time and again you see people on all campsites who simply behave badly..I will never understand this behavior. I can only recommend the campsite, this is the second time we have been here for a few days and we would love to come back!

11/12/2024: Not at all commercial...request for a birthday cake for 8 people for 12/24. Answer not possible, no lack of space, we only take orders for logs. An 8-person log probably takes up less space!!! I RECOMMEND AMAURY LAFONTA RUE DES MERCIERS. Retailer who listens to the customer.

17/09/2024: We happened to be there for dinner today. A great tasty restaurant and nice staff. Thank you for the lovely evening. Since we were early, we were shown a great route through the city and it was great since I'm a photographer. Afterwards we were given a nice, quiet table as our little dog was with us.

03/06/2025: We went there last Sunday, and prior going, I tried to call at 1.40, to ensure they were still open, it says 15.00 on Google map, no answer. We still went. We arrive at 14.10, struggled to park, no real parking area, we waited by the patio entrance. We were eventually greeted by a waitress, out of breath carrying plates. We asked if we could eat, we were 2. She mumbled something like, "No, were only two doing the service, and i don't have the time" and she moved on. There were only about 5 tables with customers on the patio. What a waste of a journey going there.

25/05/2025: If you're a foodie, you love nature, peace and quiet, and being on the banks of the Charente River, then you've found the right place. A plate full of originality, homemade bread. Thanks to a service provided in the region, we found L'Amaranthe. Thank you for this wonderful discovery in Port d'Envaux, this pretty little village.

07/12/2024: We came across there by pure chance, and it was a pleasant discovery! The staff are really friendly and we ate like kings. I recommend!

06/11/2024: Cuisine typically in the Japanese spirit: apparently Spartan but full of finesse and delicacy: Japanese refinement. Quantity perhaps a little tight for Westerners but the quality and taste are there. The little Fujiyama of taste buds in La Rochelle. The boss-chef doesn't care about the customers at all: a Professional, very pleasant indeed. The only downside is that the service is a little too long, but this is explained by the fact that the owner, alone, prepares fresh and tasty products for you and not dishes prepared in advance and that the lady is the only one to serve. . In any case, I will return there because the waiting time is rewarded by the qualitative content of your plate. Rating: 18.80/20. And the prices are particularly fair for the high quality offered. Allow around €30 per person for a complete taste treat sending you straight to the land of the rising Sun.
