23/09/2024: My husband and i couldn't wait to return to Hutterite Regis for oysters. Our recent experience was mixed. The restaurant still only serves4 different kinds of oysters and a small variety of other seafood. The sea snails (bulots) with which we began were PERFECT. We then shared two dozen oysters - six of each kind. Unfortunately of these 24 oysters, 4-6 of them were spoiled. This should not have happened in an oyster only restaurant. ALSO one of te great delights ib eating only oysters for dinner, is downing it all with perfect French bread and tons of butter. Alas, Huiterie Regis is now STINGY with the butter. They present a small basket a bread to the table with ONE SMALL PACKET of butter, Definitely a different philosophy from the wonderful generous hosts that use to run this MUCH SMALL and DIMINISHED oyster temple near Saint Germain de President.

In the background, the basin, Le Pyla and its famous dune. Suffice it to say, a very nice situation. Menu or card. The grilled octopus and gravlax salmon has the proportions of a starter, nothing more. Otherwise it's fine, no complaints there. Very nice sole dish, prepared in front of me at the suggestion of the waitress. Furthermore talkative and very friendly. The entire staff is young and has an enthusiasm that is a pleasure to see. Half a bottle of Pessac-Léognan, appreciable. Quality restaurant. Cape Town Rates!

13/09/2024: The place is great, with super friendly service, but frankly, the food wasn't up to par. The squids were like rubber, the pollock tartare was bland, and the portions were much too small. Too bad, because the atmosphere was really nice!

16/09/2024: Très déçu !! Nous sommes venu y manger une fondue durant l'hiver 2023 et c'était parfait. Nous y sommes retourné début septembre 2023 et.... Du tournedos à la carte mais pas en cuisine, un pavé de bœuf cuit sur un grille sûrement charboné vu le goût et l'odeur de la viande, odeur qui a rapidement envahie la salle de restaurant, des frites brûlées et un vin gris/ blanc servi trop chaud...dommage, peut être une fatigue de fin de saison ou le chef en congés ce soir là??? Nous cherchons ailleurs la prochaine fois
