01/09/2024: Place that deceives and scams foreigners. They wanted to charge us €25 for a Coca-Cola and a beer. We had to complain twice to be charged €15, which is already quite excessive. We demanded the ticket and they didn't want to give it to us. Horrible treatment.

26/08/2024: Excellent place to have a typical French dinner. Cheeses, cold meats and excellent wine. Good atmosphere and located a few meters from the Cailhau gate. Super recommended.

03/09/2024: Booked a table for the evening while visiting Bordeaux. Food was good but very fast service felt a little rushed, The waitress was really helpful and attentive which was great (constantly giving us more table water bottles without even asking unlike some places) Place was full and saw many different plates going out all of which looked good. Would try again if back in Bordeaux as felt comfortable in the restaurant and all the staff were very pleasant.

23/08/2024: We are here on holiday whilst attending a sporting event in Ychoux - was desperate for some take away food on the way back to the Airbnb - what a fantastic find Lo Sfizziu was. Brilliant pepperoni pizza, tiramisu and panna cotta (with berries on top). The husband and wife team were lovely, most excellent at understanding me with my lack of French language. Highly recommended.

31/07/2024: This is the first time in my life (I'm 43) that I've thrown away a pizza..... Burnt and Emmental pizzas, no interest.

27/08/2024: Good and well prepared food. Clean and nice restaurant. Near the hotel where we stayed. It was our salvation, there are more buffet restaurants around but they are not as nice.

26/08/2024: I was extremely disappointed with this restaurant. Although our server was very pleasant and very polite. We ordered a rare hamburger steak for our grandson. This one arrived perfectly cooked, the waitress ordered another, but unfortunately the second one was not much better. Then, I had to go around to ask for bread, ask for cheese for my risotto.... However, the restaurant was not full at all, and we had the impression that they were under the tide. When I went to pay, the boss asked me if things had gone well, I told him about our misadventures, and that's it, no action on his part. It is certain that I will not come back again.

12/09/2024: A must-see address in Lacanau Océan! Go there, you will never be disappointed. 🫶 (pleasant service, team of top waiters who are always smiling, accept the presence of dogs and give them something to drink, a large choice of beers and different tapas/dishes to taste). And a view of the sea!

24/09/2024: The air conditioning doesn't work, it's very hot in the rooms, I try to work on the windows because there are two, and then I understand why, every 5 minutes a tram passes, so it's impossible to sleep in this din. It was already mentioned in the reviews in June, I said to myself in a 4 star, the problem will be resolved 3 months later: well no. And when I tell reception they are surprised... The bed sheet is not a fitted sheet, but an ordinary sheet. I wake up in the middle of the night like a caterpillar, wrapped in it, and since the air conditioning doesn't work I feel even hotter. Also lack of pillows. In the toilets, no brush...Reservation taken over the phone, I ask for 3 nights with breakfast I pay, then on arrival breakfast is not included. I ask to speak to a manager and there they find me a solution: they offer them to me. It seems like the staff doesn't know their job, except for one person at the bar. In short, I choose this category because I want to be able to sleep really well and ultimately I didn't really rest. Novotel is no longer what it used to be.

23/09/2024: Stay 2 nights Location quite close to Saint Jean station Tramway at the foot which is accommodating but also noisy. Air conditioning broken The bottom sheet is too small and we find ourselves systematically sleeping on the mattress pad. The breakfast is plentiful Overall I find that this does not reflect a 4 star

So very disappointed despite coming here from time to time it was not the same at all this Thursday evening

18/09/2024: Un florilège ce lundi 16/09/2024 ! À l'accueil un premier serveur nous indique que le soir ce n'est pas la même carte que le midi, ce sont surtout des planchas... une fois assis il revient nous apporter la carte "restaurant". Ma compagne choisit en plat les "ravioles" sous ce titre il est indiqué filet de turbot, nous faisons remarquer au serveur, différent de celui qui nous a attablé, que le titre du plat, plus judicieux, serait "filet de turbot", il acquiesce. Le plat arrive et nous faisons remarquer au serveur, qui est une serveuse cette fois-ci, que le turbot devait être énorme vu l'épaisseur du filet, elle acquiesce. Le plat terminé le second serveur vient enlever nos assiettes et demande "tout s'est bien passé ?" Nous lui expliquons (j'avais goûté la peau qui était sur le "filet de turbot"...) notre doute certain et là, avec un grand sourire et un regard dans le blanc des yeux: "oh j'ai oublié de vous dire que ce n'est pas du turbot, c'est de la daurade" ce à quoi j'ai répondu que c'était plutôt du griset; il nous est proposé quelque chose qui nous ferait plaisir, je choisis, seul, un décaféiné. Ne voyant rien venir au bout de 20 minutes (ce lundi il y a peu de monde, maximum 10 tables terrasse comprise, nous ne sommes que deux couples à l'intérieur) je demande l'addition. Le serveur (celui qui a des trous de mémoire) apporte la note, tout sourire, regard dans le blanc des yeux : "tout s'est bien passé ?" Je réponds "c'est une question à 100 balles ?"... La note est de 101 euros 50, griset compris payé au prix du turbot je signale, pour être dans l'esprit ambiant, que le décaféiné offert, que je n'ai pas eu, "était excellent"... Une simple impression, tout sourire et dans le blanc des yeux, d'être pris pour des c... Bien dommage le bar l'oubli était mon ancien QG fin des années 80, tout part en c...... Si l'élégance n'a pas de prix, la médiocrité a un coût.
