04/01/2026: By far the best food we’ve had on our trip around Europe in the past 2 weeks. Arriving at the restaurant itself at night through the vineyards alone was already a uniquely fun experience. Their braised ham was cooked to absolute perfection(well worth the extra wait required), the black angus steak was also juicy and perfectly flavoured… If this was located in a touristy part of town they’d have 2 hour lineups for sure, but I sure am glad that this is a hidden gem.

22/12/2025: The best surprises are often the ones you stumble upon by chance. Discovered on my way back from the Colmar market, trying to escape the tourist traps and crowds. A lovely time spent enjoying traditional home-style cooking and professional, efficient service. Looking forward to returning next time.

19/05/2026: Very good, warm welcome. The food is excellent, the pasta is cooked with Italian love 👌. Just be a little patient on busy days when the service can be a bit slow. It's a shame they don't offer some crisps to nibble on with an aperitif.

I'll start with the positives: Great location Friendly servers (though 🤔) Fast service (for us; it wasn't the case for other tables) And now for the negatives, which are going to be much longer: The meat in the pie was pink, so let's just say undercooked pork isn't exactly a good idea! Same for the pastry, undercooked underneath. So I decided to eat what looked cooked with a little raw vegetable. When the waiter came to collect our plates, I asked him if I could have the leftovers from my plate, which was more than half, and he replied, "No problem, as long as it's not me who has to do it," smiling at his own joke. Since I was still hungry, I decided to order a blueberry tart, and there it was, same story: undercooked pastry!! But the icing on the cake was when I got to the till. The waiter apologized, but the person clearing the table threw away the remains of my plate—basically, 70% of my meal! Honestly, I could have accepted a cooking error that day, but for the waiter not even to ask if the dish wasn't appreciated, given that it went back to the kitchen almost as full as when it came out, is unprofessional! And I'm not even mentioning the fact that he was probably the one who should have wrapped up the leftovers, and that this clearly bothered him a lot. The bottom line: this dish cost me, at the very least, twenty euros for five bites...

01/07/2026: My husband and I were here last year and quite impressed. So we were happy to be able to get a table on the cozy terrace again in this pretty, quiet Alsatian village – without a reservation. Since my husband smokes a lot, we usually prefer the terrace when the weather permits. Some of the tables were in full sun ☀️, but we were still shown to one there. When we asked if we could move after a table in the shade became available, the waitress rather rudely replied 'No'. Since we had already ordered food, we stayed put, especially as we were told the sun would disappear behind the buildings within five minutes. The owner was clearly uncomfortable with all of this and thoughtfully provided my husband with an ashtray without us even asking. After 20 minutes, we were still sitting in the blazing, hot sun, feeling physically exhausted, and asked again for a shady spot. But it was clearly impossible for the waitress to offer us one of the cooler tables. Incidentally, the shady tables remained unoccupied for quite some time, or were offered to new guests, even without a reservation. Gradually, I got the feeling that we might have unintentionally broken some etiquette rule... After we finished our (as usual, quite delicious) meal and waited an (also inexplicably) half hour for my lemon sorbet with Gewürztraminer (still delicious), my husband lit another cigarette. Within seconds, the server was there and took away his ashtray, saying "he wasn't allowed to smoke because people were eating on the terrace next to him"... We paid the bill and left. I'm still racking my brain trying to figure out what we did wrong. Or is this due to the difficulty of finding friendly and attentive staff these days? Next time, we'll visit the excellent restaurant across the street again (unfortunately, it was closed today!): a hidden gem for lovers of first-class cuisine, stylish, well-trained, and friendly service, and a cozy and unique atmosphere. What did we do wrong at the Auberge?

10/06/2026: We've been several times before, and we returned after a two-year break. It's clear things have changed drastically, and not for the better. The welcome is very cold, no smiles at all; you almost feel like you're bothering them. As for the food, the fish portions have been significantly reduced, and the quality has suffered as well. What's more, if you want sashimi, there's a €2 surcharge! Then there's no more soy sauce on the table; you have to get it from a dirty plastic jug. Some of the dishes we ordered were never even served! We won't be back.

28/05/2026: A pleasant spot with a covered terrace. Surprise! They serve pike... that's rare enough to be worth mentioning. What's more, it's very well prepared... friendly staff and a reasonable bill... a great find!
