14/02/2026: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Honestly, a fantastic find! The sushi is truly delicious, incredibly fresh, and prepared with care. You can taste the quality of the ingredients from the very first bite. The flavors are perfectly balanced, the rice is perfect, and the portions are generous. Everything is excellent in this little shop: the welcome, the cleanliness, the service, and above all, the passion behind the food. It's a pleasure to see shopkeepers who do such a great job. I recommend it 100%, and I will definitely be back. They absolutely deserve 5 stars!

14/02/2026: I love sushi and I've tried quite a few places, but Gumi Sushi is on another level. Everything is delicious, without exception. We've been coming for years, and honestly, we've never been disappointed. Every time, we enjoy ourselves from start to finish. All the food is excellent; you can taste the freshness and care in every dish. The staff is always pleasant and smiling! Thank you for delighting our taste buds every time we visit!

03/03/2026: All the staff are Japanese, and it truly feels like stepping into Japan as soon as you enter the restaurant. I ordered the tempura udon with two prawns and egg on top, and it was really good. The udon noodles had a nice chewy texture, and the soup wasn’t too strong in flavour — it was light, smooth, and paired perfectly with the noodles. I also had a draft beer, which was fresh and nicely carbonated, making the meal even more relaxing. However, I wasn’t quite sure why the freshly fried tempura prawns were served directly on top of the soup udon instead of on a separate plate. The batter quickly soaked up the soup, so the texture wasn’t as crispy as I expected. I would have preferred the tempura to stay crunchy on the outside. There aren’t many seats available. If you sit at the bar counter, you can watch the chefs prepare the food right in front of you, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. Overall, it’s a great place for authentic Japanese udon in a cosy and lively setting.

19/01/2026: Outstanding sushi. Fresh fish looked beautiful, tasted wonderful and was generously served in all the items we ordered. To make it even better, the woman who took my order was so very patient with my inability to speak French; she made sure that I got exactly what I wanted. This was a takeaway order so atmosphere was not important. I give it a high mark because everything was sparkling clean. We’ll be back soon.

24/12/2025: The food was delicious and inexpensive. We ate here on Christmas Day. I had soup, rice, salad, and three skewers of meat for €7.50! For three people, we spent €35.

08/03/2026: I ordered premium sushi and salmon roe. The conger eel and salmon roe were beautifully presented and delicious, and the other fish were fresh as well. The location is easy to access, with plenty of free parking nearby. I'd love to go again.

13/02/2026: Ajito is, in my opinion, the best Japanese restaurant in Aix-en-Provence! The quality of the food is remarkable and truly resembles what you would find in Japan. The salmon sushi is delicious, but there are also other fish sushi options to discover (I recommend ordering an assortment of sushi to try different types of fish). They also offer specialties like soft-shell crab (fried soft-shell crab) and kakuni (slow-cooked pork), which are rarely found in other Japanese restaurants in France. The price is slightly higher than other Japanese restaurants, but it's more than justified by the quality! I will gladly return!

05/03/2026: I've been here about ten times already, and I've never been disappointed! The prices are very reasonable and the portions are generous! They have a few vegetarian options. It's run by a small family, very friendly and welcoming, and the service has always been excellent. I've been several times with friends, and we all think their miso soup is delicious, unlike anything else I've tried! I highly recommend this little restaurant; it's just a shame it's tucked away in a corner, not very visible… 🫶

07/03/2026: The fish is of superior quality, totally different from what you buy in cheap sushi shops. They served the food fast, were nice to us and gave us a little extra entree for free. Plus, the chef is working right in front of you if you sit at the counter.

04/03/2026: It's too expensive, really expensive for the 15th arrondissement of Paris. A single set meal costs €59, and the meat quality is nowhere near as good as Japanese or even Korean yakiniku—a world of difference. I suggest that anyone who has been to Japan (or even just tried all-you-can-eat yakiniku in Taiwan) shouldn't have the same expectations. Treat it as a new experience in France, so you won't be disappointed. A basic bottle of red wine costs over €30, which is really expensive. In short, the price isn't the main issue; it's about being worth the cost. Unfortunately, this restaurant didn't give me that feeling. I'm giving it three stars because of the staff's service and the shredded cabbage appetizer.

03/02/2026: The best yakiniku! I'm a Japanese person living abroad, and I've been to many restaurants looking for Japanese yakiniku, but I've never had such a perfect experience as this one. It was so delicious, I was so happy I almost cried. The staff and chef were friendly and had such a great atmosphere, it was the best dinner ever. I was lucky to be able to sit here for just an hour on the last day of my New Year's holiday trip to Paris. Thank you so much to everyone at the restaurant.

The service was a bit slow and some dishes weren't available. This was due to the restaurant being very busy. Nevertheless, the staff were very friendly and attentive. We will definitely return.
