15/07/2026: The welcome and service were truly appalling. The waiters were condescending. We waited over 40 minutes for only two out of three dishes... We were told to wait even longer for the third, but after another 30 minutes, it still hadn't arrived. Meanwhile, we had already finished our meals quite some time ago, and we waited a total of 1 hour and 30 minutes. In the end, we left without her receiving her food. Frankly, it's unacceptable. To top it all off, there was no explanation and no attempt at compensation. Very disappointed, I do not recommend this place.

12/07/2026: Whilst looking for somewhere to dine we passed this restaurant and was told diner was from 6.30pm We arrived for this time and were seated and drinks and food orders were taken quickly. Drinks arrived and then 45 minutes went by with no food. Other diners began to ask questions as did we only to be told the kitchen didn’t open till 7pm. After numerous attempts to chase up 2 pizza orders 1 hour later they arrived Average pizza nothing special Service poor and clearly saying open at 6.30 to get people in when all other restaurants did open at 7. Wouldn’t recommend or return No apology either Overpriced

26/04/2026: We came to this restaurant for dinner on the recommendation of regulars. The welcome was warm, with attentive staff, and the dining room was beautifully decorated to evoke the spirit of North Africa. Orders were taken and served promptly. The four of us each ordered couscous, two lamb dishes, one merguez sausage meatball, and the last dish, the "royal" (a type of couscous). Two of us had the classic durum wheat semolina, while the other two had barley semolina. Personally, I didn't find the barley semolina to have a superior taste to the durum wheat, especially considering the price difference of €5 per person. Ultimately, it's a matter of personal taste. But the dishes were flavorful, well-presented, and generously portioned. The atmosphere was pleasant, ideal for a meal with family, friends, or even as a couple. Overall, the value for money is good, with a total of €173 for the four couscous dishes, four aperitifs, four desserts, and a half-bottle of the excellent Boulaouanne rosé. The owner even offered us a small glass of digestif to round off this pleasant experience.

20/04/2026: The best barley couscous I've ever eaten, a true Kabyle specialty. And with a restaurant that has over 100 years of history, you can't go wrong. I ate there for the first time with my wife in March 2023 and have been back several times with friends and family. I plan to return for the couscous festival in Marseille – the atmosphere is fantastic! Thank you, Moustapha, for your kindness.

13/05/2026: Had a very tasty paella and was assured it was gluten free. Chairs not so comfy.

09/05/2026: A very disappointing experience. We went expecting quality Spanish tapas, but it was the complete opposite. We ordered croquettes, a Spanish omelet, and calamari, and frankly, nothing made sense. The omelet didn't resemble a Spanish omelet at all: boiled potatoes with skin on and egg on top, like it had been reheated and fried. The croquettes were burnt, and the calamari had more batter than actual calamari. Everything tasted like reheated food, prepared without any care. The worst part was when we commented that the omelet was terrible, and they told us it had been made at 4 PM. Honestly, saying that doesn't excuse anything; it only confirms the lack of quality and freshness. I don't understand how this place has such a high rating because the experience was truly awful. If you're looking for authentic Spanish food, this isn't the place.

26/07/2026: The fish was disgusting; several tables said so, but the owner preferred to insult people by saying it was edible. However, the waiters and waitresses were understanding and excellent.

09/05/2026: Found this place on Google which said it was open until 5pm, arrived at 3pm and the doors were wide open so we walked in to order.. we were greeted in the most rudest manner 'why are you here' 'what do you want', I tried to expla the misunderstanding and that we'd driven 15 mins on purpose but the woman, who was clearly overwhelmed by the fact that we had even dared to walk in, showed us the a sign on the door and shouted 'were closed, obviously I do not serve food after 2pm'. Terrible attitude towards clients, quite shameful...

16/06/2026: I came with my family; the restaurant was almost empty, yet we waited a full hour before our order was taken, and then another hour to be served. I won't be going back. We arrived at 12:30 PM and left at 4:30 PM.

09/06/2026: Declining Service and Declining Quality It is with great regret that we are removing our previous positive review to update our current experience. As regulars at Le Chary restaurant, where we spent almost all of last summer as well as the off-season, our most recent visit was unfortunately very disappointing. The service has declined dramatically, to the point where we wonder how the recruitment process was handled. The two waitresses completely lacked professionalism. One of them was dressed in a vulgar manner, and both let customers become impatient before finally serving them with an extremely nonchalant attitude. We saw several people sit down and then leave for another terrace, tired of waiting for attention. The same was true for a large table of about fifteen people who had to wait 20 minutes before a customer flagged down a waitress so they could finally be seated. For our part, the waitress was unpleasant and pushy. After having a drink, we wanted to eat. As for the food, we ordered our usual mussels. While the price increase wasn't a problem, the quality was definitely not the same. The mussels with Roquefort sauce were absolutely disappointing: the sauce was practically nonexistent, as if a cheap piece of cheese had just been thrown in hastily during reheating. To get any flavor at all, we had to ask for extra sauce (which we chose garlic cream, as the mussels with garlic cream we ordered separately were fine). Finally, the meal was ruined by an inappropriate haste: while we were eating, we were asked three times if we had finished so they could clear the table. If the waitresses put as much enthusiasm into welcoming and serving customers as they do into rushing them out, the experience would have been much better. While we used to warmly recommend this establishment and send friends, acquaintances, and people we met there, we will now definitely no longer advertise this restaurant. It's a real shame. The restrooms, although not particularly attractive, were at least usually clean. This time, it was simply shameful: they were filthy from the very start of service.

14/07/2026: A nice little brasserie for lunch in Aix-en-Provence. The menu is varied, with dishes to suit all tastes and a few daily specials that change regularly. The portions are decent, the service is pleasant, and the value for money is excellent. Expect to pay around €25 per person for a full meal. A good place for lunch with colleagues, friends, or family.

05/06/2026: I won't criticize the food because we didn't eat. He kicked four of us out in a very rude way because we wanted to drink four beers and eat a pizza at eight o'clock in the evening. The place had quite a few empty tables.

17/03/2026: Excellent couscous, served quickly, generous portions, and piping hot. The oriental pastries are delicious. The only downside is that you feel a bit alone in the dining room, but the decor is lovely; it's like traveling without leaving home! 😁

12/03/2026: In my opinion, the best couscous in the Haute-Savoie region! The portions are generous, the semolina fragrant, the vegetables simmered beautifully, and the meat tender. Best value for money. I come back regularly and have already converted everyone I know!
