14/09/2026: The restaurant is certainly well-located but quite basic in what it offers. Let's just say it's not particularly sophisticated cuisine, more like a brasserie (salads, burgers, etc.) with a somewhat haphazard menu that could almost make it a tourist trap. Was the homemade terrine actually homemade? It's fine if you're coming with family and want to eat without a reservation. Nothing more. Fortunately, there are better options just a few streets away.

14/09/2026: We stumbled upon this charming little restaurant by chance, and the many positive reviews convinced us to reserve a table at Tante Liesel. We weren't disappointed. The atmosphere is incredibly cozy, like a traditional living room. The service was very friendly, and the other guests' demeanor showed that the owners put their heart and soul into their work. The food was delicious. We started with onion tart, followed by a small portion of Käsespätzle (cheese spaetzle) and the Eisbein (pork knuckle) with beer sauce and fried potatoes. Since this combination didn't include sauerkraut, we ordered it separately—an absolute must! The white wine was perfectly chilled and tasted wonderful, and the digestif afterward was also excellent. The price-performance ratio is absolutely fair. All in all, we highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely return on our next visit to Strasbourg.

10/09/2026: We went there for lunch based on Google reviews. We knew we were running late, especially when we arrived and saw that the only other table was occupied, and they were just finishing up. In that part of Europe, 2:00 PM is very late for lunch in most places, and even though we had a reservation for that time (the booking app allowed it), we arrived a little earlier. We had taken a city tour, and the guide recommended arriving early, so we rushed to get there before our reservation time. If tours end around 1:30 PM, it's impossible to get there earlier for lunch. Even so, and despite being the only ones left, the service was excellent. The person who served us showed us pictures of dishes we didn't recognize. We made good choices thanks to their help. The food was plentiful and delicious. They were also kind enough to ask if we wanted dessert before closing the kitchen. Small place. Recommended for lunch, reservations are best. It's a shame we couldn't arrive earlier to enjoy the delicious food more leisurely. The pork knuckle is the best!

19/08/2026: We visited Au Cygne d'Abondance with another family of friends, and given the results... we returned a second time! An unmistakable sign of how excellent the experience was. The quality of the dishes is exceptional: each course is prepared with care and mastery, with authentic and genuine flavors that reflect true Alsatian tradition. We sampled different specialties on both visits and were won over each time. The wine also deserves a special mention: an excellent selection, perfect for pairing with the dishes and further enhancing their flavors. But what made both evenings truly special was the staff: kind, attentive, and professional at all times, capable of making us feel at home despite our large group. Impeccable service, with that touch of human warmth that truly makes the difference. It's no coincidence that we returned: here, the quality is consistent and the welcome always warm. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic, high-quality gastronomic experience in Alsace. Five fully deserved stars!

31/08/2026: We came for a large family meal and had a lovely time in a warm and inviting spot in the heart of the forest. We all had the same menu, and it was delicious. If you're near a Carrefour, parking is easy and it's very accessible!

We're always warmly welcomed, the room is very clean, the mattress is good, the restaurant is excellent, the bar too, and the breakfast is superb. I highly recommend it and look forward to returning to our Alsatian neighbors next year.

27/07/2026: We had an absolutely exceptional culinary experience (July 19, 2026). Each dish was a true journey, with unique, perfectly balanced, and exquisitely refined flavors. The quality of the ingredients, as well as the expertise and passion of Chef René (who runs the kitchen single-handedly), were immediately apparent. Jessica's welcome was warm, the service attentive, and the ambiance refined, making the experience even more enjoyable. Without hesitation, this is the best restaurant we have discovered to date. Umami is a must-visit, one we wholeheartedly recommend and where we will return with the greatest pleasure. Bravo and thank you to Jessica and René for this magnificent experience.

05/08/2026: We used to come here for the tarte flambée, which was considered one of the best around Strasbourg. However, success can lead to a decline in the quality of the tarte flambée, with a centimeter of burnt and soggy crust, a drop in the quality of service, and an unbearable noise. And to top it all off, the owner's response when we asked for the bill, as it was impossible for us to stay any longer in that atmosphere, was simply that we should have come earlier, without a word of empathy, apology, or thanks. We won't be back, and I advise against it. The success of tarte flambée doesn't guarantee success. Respect for customers is the bare minimum if you want to stay in business...
