01/10/2026: Nice restaurant, the custom 30 subs are still affordable, good choice of ingredients for the sub, varied breads, for those who want a pre-made sub there are several options plus a daily special, there is a room to eat in and toilets if needed, overall, a quiet place, which is nice when you want to eat in peace.

05/10/2026: This is my fourth time having lunch at this restaurant. We had lunch this past Sunday on the terrace overlooking the estuary. I had sea bass, cooked perfectly. My partner had a well-prepared parillada. The place is calm and relaxing. The waitress was pleasant, smiling, and efficient. I will continue to enjoy being a regular at this restaurant. Thank you for this lovely experience.

05/10/2026: Sunday lunchtime, a leisurely late morning, a table on the terrace along the Dordogne River, an Indian summer sun... A gourmet menu featuring more fish than meat, pleasant and varied starters, main courses that delivered both quality and flavor, welcome desserts, genuine and friendly service, a chef who kept pace... 04/10/2026: Run away! They told me there would be a 10-15 minute wait at the drive-thru. I've been here for an hour and five minutes and I still don't have my order. They might have staffing issues, but don't tell them there'll be a 10-minute wait! It's unbelievable.

17/09/2026: This is our neighborhood canteen! So happy to see this restaurant open near us! The owner is very friendly, as are the staff! We've already been 3 or 4 times and will gladly go back!

19/09/2026: The setting is charming, the dishes are very generous and delicious. You can get takeaway boxes. The gentleman at the reception is lovely. However, the waiter is far too rushed; it's stressful. The waitress is a bit cold. It was a lovely evening, and we will certainly return.

12/09/2026: A very pretty building (the owner's house), large parking lot with plenty of space, and incredibly generous portions (I left with a doggy bag and a bottle of Moscato d'Asti, a gift from the owner after payment!). You really feel like you're in Italy, and I mean it. The restaurant business is a demanding profession driven by passion, and the servers and owner know their menus, wines, and specials perfectly. The team is incredibly kind and welcoming. Eating these dishes outside on the terrace is like being in a world of your own! The best discovery in a long time, in a perfect setting. The dishes are delicious, and there's something for everyone. I highly recommend it.

30/08/2026: It's appalling to have a minimum spend of €16 for credit card payments! Move along quickly and stop right after this point because the minimum is €10!!!!

12/09/2026: We had three excellent pizzas tonight, ordered in advance and ready right on time. I had read some of the negative reviews and frankly, I'm surprised. The pizzas are thin and very generously topped, at very reasonable prices. Personally, I love them and I prefer them to those pizzerias that serve you bread dough with a little tomato sauce on top. We will definitely be back at Joël's.

11/09/2026: The pizza was fairly average in terms of taste. The thin crust concept is quite good. The prices are very affordable, though. The place is clean. We left the beach very hungry and were happy to find a place that accepts walk-ins.

08/09/2026: A fantastic find! We had a wonderful time at Elio’s. The dishes were absolutely delicious, flavorful, and generous, made with excellent ingredients. I highly recommend this restaurant in Bordeaux, and we will definitely be back! 😍

04/06/2026: This is a review of just the restaurant, as we weren't staying at the hotel. On a dull, drizzly day in Ste Foy, we were struggling to find anywhere at all to eat. We came across the Victor Hugo by chance. What a great discovery! Charming staff in a place full of locals with a great atmosphere. They managed to fit us in on the last free tables. The food was good quality, but the most impressive thing was the warmth of the welcome. We were the last to leave as they closed after lunch and had a really good chat with the owners - such pleasant people. We would happily have eaten there again if we'd been staying nearby. Merci, monsieur et madame de votre accueil chaleureux.
