02/09/2024: Coming at 6 to have breakfast, two of us opted for the continental breakfast (either English).
Forget England, the bacon is round came directly from Lidl or others, the squeezed orange juice... Maybe.....
Everything is brought to you cold, no flavors, super disappointing...
I was with a person who knows this establishment well so I don't doubt the qualities of an ice cream parlor but for the breakfast it is distressing...

We celebrated our wedding reception on Saturday, June 21, 2025; everything was perfect. The decor was magnificent, their constant attention, and their generosity. All our guests were delighted and greatly appreciated being able to interact with them.
We highly recommend 🫶🏼🤩.
A huge thank you again for this beautiful day, which meant so much to us and for which you brought together all the ingredients 🙏🙏🙏🙏.

16/12/2024: Passing through the city center and in front of Le Bistrot des Grands Hommes, the dish of the day tempts us.
The room is full, so we have a drink on the outdoor terrace while a table becomes available.
Beautiful flank steak with pepper sauce, homemade fries + bowl of salad for €14. Honestly, the quality/price ratio is unbeatable.
A rum baba for dessert which, as we were told when ordering, is not really one since it is made on the basis of the financiers they make to serve with the coffees. Well soaked, this dessert is very good. Rum baba-style financier.
Everything is homemade, the welcome and the service are perfect.
12/12/2024: I think the bistrot des grands hommes is one of the best coffees in Bordeaux.
It has recently been completely renovated with taste and very high quality.
The sound and musical ambiance is perfect.
The server Loïc is incredibly helpful and friendly.
The room and the terrace are both very pleasant.
The coffee is good. The espresso and the long coffee are both charged at €2.20, the same price as the other cafés on the square, with the exception of another which charges them at €2.50.
Coffee is served with a delicious homemade financier.
A truly perfect moment.

09/09/2024: Clean restaurant and welcoming staff with a terrace for eating outside and a small play structure but on the evenings of a football match, the parking lot is full so it is very difficult to park despite a large parking lot!
06/09/2024: Restaurant rather dirty and yet people inside normal 2:30 p.m.
Does not respect the ecology charter. Drink in a cardboard cup, for consumption on site.

Et là, un 🪱 dans l'assiette de ma fille.
Dis à la serveuse, qui en a fait part au patron.
Il a rigolait et reparti en cuisine. Et a Garde l' asticot.
Même pas un geste commercial.
On n y viendra plus🤔🥴adieu la petite crêperie ☠️

14/09/2024: Very nice discovery in Bordeaux. Guaranteed trip to Greece and the grilled octopus is a treat.
16/08/2024: Really nice terrasse in historical neighbourhood of Bordeaux, friendly staff, service was prompt and the food was tasty, dishes were fresh and colorful.
I was disappointed by the wine service as I ordered a bottle of Assyrtiko and was given a bottle of Chardonnay without telling us.
It’s only when they brought the bottle covered by an ice pack, poured the wine and left that I realised the wine tasted different and it was really not the one I ordered.
Asked the staff who came back explaining they ran out and thought this was would be the same, therefore a good replacement. I was not happy with this explanation.
They offered us a shot of a digestive to compensate but alas as a wine person, disappointed with wine service especially with the bill.
Felt the dinner was tasty but in terms of experience it was not entirely satisfying and overpriced.

21/09/2024: Je viens ici depuis des années, c’est toujours une valeur sûre. Toujours très bon, copieux, la salle est jolie, le service impeccable… on s’y sent comme à la maison, et pour un prix très raisonnable.
07/09/2024: Petit restaurant dont la façade ne paie pas de mine, tellement discrète qu'on a du mal à la repérer en passant en voiture.
La carte est bien fournie, avec des plats typiquement vietnamiens que l'on trouve rarement dans la région et qui demandent un peu plus de travail que les très courants boeuf/porc/crevettes sautés. Nous étions neuf, et pourtant la qualité des plats n'en a pas pâti : tous les plats étaient bien assaisonnés, savoureux, nous nous en léchions les babines. Et particulièrement moi, car ayant perdu l'odorat et le goût il y a 4 mois (sans doute un Covid passé inaperçu), j'ai été surprise de trouver les plats goûteux, preuve que je retrouverai sans doute mes sens bientôt.
Le seul petit reproche que nous avions formulé est le manque de "verdure", car au Viet Nam les plats sont le plus souvent servis avec beaucoup de légumes ou plutôt des herbes. Mais le restaurateur nous a expliqué que les européens n'apprécient pas trop ce vert, en particulier la coriandre, et c'est pourquoi sa femme qui est aux fourneaux n'en met qu'avec parcimonie.
Les desserts étaient simples mais bien présentés, et l'on sentait que ce n'étaient pas des desserts industriels mais faits maison (pour les beignets). Les sorbets sont délicieux, à base de vrais fruits (j'y ai trouvé des petits morceaux d'enveloppe de cassis et de framboise).
... Surtout ne pas rater l'occasion d'y aller !

Les plats sont efficaces et bon.
Excellent moment passé nous y reviendrons avec plaisir!
