03/08/2026: This is the restaurant where I grew up. I highly recommend this Japanese restaurant, which has very welcoming staff and a wide selection of dishes. Since the pandemic, with the introduction of QR codes and phone ordering, things have really changed!

18/10/2026: After a day of sightseeing, I was hungry, and SAPPORO is one of the few places open after 3 pm or all day on Rue Sainte-Anne in central Paris. I got a seat right at the counter since I was alone. The service was quick and responsive, as is often the case in these "Japanese eateries." I ordered a Yakiniku Don, which was quite good, but rather light on rice in my opinion. Since I was still hungry after the Yakiniku Don, I ordered gyoza. The gyoza were quite grilled for my taste, with very little filling. I wasn't expecting haute cuisine, but it was decent overall. The green tea was powdered tea with hot water; they didn't brew it. Because of this, I found it rather expensive overall. The menu features classic Japanese dishes. There are separate men's and women's restrooms, and they were clean when I was there.

18/10/2026: I was quite disappointed with the shoyu ramen. For €12.50, I found the value for money really mediocre: there wasn't much topping, and the egg wasn't even included; you had to pay an extra €2.50. The broth was good, but nothing special. I've had shoyu ramen at other restaurants, sometimes for a similar price, that was much more generous and better worth the cost. It's a shame; I expected better.

16/09/2026: The order was fine. The sushi was very basic and lacked a bit of finesse; not my favorite. It was okay, but nothing special. The service, however, was excellent, with very fast delivery.

10/09/2026: The food wasn't great, and there was no communication with the staff except at checkout. Orders are placed via a QR code, but they don't tell you that 😅 The fan creaks. Make up your own mind!

02/10/2026: The fish is super fresh. It literally melts in your mouth! Easily one of the best quality fish places in Paris.

23/09/2026: The best Japanese restaurant in Paris, by a long, long way! I've been going there for 15 years now, and I've tried a lot of Japanese restaurants... But honestly, none of them even come close. A sure thing all these years!

14/10/2026: Yen is a very good restaurant with some very unique experimental japanese dishes. The staff are knowledgeable and the service is very good.

10/10/2026: I am visiting Paris and wanted to go to this place for its good reviews. We sat there for more than 20 minutes before someone took our order. 9 pieces of shashimi and 6 sushi rolls took more than 45 min to be ready. Food was just ok but we didn’t get side plates, no water and no rice as advertised on the menu. We ended up going to the Korean place next door where service and food were much better. We won’t be going back there.
