04/10/2026: Extremely expensive for what it is. At €39 for the evening menu, I think we have the right to expect more generous, more refined, and more flavorful cuisine. Basically, it's okay, but definitely not worth the price. A major disappointment. And to top it all off, we were seated on the street in a spot where everyone was urinating. We spent the evening surrounded by disgusting stench. Of course, it's not their fault, but at that price, you should sacrifice a table and not put your customers in such unacceptable conditions. A very bad experience.

27/08/2026: A wonderful, authentic, and genuine experience. The staff is friendly, smiling, and welcoming. The food is also excellent, especially the daily specials. Honestly, it's fantastic! It's so refreshing to see that places like this still exist. A superb spot! Be sure to book ahead, as it's clearly very popular.

19/08/2026: This hotel was horrible. It smelt mouldy (to the point of almost being unbearable) and felt very cheap - except it wasn't that cheap. It reminded me of hotels I stayed in on school trips in the UK when I was a child (and I don't mean that in a good sense). Speaking of school trips it felt bizarrely regimented. Check out was 10am!! Check in was 5pm!! Dinner is served at 7:30pm sharp and you needed to order your dinner by 6pm that evening. Breakfast was between 8-9am. This felt like a bizarre school schedule (or one for pensioners) certainly not a tourist friendly, flexible, relaxed one. We booked it because it was the only place with availability at the last minute close to the lake where we spent the afternoon mountain biking. Oh and you share the toilet (singular) with the entire floor of guests. The only plus is the location is very quiet and you see a fantastically illuminated starry sky at night.

16/07/2026: Visited as part of our GR30 trek holiday. Operated by a husband and wife couple, very friendly and knowledgeable - he shared a couple of good tips to improve our route the next day. Room was a family room for 4, a bit tight with a double bed and bunk bed inside but clean. Shower amenities very basic, could be improved. We dined there, had the truffade, which we loved. Clafouti for dessert, nothing to write home about - maybe try something else. Location is ok, nothing special really. Located 100m away from the lac de la Cassière - lovely on paper but it is a private lake and the locals will call the gendarmes if they spot you swimming in it… and finding a public spot by the lake was quite an undertaking. A nice stay overall. The only negative: they open at 5pm, but we got there much earlier than that. It was a scorching day and we would have loved to be offered at least a glass of cold water or a cold drink from the bar. We were told we could fill our bottles at the back from a hose though… small detail but on the day it felt like a miss.

13/10/2026: Meals worthy of a gourmet restaurant; quality of ingredients and presentation; truly not disappointed.

05/10/2026: The place is quite pleasant but very noisy. Sunday's meal (not the cheapest option), lacking any of the flavors described in the menu, was served to us by two pleasant young women, but they seemed overwhelmed.

13/09/2026: It's awful. The owner, with her cigarette dangling from her lips and her filthy apron, is unpleasant. The "homemade" menu is overpriced for the poor quality. Honestly, avoid it. Lots of positive reviews; it must be a different place.

29/08/2026: We had lunch in the square, it was very pleasant. The food is truly homemade, with dishes you won't find anywhere else; I had the stuffed cabbage with foie gras, and what makes everything better: the service is perfect from beginning to end, truly professional. And the bill was light, as was the glass of white Gascony wine for 2 euros to accompany the meal!
