30/07/2026: Ange is a pretty good franchise, but not all of its locations are staffed with people who are passionate about their work. The service is good, the staff are friendly, but there are a few small details or aspects of service organization that could be improved, such as providing a sandwich bag even if it's eaten in, labeling the corresponding coffee under the cup to make it easier for customers to return to the register, giving each customer a tray (even if there are only two of us), and perhaps having more staff to clean the tables as soon as possible.

19/08/2026: This hotel was horrible. It smelt mouldy (to the point of almost being unbearable) and felt very cheap - except it wasn't that cheap. It reminded me of hotels I stayed in on school trips in the UK when I was a child (and I don't mean that in a good sense). Speaking of school trips it felt bizarrely regimented. Check out was 10am!! Check in was 5pm!! Dinner is served at 7:30pm sharp and you needed to order your dinner by 6pm that evening. Breakfast was between 8-9am. This felt like a bizarre school schedule (or one for pensioners) certainly not a tourist friendly, flexible, relaxed one. We booked it because it was the only place with availability at the last minute close to the lake where we spent the afternoon mountain biking. Oh and you share the toilet (singular) with the entire floor of guests. The only plus is the location is very quiet and you see a fantastically illuminated starry sky at night.

16/07/2026: Visited as part of our GR30 trek holiday. Operated by a husband and wife couple, very friendly and knowledgeable - he shared a couple of good tips to improve our route the next day. Room was a family room for 4, a bit tight with a double bed and bunk bed inside but clean. Shower amenities very basic, could be improved. We dined there, had the truffade, which we loved. Clafouti for dessert, nothing to write home about - maybe try something else. Location is ok, nothing special really. Located 100m away from the lac de la Cassière - lovely on paper but it is a private lake and the locals will call the gendarmes if they spot you swimming in it… and finding a public spot by the lake was quite an undertaking. A nice stay overall. The only negative: they open at 5pm, but we got there much earlier than that. It was a scorching day and we would have loved to be offered at least a glass of cold water or a cold drink from the bar. We were told we could fill our bottles at the back from a hose though… small detail but on the day it felt like a miss.
